Rooting to record internal audio - does it work? Posted: 17 Aug 2020 08:39 AM PDT Hello. I have a device that will not get android 10 (atleast not in the foreseeable future). I am stuck with android 9 and that doesn't allow me to record internal audio. I have heard rooting your device can allow you to do this. I've heard people say if you don't know what rooting is, don't root. Thing is... I don't know how to root, never done it before, but everybody started out like me (noobs) and I really wanna do it. So my question is this; A) will rooting my device enable me to record internal audio? B) what guide or so would you recommend me to follow? I will literally only root to record internal audio, the other million things I can do doesn't really interest me other than perhaps removing bloatware, but that's for another time. Thanks! How can I clear my Samsung Galaxy S9 of intrusive Samsung apps? Posted: 17 Aug 2020 11:37 AM PDT Samsung continues to add unwanted applications to my phone that can't be disabled or deleted, including the Galaxy Store, Samsung Internet, Reminder, Tips, AR Zone, Duo, and others. I'd like to get rid of these completely. Is such a thing possible? I considered rooting my phone but I read that the American versions of this phone can't be rooted safely. I really wish companies didn't force this stuff on us considering we paid for these devices... [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Aug 2020 12:02 PM PDT I'm not a tech girl, like at all. I've had a iPhone of some kind or another for 8 yrs now and I'm over the battery life issues. I'm looking to upgrade to something with a good battery life. My "research" has guided me to the Moto G Power. I like the idea of the super long battery life and the price point! Is this a good option or do y'all have a better suggestion? [link] [comments] |
What would it take to get the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra working in US? i.e Google Play Services etc. Posted: 17 Aug 2020 10:02 AM PDT I am thinking of getting the new Pixel 5 (once announced and confirmed all specs), but if it is not up to what I am looking for I am thinking of the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, just not sure what it would take to get it working in the US as far as all the Google Services, would I need to root it? Is there a way to get Google Services added? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Aug 2020 10:57 AM PDT So I got an S20+ a few days ago, wanted to start using FancyKey but nothing's loading and when I try to download new items, they don't load and I keep getting either 'Download Failed' or 'Failed to Download'. Any alternatives for S20+ users? [link] [comments] |

WhatsApp on play store stuck on "waiting to download" Posted: 17 Aug 2020 01:17 PM PDT I have restarted phone, cleared cache in app settings, still no joy. Also seems to be the case trying to download any app from the store. I tap "install" and it loads into "waiting to download..." And stays on that endlessly. What do? [link] [comments] |
Android 9 APTX HD not working? Posted: 17 Aug 2020 01:12 PM PDT I recently bought this: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B07V2747GX/?coliid=I3BV5QK2EMG524&colid=2MJTQTPGPVDZV&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it As replacement for my way too loose aux port (making the cable inserted disconnect after movements, cleaning it didn't help) which is likely beyond repair (Not really comfortable with opening up my phone and replacing it either) so I bought that box, it works really great and I have no complaints about it. Just only one thing which I'm not even sure if it's caused by my phone or the box. No matter what I try, the box won't switch over to APTX HD, it defaults to APTX, and strangely AAC doesn't seem to work either (although my device supports both, even more evidenced by developer settings showing both options available) Is there any way I can resolve this and enjoy Aptx HD audio? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Aug 2020 01:12 PM PDT Hello I was wondering what the ups and downs of rooting is. I am considering rooting my Samsung a70 for spoofing in pokemon go. I was wondering if I can still use the play store and apps that are pre installed and if anything will get wiped Kind regards [link] [comments] |
Why Not Just Put Selfie Screens on the Back of Phones? Posted: 17 Aug 2020 12:44 PM PDT The mod team at /r/Android wanted this to be posted here instead for some reason. Not asking a question just talking about a feature suggestion so I guess it goes here? I don't get why they can't just get rid of the front facing cameras and use the cameras on the back of the phone and place a screen on the back for taking selfies. They could just have it only turn on when in the app in selfie mode. It'd make it so phones could go full screen again without needing any notch or cut-out. [link] [comments] |
Using a galaxy a11 and audios sound odd for a not very bad phone.. Posted: 17 Aug 2020 12:35 PM PDT On whatsapp my audios sound very sharp and low quality..on recorded videos too..i know if the mic is bad then this can't be solved but still i would like some help and thanks. [link] [comments] |
Very top of phone screen unresponsive Posted: 17 Aug 2020 12:33 PM PDT The very top of my galaxy s10e phone screen isn't working. Everywhere else is fine. I don't remember any damage to it, it seemed to be random. I can't pull down my notifications bar unless I flip my phone on it's side. I've cleaned the screen and removed the protector. I've done all the software updates. Taking it in tomorrow but I was wondering if anyone had this issue and knew how to fix it from h ome. [link] [comments] |

