| Images not properly moving from downloads. Posted: 02 Oct 2020 06:49 AM PDT My question is, is there a way to disable them? When I move images from downloads to any other folder, it makes a "false" copy. They become visible in both folders, but it's like it's the same file in both folders, so if I delete either version of the image, it deletes both, which means that unfortunately moving them and then deleting the version in downloads isn't an option. I tend to download images from games and the like when I'm bored, and then organizing them into relevant folders, and tend to just leave miscellaneous images (like memes) in downloads, so it gets pretty tedious when my download folder is bloated with stuff I would normally organize out. | Help changing ''usb controlled by'' option Posted: 02 Oct 2020 06:28 AM PDT So I recently bought this usb type 'c' to hdmi dongle to watch Netflix on my TV and when I plugged it in nothing happened and after a while I figured I had to change the ''USB controlled by'' option from ''connected device'' to ''this phone'' and so when i tried to change it i clicked on the ''this phone'' option it said ''couldn't switch'' and I went and investigating but after a few hours I couldn't find the article I needed. I tried going to the developers options and turning on ''tethering hardware acceleration '' but that didn't do anything. So here I am asking for help. | Posted: 02 Oct 2020 11:54 AM PDT Hello r/AndroidQuestions! I have had this issue for a while now. When I go to set a wallpaper, it automatically throws itself off center. I have a Google Pixel 2 (not the XL) with Verizon. I am on Android version 11, just checked to make double sure I am updated to the newest version as of today. Here are 2 examples of what is happening. I have tried different zooms, adjusting the position, and multiple different pictures. This issue only happens when the picture I am using is shorter than my screen, not wider. Here is an example of it working perfectly, with a wide picture. I hope I am describing that accurately. Basically if the rectangle is "portrait", then it will not center. If the rectangle is "landscape" it will center properly. Is there a setting that I overlooked that will allow my wallpapers to center? Is this a known bug? If there is any more information i missed that I can provide, I am happy to. [link] [comments] |

Clearly a scam, but I'm interested to know how they managed to send what appeared to be an OS message rather than a notification? Should I be worried about my phone security at all? I don't get any pop ups when the phone is unlocked or locked. If I get a notification while locked the screen still stays off. I have checked the smart pop up settings and everythjng is on. | Samsung S8 Will Not Turn On After Updates Posted: 02 Oct 2020 07:22 AM PDT Hi all. I updated my Samsung S8 yesterday, and now there is no response from the phone at all. It's like Samsung decided to destroy the phone. There are only two cases where I can get any kind of response. First, when I set the phone down on my wireless charger, the wireless charger lights up, but there is zero response from the phone. Second, when I hold vol down + power, the Samsung S8 splash screen will show for a few milliseconds accompanied by a tiny vibration, before going back to black. Any suggestions? | Posted: 02 Oct 2020 06:57 AM PDT In Reddit, YouTube, Twitch, Instagram, Google App etc. the feed/search results are often reloaded whenever the user switches apps or opens something from those menus, then presses back. my Android device has over 8GB RAM with only 3 apps open, yet I suffer from that reload issue every day. is Android just trash (doubt its Android, because browsers work fine) or are the devs of those apps too inept to fix this? Is there a workaround other than using purposely-limited mobile website versions? to prevent reloading when swiching apps, an inconvenient "hotfix" would be to trigger split-screen without leaving the app (RecentApps Menu is considered leaving). but the issue of opening items from the feed/search results remains. | Unable to move apps to SD Card Posted: 02 Oct 2020 06:05 AM PDT I have two Samsung Tablets. One is running Android Lollipop and the other is running Android 10. The one running Lollipop has all of the apps that allow it stored on the SD card. For some reason, the one running Android 10 doesn't allow me to move the same apps to the SD Card. Is there a reason why this is or a way to get the Android 10 tablet to allow me to move my apps to the SD card? I was messing around with settings and I looked up the proper apn settings for Qlink and saw that it didn't match what I had. So I deleted the apn and tried to add the one I found online. Kept trying and it wouldn't save. The apn screen reads: "Unable to view the access point name settings. Access is restricted on the current user profile." I've tried resetting network settings and resetting all settings. I'd like to avoid having to factory reset the phone. Any ideas? Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 02 Oct 2020 04:35 AM PDT It looks like a screensaver but my system screensaver is turned off (also, according to its description, it only turns on while the phone is charging anyway). I don't have any screensaver apps either. Unless it's a product of some other app that I'm not aware of. It's very annoying as it turns on seemingly randomly (not after every screen lock) and it ignores the double tap to wake function. I have to use the power button to unlock my device instead. Could anyone please shed any light on this? I'm using Android 10 on Galaxy A71 with Nova Launcher. [link] [comments] |

| Question about software updates on Lenovo.. Posted: 02 Oct 2020 03:20 AM PDT So I bought a Lenovo Z5 Pro GT on Ebay. I have contacted the seller, however I like the phone so would prefer to sort out my issue if possible. It's currently running android 9.0 and the ZUI is unknown. Also I cannot find the update button within settings. When I search "update" a button appears for ZUI update, however when I press it nothing happens. I assume the phone has been flashed, or boot-loaded. There is a message on start up: "the boot loader is unlocked and the software integrity cannot be guaranteed. Any data stored on the device may be available to attackers. Do not store any sensitive data on this device." I am unfamiliar with boot loading/ boot loaders so not sure what to do? I have looked into adding a custom rom, looked at some online guides but the one I looked at said to download "Treble" which I did and the result was orange. seamless system updates are not supported. So I did not proceed. The OS at the moment is okay, however there is some functionality that is missing, particularly Dark theme. So if anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. I have tried to find information out myself, just the information out there seems pretty confusing, so if you could direct me to an appropriate guide or share their thoughts I wold be eternally grateful. I mean the area where Bixby services appear on Samsung and Shelf appears on Oneplus. I will disable bixby services on my phone, and then the "left page" will disappear. I would like to have OnePlus like experience on my Samsung device, so I'm interested if I could place a notes widget or something to left area, so it would be easily accesible from the start, just like on OnePlus. My next phone is probably S10e and I look forward to removing all the Samsung bloatware with ADB system. However, I would like to keep the bixby integration in the camera, which I have no experience from, but it sound useful if it's anything like Google Lense. Is it possible to remove bixby services without removing the camera integration? Also, if it is possible, is it a privacy risk to leave the integration, will it collect my photography and camera data, like other Samsung services? [link] [comments] |
