What the hell is taking up the other half of my storage space? I understand that a lot of space is taken up by the system itself, but 16GB??? Is it an "empty my cache" issue? Posted: 30 Dec 2020 06:24 AM PST I got a text message from a random phone number saying that the sender took my baggage home since I wasn't available at the time and sent me a link to confirm it. I instinctively clicked on the link thinking it might be related to work. It redirected me to an unsecure website then asked if I should begin downloading a file that might harm my device. I realized that it might be some kind of malware as I have no recollection leaving anything so I immediately pressed cancel and exited out of the site. I wanna know if there's a possibility that my phone has been compromised. I also wanna know if it's safe to reply to ask the identity of the sender. P.S. Sorry if I sound stupid, I'm not knowledgeable about this kind of stuff. I already did an antivirus scan and it says there's no problem but I've heard mobile antivirus are useless so I'm asking just to be sure. [link] [comments] |

Is there anything I can do, or should I reset it and tell BIL to send it back? She gets alot of phone calls and notifications ect... but when I need to get a hold of her I really wish I had a wireless communication device I could reach her on to tell her to answer her phone. Now I have a Oneplus 8 Pro and after google-ing the issue I have not found any solution to make it the same. Is it even possible or is it just a Huawei feature? If yes how so? The biggest thing he's noticed is that it's dropping all his calls. I went online to try and find someone with the same problem, and did, but they just recommended an app to change the output manually (Lesser Audioswitch). It worked, but I don't want to rely only on an app for something that should be so basic. Went through all settings, couldn't find anything. Any ideas of what to do in this kind of situation? | Posted: 30 Dec 2020 11:30 AM PST So I recently got the OnePlus 8t and am wondering if a screen on time of 7 To 9 hours(according to battery usage in settings) is normal. I use 120 Hertz and have my brightness at 25% ish. My old phone the Huawei y7 and my brothers redmi note 9 pro both have much better battery life then me. I guessing that's cuz they aren't 120 Hertz and much lower specs that use less power but I'm not sure cuz this is my first actually good phone and don't know what to expect lol [link] [comments] |
| How do I get this keyboard to go away? Posted: 30 Dec 2020 10:58 AM PST The keyboard on my phone works grand for my wee Donald Trump hands, and the spacebar is a regular size, however when I open chrome it changes the layout of the keyboard to add in extra keys that can go ".com" and the spacebar becomes smaller. I think we all know where this is going, yes my google searches have taken 3-5 seconds longer due to time lost hitting backspace and retyping. Basically, is there any way to disable the keyboard with all the stupid "internet keys"? I want the same keyboard I use to text to be the one that I type a website into. Never before have there been so many unintentional full stops (period points) in my searches. It reads like a pornstar trying and failing to send a telegram. | Google Play store only works in web browser? Posted: 30 Dec 2020 10:42 AM PST Just like the title says: I can only install apps on my mobile using a web browser. If I try to install an app using the android play store, I get random error messages - type 192, 193, 403,... I tried all the standard tricks (cache deletion, data deletion, restart, re connection of my account), nothing worked. I just have reset the phone to the original settings and now try to reinstall my apps. The not so funny thing is: I was able to install some system updates/upgrades, and the phone was able to download around 15 of the apps, but now I get the same errors again. The not so funny part II is: if I look up the google play store using a web browser on my PC and select an app and my phone as target for installation, I am able to install every app which fails with error 192,403,.... on Android. If I unlock my phone or tap the screen when it goes dark, I get a notification alert - sound or vibration, depending on setting. No graphic notification accompanies it, only the alert. | Eye Comfort (blue light filter) mode not functioning properly Posted: 30 Dec 2020 09:28 AM PST I've an OPPO Reno 2 and I've noticed that occasionally, certain webpages (only while browsing not in any apps that I've seen) the screen will suddenly change to having the blue light coming through. In the status bar, however, the Eye Comfort setting is still turned on, so it isn't that it's switching the setting off, the specific page is loading and the screen turns blue. It isn't even a site-wide thing; specific pages turn the screen blue while other pages on the same website stay normal. Any ideas why this might be happening? Is there a way to fix it? Cheers. | Help recover from factory reset boot loop Posted: 30 Dec 2020 09:00 AM PST Factory reset goes into a boot loop on my jellybean 4.2 tablet. I downloaded the correct OS to a PC and unzipped it on to an SD Card. After inserting card into tablet and using the update from sd card just shows all the files. It never starts to load the OS. My problem is that when i power up the phone it asks me my password (pattern) and my laptop dosnt show my phone until i complete that step. So ADB dosnt help, USB OTG dosnt help. I cant restart it to factory settings beucase i cant see ( I tried at least 158 times) Can someone please help me, and please have in mind that im from Croatia and poor and cant afford a new phone.