What is meant my hosting app in AWS? Posted: 17 Aug 2020 11:32 AM PDT Hello there! A freelancer here. One of my clients wants their android app to be built and hosted on AWS. I am still new to cloud domain so please explain to me what they mean by that. I just know about certain firebase features like Authentication, Realtime Database etc. But like how do you host a whole app on AWS and what's the use of that? Please explain like I am 5. Unlocked my S8 to switch carriers and 18 new apps auto-downloaded onto my phone Posted: 17 Aug 2020 11:31 AM PDT Last night, I unlocked my AT&T S8 phone in preparation to switch carriers using a friends MetroPCS sim card. The sim card was in my phone for only a minute, just long enough to boot up the phone and enter the activation code, after which the phone was shut down and my sim card was put back in. I later noticed that eighteen new apps had been downloaded onto my phone, mostly games, including two versions of candy crush, two versions of poker, and for some reason TikTok. I am confused as to how and why this happened, especially since they must have been installed after I put my AT&T sim card back in. I've tried googling but have not been able to find anything. I realized this in the middle of the night, and in my frustration forgot to take screenshots and instead immediately uninstalled them. There is no record of them under My Apps in the Play Store either. My best guess is that these could be the default apps that come with a new MetroPCS sim card/phone, but in that case I don't understand why the majority of those 18 apps were games. My friend also does not remember these apps coming preinstalled on his phone. To further complicate the mystery, the same sim card was used to unlock a J3 but no new apps were installed on that phone. Has anyone ever had this happen to them or know what may have caused it? This is making me slightly paranoid that other changes could also have been made (to settings or otherwise) that I am not aware of yet. Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Redmi Note 7: Android 10 update takes too long Posted: 16 Aug 2020 04:53 PM PDT Today my phone received the Android 10 update, after pressing Install & Reboot, the phone only shows a black screen with a loading circle in the middle. It's been like this for 5 hours. I don't know if it's safe to try to reboot the phone or if that could corrupt files. Is there any way I can do this safely? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Aug 2020 09:30 AM PDT Using a neffos Y7 as a secondary device for a few months. Around two weeks ago i started seeing flickering black lines on the top part of my screen, maybe only 2 or 3 of such black lines that would display the inverted color of what it was supposed to display and flicker. However a few days ago it got worse and would start off with a number of said black lines, but occasionally reflecting the bottom part of my screen to the top as can be seen in this photo. The number of such lines can be decreased temporarily if i decrease the screen brightness. However the number of these lines would begin growing on my screen until the entire screen would be filled up by these lines and flicker in reflecting other parts of the screen on these lines. The screen senses my touch and functions without any issues, I can still control the screen and press whatever I need to but I would barely be able to see what was on my screen due to the disgusting mess of lines. Is there a way I can fix this through software or is this a hardware issue? If I start off with a lower brightness the lines develop slower, a cooler phone also slows down the development of these lines. By leaving my phone off for awhile the lines also temporarily go away for the most part for a few minutes but come back real soon. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Aug 2020 08:50 AM PDT so i believe that my phone is hacked or cloned , i really can't tell , there have been weird stuff going on for example i will explain first the first why i started doubting that : i used my phone number for my facebook and whenever i login to my facebook i get unusual login notification but it's all good because it has my device and my ip adress and i know it's me who's just connected the problem is after a while i receive a text message from a random number not from facebook the text message contain : unusual login with fb.me link now the link is with https i once after a while clicked on one of the old links and it redirects me to a facebook page where you should provide information but still don't know if it's safe ofc i didnt give any informations i never receive the text message from the same number and the weird thing is the timing only when i login to my facebook and i get the unusual login notification i receive the text message so it's not a simple spam or phishing afterwards i did take off the phone number and the sim card from my phone and performed a factory reset only after that i noticed the following signs : i signed out of my facebook and massenger at night , but i was doing other stuff on my phone i woke up in the morning found out there was a login at 3 am , and left seen on a message someone sent me the problem is that the login was : with my phone and my ip adress so it's not like a hack and that's weird because i live alone so i know no one is gonna take my phone and use it and i was actually awake a 3 am the second thing one day i woke up and found that an app is deleted wich made me more suspicious , also i found that one of my emails was opened but i didn't read it , i didn't even get the notification now i'm not tech savvy and everyone i ask gives me no answer or explanation so this is my last hope , is there a way i can tell if my phone is hacked or have a spyware or cloned i looked for spyware through articles , but i don't have the obvious signs like : battery drain or pop up ads, my phone dosen't restart and my google accounts show that i'm only connected on my phone or pc so no one changed my password or took accounts . i even did reset my phone , but the weird stuff still happening i know it seems crazy and it actually make me wonder why would someone do that i mean if it's not for blackmailing me why would someone take the time to do this i'm really worried and please this is like my only help i know it's hard to know if my phone is hacked or not but is there a way to know the data going out of my phone and if so how can i get evidence . Drop down menu text message quick replies Posted: 17 Aug 2020 08:47 AM PDT Whenever I get a text message (or WhatsApp etc) while my screen is already on, the message will drop down from the top and I'll have a some contextual auto generated responses under it that I can click on like "yes", "no", "sure" etc. How do I disable these and what are they called? All I can find online is about the read aloud Google assistant feature or the quick response text to not answer phone calls. Thanks LG V40 thinq on Android 10 [link] [comments] |

Posted: 17 Aug 2020 04:38 AM PDT I know about the usual "no AirDrop, no iMessage, no Facetime, no ecosystem" but i barely ever use any of those features, and while i do have a macbook, my main pc is a windows so i'm not too bothered. Only real issue i have is losing the easy connectivity between my phone and airpods, but it's something i can live without. Any other, smaller things that i need to be aware of before making the switch? Not 100% sure i'll switch just yet, but am considering it since the price of the iphone 11 and the oneplus 8 pro are the same where i live, and the 8 pro is definitely better. If this is the wrong sub to ask this please direct to the appropriate one :) [link] [comments] |
