When I went to dev options to do something I saw OEM unlocking about 1 hour later when I actually needed to activate OEM unlocking it's not there. I've tried the 7 day thing where you change the date and all that but it doesnt work. Is anything I can do to activate OEM unlocking? [link] [comments] |
| Factory Reset Phone asking for pin Posted: 08 Dec 2020 07:10 AM PST I just factory reset my phone and sold it on Ebay and apparently it keeps asking for a pin when he tries to unlock it. It is just my pin that I used on my phone before I reset it or is it something else? I tried setting a google pin and using that but that didn't work and he's currently trying the old password right now. The phone is an unlocked Samsung Galaxy a71 international version. Posted: 08 Dec 2020 05:54 AM PST Hi everyone, My family lost a loved one this year, and as part of processing the deceased relative's digital foootprint we would like to print/PDF our text conversations with them. The phone is a Samsung Pixel 2. We would like to extract an entire message thread (including SMS and MMS messages) from a given contact, and print the conversation or export it to PDF. Including the photos is key, as a big part of this person's humor was sharing pictures and memes. What is the best way to do this? Is there an app that can transfer messages (both SMS & MMS) from the phone to a printable format? Screenshotting the entire conversation history for each contact seems especially cumbersome. | What google app is replacing hangouts for Consumers? Posted: 07 Dec 2020 07:50 PM PST I currently use google hangouts video calling to keep in touch with my parents who live on the other side of the world. The both have android phones with Gmail accounts and are not tech savvy at all so hangouts was the obvious option as they didn't need to sign up to anything new, just install the app and it works. Hangouts seems to be going away soon and it's not entirely clear to me what's replacing it, I've read that it will be Google Chat but at the moment it doesn't seem to be available to non business users. There seems to have been a slew of Google apps for communication that have been abandoned or superseded (and then abandoned), what is the option I should use with my parents going forward that will integrate with their current Google accounts, allow video and voice calling and not suddenly disappear? Getting them to sign up for a new non Google service is something I'd rather avoid as it just complicates things for them and giving them "tech support" to help try and solve things just leads to frustration on both ends. Posted: 08 Dec 2020 08:29 AM PST Hey, For reasons I cannot explain, a large number of apps that I purchased over the course of the last two to three years are still listed in my "app library", but when I try to install them, I'm asked to pay for them again, as if I had never purchased them. - I doesn't seem to be an issue related to a phone switch: Yeah, I changed devices in August, but I had installed some of those title on the new device since then, without any problem. What could be the reason for that? Most of the programs are games by SquareEnix, but I haven't found any specific news that could relate to that. This mostly touches non-essential things, as far as I can see, but still - I did the honorable thing, and paid for the games I love from back in the distant days of my youth, and now I find that I can't access them, any more. | Correct PIN not working and can't get the "multiple failed attempts" on LG phone Posted: 08 Dec 2020 12:01 PM PST So i woke up today to my mom not being able to access her phone due to her PIN, which both she and i know is the correct one, not wanting to let her access her phone, and even if we try spamming the PIN or whatever other PIN we input we can't even get that "multiple failed attempts, try again in 30 seconds" message so we can't try other options. Rebooting, removing the batteries and chip aren't solving it, and i also can't access it in safe mode. What the hell can i do? The model is a LG K10 2018. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 08 Dec 2020 11:37 AM PST I have a galaxy s7 and I've bad it for almost 2 years, so it's not as good as it used to be. I was scrolling on Instagram watching memes when I scrolled onto an Insta reel, it was the video where Trump buys a woman's car and her kids, but when it started playing the screen got all staticy, as in, part of the video was there but other chunks were missing or mixed up, after 1 second of that happening my phone restarted. I didn't think much of it cause my phone restarted by itself once or twice before so I sent back to Insta and went back the profile that the video was on to watch it again, but the exact same thing happened again, the video was messed up and my phone restarted. I did it again and it happened once more, I did it about 5 times and everytime I tried to watch the video my phone restarted. Any plausible explanation for this or is my phone scared of the video or something? The profile btw is i_have_no_memes96_v2 and the video was posted 3 hours as of typing this. | How can I bypass wired headset controls completely? Posted: 08 Dec 2020 07:02 AM PST My phone is Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite, running Evolution X ROM. The headphones are RHA T20i. They have in-line controls which I believe are designed for iOS. The volume controls have never worked with Android phones but the play/pause button always worked. The other day I plugged the headphones in and the volume kept going all the way down, like someone was pressing the down button. I tried the headphones with a different android phone and the same thing happened. I tried different headphones with my phone and it was fine. So it's definitely the headphones sending false positives for volume controls somehow. I was using the Button Mapper app to disable the volume down button, but after a day or two the volume started going way up as well. This is arguably a worse problem as it's very startling and almost deafens me every time it happens. I was using the Button Mapper app to disable all volume adjustments except long press for volume up/down, so I could at least adjust it somehow if I have to. The problem evidently worsened as the headphones started jamming the volume up, even when using the Button Mapper app. I don't want to disable volume controls completely to the phone and headset