| How to Connect jackless phone to Car Stereo Posted: 08 Oct 2020 02:59 AM PDT How can I connect my phone that doesn't have a jack plug to my old car stereo (that doesn't support Bluetooth). I don't need anything fancy (like FM transmitter, car battery monitor, Alexa and whatnot), I just want to be able to play music from my phone to the car speakers. The car has a jack plug and I used to have a 3.5mm audio cable between the phone and car, so I don't mind using cables. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 08 Oct 2020 04:50 AM PDT I've been using ES File explorer (a version from 2015) and was gonna upgrade it to a more recent version when I came across complaints/issues of it tracking data and some other shady stuff. So I was wondering if there is any other File Explorer apps that function the same as ES did? First of all I'm sorry if this is not a good place to post this, this is my first time on this subreddit and I'm not spending much time on Reddit either honestly haha 😅 I write this message today to ask for your opinion and for your help about a problem I'm facing on my phone. Basically, Google Play services apparently has 83% of battery usage in my settings and I'm not sure if it's normal or not... Posted: 08 Oct 2020 11:35 AM PDT Hi, long-time (since 4.0/Ice Cream Sandwich) android user so I feel pretty dumb asking this. At some point, searching in the app drawer went from "you clearly want to search your apps" to "you clearly want to search the web, and oh I'll hide some (but not all!) matching apps below the keyboard so you can't see them." I accidentally just mistapped something and ended up being able to search for ONLY my apps, no recent web searches!!!! Brought back a hope in me I didn't know I still had. | "View entire message" in Gmail app. Posted: 08 Oct 2020 11:32 AM PDT So today i got a short email(4-5 short sentences at most) which contained no attachments or anything,only text. At the end of that email,Gmail offerd me an option to "View entire message" so i clicked it assuming there was more text in it,but after i clicked it that email opened but there was no any additional text in it. So my question is why did Gmail crop that email if there was no additional text in it?Could i get a virus when i clicked "View Entire Message"(This one concernes me the most,also note that nothing was downloaded when i clicked,phone is not rooted,unknown sources are disabled and Gmail app is updated)? Is this just gmail app glitch? Note:I read that Gmail clips emails that exced 102kb limit but as i said this email was just a few sentences and no attachements/links,just text. Big thanks for help! Posted: 08 Oct 2020 07:33 AM PDT I want to transfer my data of my old phone (especially all my phone number text messages, all the other apps dont do this) to my Mi 10 Lite 5G. My old phone is a Huawei P20 lite. When I click 'im the receiver' on my Mi it shows a QR code. However, when i scan this on my P20 it doenst open at all. It just keeps loading forever. Also, the Mi Mover app cannot be found in the app store. Can anyone help me out? I want to move over my text messages (SMS) to my new phone. | Make your own icon pack from different packs Posted: 08 Oct 2020 11:01 AM PDT Hi, I recently downloaded an iOS-looking theme for my Android phone. The only problem is that some icons are not what I want. For example Play Store looks like Apple Store, Google Maps looks like Apple maps, Google News looks like Apple News etc, you get the gist. It's a bit annoying. I've tried changing those apps with X Icon changer, but it only changes them on the home screen and not in the app drawer/in the system. I know custom launchers let you customize singular icons but I've tried many, including Nova, and they all miss something. I want to keep using Huawei's default launcher. I have an app that coverts icon packs into usable Huawei themes so I feel like there is a lot of customization ability allowed in the default launcher. So I'm wondering if there's some way to "make your own" icon pack. Like, taking icons from different icon packs and putting them together, or adding your own, and then saving it as an icon pack. Every time someone in my group sends a simple text message, I have to cut my mobile data on, go to their contact, and download a file. Recently my phone has been ridiculously unreliable for the simplest things. Example: my wife has an IPhone on the same TMobile plan, and if we are both in a group text, I will receive messages easily 15 minutes after her... sitting in the same house 5 ft away..on the same cell plan. At other times I have just straight up not received the texts and then gotten them all in a batch hours later. Or messages will be out of order / splitting off into different threads, etc. Recently I have also been missing calls because my phone doesn't bother ringing? It just tells me "oh btw u have a missed call" hours later. Literally just today I got a notification that I had an important voicemail that someone left for me TWENTY HOURS AGO. Wtf is wrong with my phone? Been an Android user for a long time but I'm about to bail, boys, unless you have ideas for me to improve it. | Huawei 9X Pro OEM Unlock option is not available? Posted: 08 Oct 2020 06:25 AM PDT Hi everyone. So my friend bought a Huawei 9X Pro yesterday (Which the shop does not accept returns), only to find out that it doesn't have any Google Services apps installed, nor is he able to do so in any way. The Huawei app center or whatever it's called doesn't have insta, fb, messenger, etc. Originally I was going to unlock the bootloader, in order to install twrp recovery so that i can use it to install all the google suite from open gapps. I turned on usb debugging, and tried with adb and fastboot to unlock it but it says oem unlock is not allowed. In the dev options the oem unlock is greyed out so you can't select it. Every few seconds, the screen dims and the home button is highlighted with this little design: It did not do this before and recently started last week. | Samsung Messages Compressing Images 2X More than Google Messages Posted: 08 Oct 2020 09:55 AM PDT Howdy Folks, I am currently using a Note 20U on T-Mobile unlocked. I have tested out using Samsung and Google Messages apps. While each have their benefits, I overall prefer Samsung's...except for its utter inability to send decent MMS messages. I do have RCS enabled on both Google and Samsung, but almost no one else either uses android, or if they do, has RCS enabled on their end. I have 1 or 2 friends where my photo will send full sized RCS rather than a compressed MMS. For that reason, RCS is not too important to me. The one complaint is the compression of my MMS files. Whenever I send a photo through MMS on either Samsung or Google messages, it gets compressed. It appears Samsung compresses them much much more though. If I send a 2.5mb photo, google messages compresses it to about 1mb regardless of the receipt. Samsung messages will compress it to 350kb or 150kb depending on the person. 350 for other android users it appears or 150 for iphone. Is there any way I can reduce the compression rates of samsung messages? I just want photos I send to be viewable. [link] [comments] |

I've allowed my apps to run in the background, turned off battery optimization, ensured they have permission for notifications but I'm still missing notifications seemingly at random. I've searched for "Adaptive Notifications" in the "Special Access" setting but it doesn't exist. I've also turned on Developer Options to see if I can find a similar option there. I have a Moto G8. There was no option in the storage settings so I reformatted it on my computer and then brought it back into my phone. Now it gave me the choice of internal or external, but the internal option is greyed out. Does anyone know why it is not giving me this option? My phone is a Nokia 6.1 and I am on android 10. It is always fixed after a restart, but a few minutes or a few hours later the keyboard disappears again. It never disappears while being used, I just try to use it again after a while and this happens. I've tried clearing the gboard cache, deleting the app data, removing all app permissions, booting in safe mode and then rebooting, but nothing works. If I press the language change key in the right bottom corner, the button disappears and the phone becomes really laggy and almost unresponsive untill I close the (nonexistent) keyboard. I have a OnePlus 7t pro running Android 10 and OxygenOs 10.0.10 . Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
