Android TV I got my hands on the new Chromecast Google TV. I wasn’t allowed to purchase just yet. But I did receive valuable information. The Walmart employee said they will be on sale on September 30th the same day the Google event takes place.

Does any device allow video apps (such as YTTV) to cast the audio to different devices like home minis or Chromecast audio?

I would love to be able to listen to games on my deck. If it's not possible yet, is there a reason behind it?

    Help with logging in.

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 08:17 AM PDT

Our restaurant uses Sony TV's to display our menus and out of nowhere, they all went to the Google login in screen. When we log in it says it's successful but goes back to the enter password screen. We use an app to display the menu and when we just launch the app it goes back to the Google login screen after an hour or so. Any help would be much appreciated.

AirPods only work with Philips TV after reboot?

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 08:05 AM PDT

I connect my AirPods to my 58PUS7304 Philips TV. Watch a movie. Everything is working fine. I am done using the AirPods and put them back in the case. After I take them from the case they refuse to connect to the tv. After I reboot the tv everything works fine again. It didn't use to be like that with the previous FW but the new one I did a few days ago messed something up. Is there any fix or something?

Youtube cast to Android TV now starts Youtube App instead of just casting.

    Posted: 25 Sep 2020 10:53 PM PDT

Today I just witnessed Cast Connect on Youtube app (https://9to5google.com/2020/08/06/cast-connect-android-tv-apps/)
I connected to my Android TV from Youtube App on Mobile and played a video, to my surprise I was able to control it from my Android TV remote.

A few specs for the new Chromecast with Google TV

    Posted: 25 Sep 2020 09:13 PM PDT

Thanks to fuzztub07 we have some more info on what's inside the new Chromecast. Here's a link to the post with the image link so you can give him some thanks if you want:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/googlehome/comments/iyxo56/pics_of_the_new_chromecast_w_google_tv/g6lxs1m/

The pictures he took are from running AIDA64. There's always a possibility it could read something incorrectly but it's usually pretty good. The one thing I'm not sure of is the storage. This says 4154MB total. A previous settings picture showed 4.4GB. We were assuming that was free storage out of 8GB. Now that is ambiguous.

So some things in the pics:

    2GB RAM

    4154 MB storage

    4 core ARM Cortex-A55 1908MHz

    64 bit ARMv8-A (32-bit mode)

You can look at the pics for more.

Already known from his previous posts:

    Android TV 10

4.4GB storage (either free storage, possibly out of 8GB, or total)

    USB-C power adapter

    2 AAA battery remote

    No IR on remote

Volume controls on remote control TV volume via CEC

Stadia app not currently available from Play Store

No built-in ethernet (he has not tried a USB-C adapter or hub)

    4K and HDR support

You can get more info in the thread in which the link above is contained.

Edit: Here is another thread from the same user with a lot of information as well - https://www.reddit.com/r/googlehome/comments/iz50fb/scrolling_through_the_chromecast_ui_for_those/

Also, it was $50 at Walmart.

    Gigantic youtube ad

    Posted: 25 Sep 2020 02:26 PM PDT

Started to notice today when i open YouTube I get a gigantic YouTube ad that takes up 2/3rd of the screen. What the hell Google. Anyone know if there is a way to remove it? I will start watching videos on other sites because of this. I put up with them increasing ad times and adding more adds before videos but this is just plain ridiculous.

How Amazon’s Luna cloud gaming service compares to Stadia, xCloud, and GeForce Now Amazon’s jumping into an increasingly crowded market

    Posted: 25 Sep 2020 10:41 AM PDT

"Amazon has just taken the wraps off its long-rumored Amazon Luna, meaning the company is officially jumping into the cloud gaming ring — one that has become increasingly crowded over the past year. Google launched Stadia last November, Nvidia's GeForce Now left beta in February, and Microsoft's cloud gaming offering (formerly known as xCloud) is included with a Game Pass Ultimate subscription as of September 15th, though it only works with Android right now.

The race is on to see which (if any) of those cloud gaming services takes off with customers, and each company is tackling cloud gaming in a slightly different way. If you're trying to better understand each service, we've put together this guide for you."

Does Sling TV finally work as a source within Live Channels?

    Posted: 25 Sep 2020 03:14 PM PDT

I remember seeing it as a channel source several months back but I never got it to work. I've been using a different device (Roku) since then but was thinking of going back to Android TV.

    My android tv is shit

    Posted: 25 Sep 2020 02:29 PM PDT

I have a Blaupunkt UHD 4K TV that is shit, it has the most horrible and shittiest OS I have ever seen, it is supposedly an android tv. When I enter there is this really bad GUI and it tells you which apps you have and the inputs you can access, firstly I used the TV os as the OS that will handle netflix and youtube (the only apps I use in a tv), but it was a really shitty experience, where apparently the OS was more PC focus which means that I needed a cursor in order to move around the movies, this was extremely bad, that's why Blaupunkt hace 2 controles, one really bad plastic controller and another which barely decent that connects via USB and has the cursor functionality, if I don't use that I can't use netflix which is the shittiest experience I ever had the controller didn't even moved the coursor so I had to put on the perfect spot in order to read it, my old gen dumb tv was way better. Then I decided to just don't use the OS of the TV, instead a family member gave me a chromecast which was really amazing, even though I need to use my phone every single damn time it was better because at least I can select the movie I want, even though the quality is infirior because you need to mantain your phone connected which is another thing that I hate about chromecast, at least it is waaaaaay more functional than the TV.

Then I bumped into another problem, every time I turned on the TV, it was the slowest shit I ever seen, it was like 30 seconds to one minute just to turn on, then I needed to use the shitty controller to select the HDMI 1 input in order to finally use chromecast, then I needed my phone to cast which is bad overall because the quality is lost, but I really like chromecast, the new chromecast looks pretty nice too.

The only thing that I want from this terrible OS is to, that every time I turn on the TV, it automatically enters the HDMI 1 port so I could chromecast more easily instead of waiting for the controller to function and then select manually, is there a way to do this? Pleaseee
