| Gboard Incognito Mode Potentially Not Functioning As Intended Posted: 12 Nov 2020 02:59 AM PST Gboard seems to be remembering words which have only ever been typed in Incognito mode, despite the supposed incognito mode. To demonstrate the issue, I have recorded a video (here). Apologies for the quality, but chrome incognito mode doesn't allow the screen to be recorded. To demonstrate the issue and show that it is across sites, I recorded myself doing the following:

Since I bought it around 1-2 years ago, its never received an update so I'm still stuck on android 9. I tried smart switch, and frija but both cant find updates for my version. I contacted support and they said I just have to wait but its getting ridiculously long. I'm willing to send a few bucks by PayPal if someone can help me but it isn't really a huge number because I'm a student and don't have lots of spare money. Thanks [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 12 Nov 2020 11:17 AM PST I was trying to move this app (1.8gb) to the SD card but it never moved because of "insufficient storage space". Even weirder, every time i tried, the app wouldn't move but it would somehow still take some space in the SD card! Let me explain, first time i tried my SD card had 10gb of occupied storage, "cannot move, not enough storage space", and then my SD card would have 11,5gb of occupied space. Second time i tried, again "cannot move blah blah", and now my SD card had 13gb of occupied storage. I've had this memory card for like 2-3 years and something like this had never happened to me. | Google reminders disappear after an hour or so Posted: 12 Nov 2020 10:51 AM PST I've found lots of threads online of people that are having the same problem as me, but unfortunately no solutions! I set reminders a lot for myself using the Google Assistant. They pop up at the appropriate time completely fine, but then they disappear after an hour or so without my having swiped them away of marked them as done. I've tried to change battery optimisation settings of everything I can, but that's not helped at all. Anyone have any ideas? I have a OP6 running Android 10, but I've seen others online with Pixel devices and Samsung devices complaining of the same problem. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 12 Nov 2020 10:20 AM PST I have this old Note 10.1 tablet, It had no rom and hard buttons we'rent working so I used adb to get it into download mode and flash a rom on it using Odin, I flashed the ROM and everything was fine but it still wouldn't load-it was still stuck in that annoying bootloop. Now I tried to get it into recovery mode using ADB but now it says it's unauthorized, now since it won't even boot up, I can't authorize it from the device. This morning, my Pandora account, which I use for my alarm in the morning, errored out, saying Pandora isn't available in your country. I turned off the vpn and it worked just fine. On each new song, I get the same pop-up, which if you click "okay", then the app fc's, but if you just ignore it it continues streaming just fine. Is Pandora seriously not available in Canada?? | Quick way to change between 1440p & 120hz on Note 20 ultra Posted: 12 Nov 2020 09:07 AM PST I recently got a galaxy note 20 ultra 5g exynos version, and one of the features it has is 120hz adaptive refresh rate which I almost always have on. My problem is that when I watch videos on YouTube for example I'm limited to 1080p and if I want to watch in glorious 1440p I need to go into settings, switch to 60hz, then change the resolution to qhd and back every time. Is there a way I can quickly toggle between these two settings? Something like a quick settings tile would be great, or like a bixby routine when I open YouTube.. my phone isn't rooted and I'm not a developer so IDK if it's possible but any help would be appreciated. | Have to turn off Wifi to send MMS? Posted: 12 Nov 2020 08:51 AM PST Running 8.1 on Moto 5G. Every time I try to send MMS (group text, images) through Messenger (default mesg app for Android), it says "Sending . . . " until I disconnect from Wifi, which turns my cell connection to LTE. Then it immediately sends the message. The Sprint tech told me: yep, that's just how it works. MMS goes over cellular data, not Wifi and celldata is disconnected when in Wifi mode. I'm in a bit of disbelief. Really? This is considered a normal user experience? There are posts on the net to fix this with changing the APN, but I don't see that option, and rooting my phone isn't an action I wish to take. Suggestions (for communicating to other phone numbers, rather than to apps)? Or just confirmation that this is indeed how it works for you? Thanks [link] [comments] |

It displays recent calls like this: Recent Calls List The new phone is a Samsung A71. | Answering my phone while Do Not Disturb is enabled [Galaxy S9+] Posted: 12 Nov 2020 06:44 AM PST My phone switches to DND at 10 PM, and I'll occasionally get a call after that (from somebody on my Contacts list). I have tremendous difficulty answering the phone at that point. I unlock it with my fingerprint, and there's no place to answer it. I usually then swipe down from the top, but the next ring makes the pulled-down list go back up (and the phone typically goes dark again). There's probably something extraordinarily simple that I'm missing here, but I'm having trouble figuring out what it is. I have Speaker-PhoneEx installed (all I've ever used it for is an automatic transition to speaker when I move the phone away from my face) and thought that might be the problem, but disabling that didn't change things. Well, not exactly new, but the whole scene is so complex that I can be called a newcomer again. So I want to backup my phone (including recovery) before playing around with it and what I have found is to use TWRP booted (NOT flashed) through fastboot. However, I'm worried that I might have accidentally downloaded wrong TWRP and that I might damage my device if the file turns out to be damaged. If I accidentally boot a wrong/damaged TWRP, can it damage my phone? [link] [comments] |
