Since I've started I have recorded over 22gb worth of videos, I deleted them after I got my videos edited and uploaded to youtube, but for some reason deleting them didn't free up any space, Why did deleting them not free up space and how can I free up that space? A lot of calls are getting dropped. Whenever im connected to Wifi i want the phone to be on GSM network. And when i turn on Mobile data i want the preferred network to be LTE. | Help with Chrome Download to SD card save location needed Posted: 11 Nov 2020 12:39 PM PST On galaxy s20+5g verizon newest firmware/version available. When downloading something from Chrome, say an image file, and my download location is set to SD card it gets saved to a location that i can't seem to access. Here is an example: file:///storage/6137-3432/Android/data/com.android.chrome/files/Download/71TqtTG7khL.AC_SL1400.jpg Also referenced as: SD Card /storage/6137-3432/Android/data/com.android.chrome/files/Download/71TqtTG7khL.AC_SL1400.jpg I tried using samsungs file explorer and Googles. Even downloaded solid explorer to try and get to this directory and can't seem to reach it. Same with plugging phone into windows 10 PC to view files. For some reason my google/chrome app permissions for file storage were turned off and I think that's why it all goes to this weird location, but now that I've turned them on I was hoping I could at least delete the downloads folder here and maybe now that the app permissions have been fixed it would go to a more accessible directory. As you can see from the title, I'm looking for a free and open-source application that I can use to uninstall and disable software. My device is rooted so having an app that allows me to uninstall system apps is very much preferred. Aurora Store is fine but F-Droid is preferred. | How to retrieve photos from a completely defunct device? Posted: 10 Nov 2020 07:10 PM PST The photos haven't been deleted, but the device they're on doesn't work anymore. The screen is almost entirely shattered and was submerged in water for a good bit of time which led to what I'm talking about. If I press and hold the power button, I do see that it tries to start up, but all that it shows me is a little bit of white light through all of the cracks on the screen. I can't go any further than that on the device, I don't even manage to make it to the home screen, it freezes upon the white light everytime I try to power it on. I didn't back them up or sync them with Google Photos, and they're all stored on the device itself, not on an SD card or anything of the sort. Trying to get the screen replaced/fixed isn't an option for me here because I'm pretty sure that it was it being submerged in water that killed the device, and if that's the case, fixing the screen wouldn't do much good. Is there any other way for me to get the photos on that phone back? [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 11 Nov 2020 11:13 AM PST Hey Folks, I had opted in for the android 11 beta months back. Everything was getting smoother with every update. But with the last update, couple of issues have popped up which are really annoying 1) First is that the power button doesnt lock the phone at once. Have to keep on pressing it multiple times to lock. Isn't a hardware issue as It unlocks with just one press. 2) Whatsapp video calling somehow doesnt get connected to the bluetooth earphones on the first go. Have to recall everytime, so have switched to duo for video calling. But since Duo hasn't got any messaging platform, its tiresome to switch between apps for video calling and messaging. Device is Pixel 2XL. Was in Beta. Aint sure whether i am still in beta or in the final release as i am unsure as to if google have released the stable android 11 in my country. Thought this was just a few bugs for the beta which would be patched in the next update. So wasnt worried much but its been a couple of months already and there are no updates. Thanks. I have had some mild issues in the past such as certain parts of my screen not wanting to react to my touch for a bit, then working a bit later, but this is the first time i've had a pretty significant problem like this.] Today i woke up to find my phone off and not turning on. I would pressed and held for a bit, at one point i believe i held it for around 7 seconds or more for it to not respond at all. I connected it to the charger, waited a bit, then tried powering it up. Nothing, nothing, then it worked. Battery was 55% so i know that isn't the issue, but i have no idea what caused this and now i'm wondering, has anyone else had a similar issue and is it worth replacing my phone over? Do you happen to know what the cause of this could be? i have no real issues with battery life or anything. Although recently i have had a strange issue where my screen will turn to "static" almost when looking at some stuff online such as websites with ads. I scroll down only for the images to go away and weird static to appear in the browser window until i stop scrolling and let it adjust itself. it is very strange, but it appears INSIDE the browser, so i assumed it is not an issue with the phone itself but the ads or something not being optimized for mobile. | Reddit App Performance issues on LG Wing Posted: 11 Nov 2020 10:54 AM PST I decided to give it a shot and bought the new LG Wing and I have noticed that it seems to lag and run at a really choppy frame rate while on the Reddit android app. It never did this on my last phone (Galaxy S9). Is this because the Galaxy S9's Snapdragon 845 is better performance wise then the Wing's 765? Or is it something to do with the Wing's 2 screens and how the app is programed? Does anyone else own a Wing or another phone with a similar hardware setup and have these issues? Just to get this out of the way, the phone is charged above 50%, I have tested both on and off of WiFi, I have auto play videos turned off, battery save mode is turned off, it does this regardless of which screen it is on, and everything else runs fine. Posted: 11 Nov 2020 06:18 AM PST My Android phone (Razer 2) says it's nearly out of space - but while the "Games" bar on the storage screen says 24gb, if you tap it, it says there are no apps: All my games are stored on the SD card, which is huge and nowhere near full (<25%). When I'm in a call on the stock phone app I can't minimize it or access any of my other apps. On all my other phones I could swipe down from the top to get to my notifications, or use the three nav buttons on the bottom of the screen to go home or access my other open apps. But I cannot figure out why we cannot take an Android installer and install it on any device having a supported architecture (arm64 for example) like we do with Windows or a Linux distribution. From a noob point of view, it looks like a retarded OS to me although I am quite sure that the thousands of engineers having contributed to Android cannot have produced a retarded OS.
