[DEV] Our game Pixelrama is starting a testing phase and we are looking for volunteers

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 06:38 AM PDT

    Hello there!

I'm making a game with some friends and we're looking for some feedback, so we hope you can help us.

The game is called Pixelrama and it's a puzzle game where you have to rotate paint-carrying pieces to form a pixel art drawing. It's not supposed to be the most challenging game, but not the dullest either. You can think of a mix of the classic jigsaw games and the old Pipe Mania games.

Here's a really early in development GIF

We really don't like ads and abusive IAP. So our plan is to make the game free with the option of buying puzzle packs. The launch plan is to have at least 50 free puzzles and one purchasable pack, with at least 50 puzzles as well. From that, we will see how it goes and we'll add more packs (and free puzzles) accordingly.

We're in early development, but since the game is simple, the core mechanic is already implemented and we currently have a little bit more than 60 puzzles. You can see some of the puzzles so far in this post.

So, if you are interested in helping us build Pixelrama, please check out this form.

We are trying to keep a devlog here at our website.

You can also check our Twitter.

If you have any questions or comments, please, feel free to do so.

    Thanks for your time :)

EDIT: Thanks to everyone who signed up! But don't be shy, we're here to talk as well :)

Simple Match 3 Game WITHOUT RPG ELEMENTS

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 09:15 AM PDT

While this subreddit does recommend good Match 3 games, I just want one without the RPG elements. I'm looking for a game like Candy Crush or Bejeweled, but without the paywall or excessively hard levels. Games like 10000000, Gems of war, and Triple Town just aren't for me. Any suggestions?

[REQUEST] Non-Freemium/P2W Landscaping/Decoration/Fashion game? Willing to pay upfront or after demo.

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 09:45 AM PDT

Are there any fashion or house/landscaping decoration games that aren't hostilely freemium? Willing to pay for it up front or to remove ads. I just find them super relaxing. City builders are also acceptable but I tend to lose interest after a while.

    Mobile Game Suggestion

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 07:52 AM PDT

Hey y'all, I'm a big fan of the formula of games like afk arena and summoners war; however, I hate the fact that advancing past a certain point requires luck and grinding not skill. Any game suggestions that reward skill and determination and not luck, grinding, and a fat wallet? Thanks!

My small review of Caves (RogueLike)

    Posted: 16 Aug 2020 09:34 PM PDT

Sorry if there are any mistakes. English is not my native language

"Roguelike is a subgenre of RPG games that are characterized by random level generation, turn-based gameplay, tile-based graphics, and permanent death of the player-character."

Caves is a very smooth and polished game. The sound effects are pretty amazing. This game is a little bit underrated.

The polished ui is very good and there are tons of weapons, Armors, and.... Pretty much everything you could ask for a RogueLike adventure.

The mobs looks really cool and each mob has its own bestiary, a attribute and there are lots of different mobs, by lot, I mean a lot.

There are only a few iap's. The one is remove ads and the other one is you can buy gems and coins.

Tbh you can easily get gems and coins in the game so it's very f2p. And ads are almost non existent, since you only get a side bar ad below when you only open your inventory. But buying the remove ads option is a pretty cool way to support the dev :)

Tldr: Caves is a really good, polished RogueLike with depth and is very f2p friendly

    Regarding controllers

    Posted: 16 Aug 2020 11:12 PM PDT

Looking for recommendations for wireless controllers for Android. I know of Ipega and 8bitdo, but not sure of which model would be good, and if there are other brands worth looking into.

I also want to know if any Bluetooth controller will work. Also, will using an adapter to plug a dongle for a 2.4 GHz controller work?

I will be using em to play MOBAs and ARPGs.

    Many thanks, friends.

    [DEV] A Sudoku-style mini-game within a "serious" app

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 05:05 AM PDT

Some time ago I had the idea to develop a Sudoku-type game. Mostly because I wanted to know if I could program the logic behind creating Sudoku puzzles.

I achieved that, but because the game would be too "mini" for being published as a separate app, I have decided to put it within my serious app "Consumption Manager" and its called "Symbol-Puzzle", because it uses different symbols out of this application.

The link to the app is here. As I said, the app is called "Consumption Manager" and the game can be accessed via the app menu in the top right corner or via the toolbar at the bottom (push the button at the far right).

I'd be glad if you could take a look and provide some feedback. I am also considering to extend the Symbol-Puzzle in the near future and maybe make it a stand-alone gaming app.

    Thank you very much.

[Request] Games that take simple, well-established existing games and add a new spin and overall progression.

    Posted: 16 Aug 2020 10:16 PM PDT

I am a fan of simple games like solitaire and minesweeper because of how mindless and relaxing they can be with some practice. Despite having several of these games on my phone, however, I find myself drawn to other stuff more. I would really like games that have some sort of goal to the games, but the actual gameplay is pretty much the same.

Examples of such simple games are solitaire, minesweeper, 2048, and sudoku, among others.

    Bonus if it incorporates multiple.

I'd prefer the game to be free and offline friendly.

The only game I've found like this is Minesweeper Collector. The different board shapes are fun and working towards pets and such is a good rewarding goal. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=air.com.griffgriffgames.minesweeper

Please no matching games like candy crush.

[REQUEST] Good fantasy RPGs on Android?

    Posted: 16 Aug 2020 05:49 PM PDT

I've been really into D&D and retro role-playing games, but can't find many on the Play Store that I haven't already got bored of. I'm looking for retro pixel art or a unique style, a lot of roleplay elements and player freedom, and cool fantasy stuff. (Anything under 2 dollars bc im poor)

[REQUEST] Games that I can play offline, and save progress online when feasible

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 02:29 AM PDT

I love games like pubg or clash of clans, but I can't always have Internet connection. And almost all offline games I've liked don't have the option to save progress.

Candy Crush is an excellent example of the type of game I'm looking for; I can play offline and when I can come online, I can save my progress. But I don't really like matching games. So ya'll know of some other games that can be played offline, but can be backed up with maybe my own fb or Google accounts, or the game's own database?

I'm open to all types and genres other than matching, card and casino games, as long as they're free.

    Thanks!