when listening with the headset. Is there any way I can just bypass the headset controls? This is a super annoying problem and I don't want to buy new headphones since there's nothing else really wrong with them. | AR emoji sticker got stuck on loading avatar (Samsung A50) Posted: 08 Dec 2020 10:30 AM PST As the title suggests I have a problem with the AR Emoji Sticker app that comes with my phone (Samsung A50) while I have finished creating my avatar then when it came to loading the app it became stuck and there is no progress even after I wait for around 15 minutes. I've been trying to clear the app cache and data, update it to the newest version via Galaxy store, deleting all avatars that I made previously on the AR Emoji app, clearing its cache and data too even restarting the phone. | I want to do a few things but don’t know how Posted: 08 Dec 2020 06:27 AM PST Ok so for some description I am trying to use an android tablet built into my car, I've been eyeing the 2020 kindle fire HD, I already know how to bypass the Amazon stuff, but there's a few things I need help on. First is a "boot screen" I want to make it so when the tablet turns on, it shows a Chevrolet boot screen for 3-5 seconds, but has no Lock Screen or progress bar. The next thing I want to do, which may be kiosk related is make it so when I turn on ignition And it starts charging it automatically comes on, which it already does, but when it stops charging when ignition gets turned off the tablet goes to sleep. The next issue is boot loader, I want it to stay on Apple CarPlay all the time, but the problem with that is if I put it in kiosk mode I can't make it go to back up camera. Which brings me to this issue, how do I make it so when I am pressing button down it'll run an app, but when not held down it will automatically go back. Like normal Android head units. When I try to log in to my account on a new device, the 2-factor authentification requires me to tap "OK" on both of the Android devices in order to work. I usually don't carry my tablet around so when I'm not home I have to rely on SMS as 2fa method. Can I disable my tablet's 2fa function and let my phone alone suffice as 2fa device? | My phone wont update/keeps freezing on boot up screen Posted: 08 Dec 2020 09:01 AM PST This barely started happening last night when I realized my phone wasnt sending out messages at all, so I decided to restart it. It was then that I noticed my phone would freeze upon either the LG boot screen or give me false hope upon getting stuck on my mobile carrier's screen. Since then it has gotten so tedious just getting the damn thing to turn back on. Another thing I should mention is that my phone received a notification for an update a couple days back but I was not able to install it since I was in a hurry at the time and was reminded of it upon getting my phone to start back up again. So I figured that maybe the update would solve this issue. Unfortunately, the the same thing would occur despite it being for an update. So far, I have tried restarting the phone (volume down and power button method) but this left me in a boot screen until my phone would finally start up, restarting with download, I also initial tried switching messaging apps before finding out the reboot issue which didnt solve anything either. Minimizing the app shows the floating video in the bottom right corner, but it disappears when opening any other app. It only reappears when I open the keyboard. The floating video also just disappears when I tap it. I can't reopen youtube or twitch without navigating back to the app. The floating video appears to slide down to a negative Y value on the screen, so essentially below the screen. | Has anyone used PD with QC 3.0 chargers? Posted: 08 Dec 2020 04:11 AM PST I have a samsung note and my wife has an iPhone. Don't ask why. So, I saw this charger and another one that supports both but not in the same port. They each have separate ports for PD and QC3.0. These types seem relatively new and I haven't found reliable reviews about this. Most google search items are "vs" videos or articles about which is better. Anker doesn't seem to offer pd with qc chargers. Are they legit? Edit: To avoid misunderstanding, yes I know the difference between PD and QC. I need to have one charger for multiple devices with fast charging for both iphone and android. There are only a few chargers that I found that I linked above. | Posted: 08 Dec 2020 12:20 AM PST Hi! This happened last night as I was browsing through different SM apps then I suddenly got disconnected from my Wi-Fi network. I tried reconnecting but my phone cannot detect any wireless networks from around our area when there are so much to detect before all of this happened. I tried rebooting my phone, but the problem still persisted. -When I try to turn on the Wi-Fi connection from the easy access menu (drop down), the system crashes. -When I try to connect through the settings app, the on-off slider works but no Wi-Fi network ever shows up. -I tried resetting network settings but it did not solve the problem. -Booting to safe mode did nothing. -Similar problem here: https://forums.androidcentral.com/ask-question/785058-wifi-settings-crash-when-trying-open-available-wifi-connections.html -Only solution I have left is doing a factory setting reset but it said in the thread from the link above that it did not solve others' problems (permanently, at least). Posted: 07 Dec 2020 09:17 PM PST I noticed that for the past few months, my Note 9 512 is overheating incredibly whenever I play games, particularly the center and left side edge on the back of my phone. Games that I've played countless times are now laggy where I have never experienced lag before. I've had my phone for 2 years, and it also has experienced dramatic battery degradation. Of course I expect my battery to degrade, but not "25 percent in 30 minutes of playing a game" kind of degradation. Is it possible for the cooling system to be damaged if it is dropped? If not what could be the cause? Can I fix it? Would it be worth the money to fix? Geekbench results: 405 single core vs 480 single core average for Note 9s. 1935 multi-core vs 2014 multi-core average for Note 9s. [link] [comments] |

I set it up on my phone, shared via wi-fi, added my pc as the allowed device versus allow all devices. Says my phone should appear as a network to connect to on my pc now-- nope nothing shows.
