Old school indie RPG gets 500,000 downloads and 4.6 rating on Play Store

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 08:46 AM PDT

Hi I'd like to present my passion game project - a text based RPG set in a dark fantasy world, inspired by dungeon crawlers and cRPG's from the 90'. It tackles the sterotype of mobile RPGs as casual nonsense with cartoony graphics, rife with ads, paywalls and other greedy monetization practices. It tries to blend text adventure, board game-like mechanics and classic turn-based combat system into something fresh and, hopefully, unique. Many people have noted that it reminds them of their DnD days and scratches that adventuring itch in a right way.

It kicked off pretty well, accumulating almost 500,000 downloads and 4.6 rating on the Play Store in 4 months since it's release to late beta. If it seems like your thing, I invite you to give it a try and leave your honest feedback. It's free. Cheers!

Btw, sorry if this is not accordance with the rules enough to warrant posting here. If that is the case, feel free to remove it.

What are your favorite idle games?

    Posted: 16 Oct 2020 09:42 PM PDT

We all know them. Many of us love them. Idle games are great at giving our thumbs stuff to do while playing themselves while you're not on the app. We all also know that there are some real bad ones out there. You can't just look up "idle" on the play store, unless you want to find a lot of the games that lobby for top results on the play store. So I'm looking for help on finding some more good ones! Any suggestions?

[REQUEST] I'm looking for a game that is similar to Warframe

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 02:37 AM PDT

    What I have in mind:

    • you can switch between multiple champs and/or weapons with different powers depending on the mission you wanna do,

    • you can play pve online,

    • many, many quests available,

    • lore is welcomed but not necessary,

    • there's a lot of grind, and I do mean a lot, but it's kinda fun in its own repetitive way (like in Warframe)

    • can be f2p or p2p, I don't mind,

    • sci-fi background is welcomed, but not necessary,

    • no afk mechanics, please, no.

What are some decent free games I can play multi-player with my 4 year old little sister?

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 11:43 AM PDT

She has a cheap $20 phone with no sim card as a sort of toy. The other day I made a local game of Among US and connected her to it. We basically just ran around since we didn't have enough players to start a real game. She absolutely loved it! I was wondering if there's any kid friendly multi-player games we could play. Preferably free, but if its like a buck or two thats ok.

    Thanks in advance!

[REQUEST] A real-time PvP game with tap-to-aim controls

    Posted: 16 Oct 2020 11:03 PM PDT

I really loved the design style of the Vainglory with the tap-to-move and tap-to-aim controls.

Lately I've been playing the game Tanks A Lot!. I'm not a big fan of the on-screen joystick for movement but it's not a deal breaker. In the settings you can change the aiming mechanics to tap-to-aim instead of a digital joystick.

I really love this style and want to find more games like it. I wish you saw more options like this but it seems like everything is based on digital joysticks.

I'm looking for any game suggestions, preferably PvP or multiplayer related, where there is a tap-to-aim feature instead of digital joystick.

I'll stick with Tanks A Lot! but unfortunately there's an unlock timer on chests which makes it inefficient to play continuously which is unfortunate because the gameplay is enjoyable.

I'm not having any luck finding the digitizer without the 120 plus dollar oled display. I'm not paying 150 bucks for a 30 dollar replacement.

Indie game developers lost on how to market my new mobile game.

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 12:10 PM PDT

I'm a new Indie game developer and last week I released my first mobile game. From my kickstarter I acquired 50k users which is amazing and I'm grateful for the support I've received. My problem is I'm utterly lost on marketing and how to promote my game. I'm here looking for advice and insights from other indie and mobile game developers. What strategies worked for you and what are the best ways at acquiring users you found releasing your past games?

[REQUEST] RPG without the hero collecting/gacha mechanics

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 05:45 AM PDT

Is it too much to ask for an rpg without the gacha mechanics? Im getting tired seeing and playing all these games. Its bad for my mental health. Its not like I hate them, I just want a fresh feeling of playing an rpg from start to finish without the nightmare of low drop rates. Just like old times.Top down RPGs somewhere around the line of zenonia, inotia, soul knight, and dungeon quest. Any rpg is fine and not limited to just top down. 2d or 3d is fine. In addition, I've played stardew and dont starve. Wishlisted evoland. Any recommendations?

[request] Great games with full controller support?

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 05:20 AM PDT

    Hello all,

I have recently come by an S10+ and a Razer Junglecat, and as a result I am seeking some extra games to fill up the massive storage.

I'm happy to pay for a good experience up front. I am mainly interested in action, adventure, fps & racing. Any games must have full controller support.

If you have any recommendations, please do share. Thank you.

[Request] Musou style game possibly offline

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 12:49 AM PDT

So ever since Dynasty Warriors Unleashed shut down I was on a hunt for a musou style game on the play store. I know that they are making a new Dynasty Warriors Mobile and that Fate Extella but all of these need to come to west at some point. I also tried Dawn Break series and while it's good it has a small number of characters to pick. I also found some Dynasty Legends which is clearly inspired by DW (and has a surprisingly good English voice acting) but it's a typical always online gatcha freemium bs. So if anyone has a recommendation of a hidden gem I'd love to hear it.

    Cross platform emulators RetroArch

    Posted: 16 Oct 2020 06:38 PM PDT

Hi does anyone find that their games don't look nearly as good when you open them with retro arch?

FOR EXAMPLE I loaded up GTA Liberty City on PPSSPP (the actual app) and then opened the same game on PPSSPP using retro arch and it didn't look nearly as good compared to the actual PPSSPP app.

I like the idea of only having to have one app for all my emulators, but if that means losing performance then I'm not interested. Is there any alternatives to retro arch?

[Request] Android games with mod support?

    Posted: 16 Oct 2020 08:46 PM PDT

So I have played some of Rusted Warfare in the past and I noticed that the game has a section for modding on it. It made me curious about what are some other mobile games that have modding?
