How to set usb host to automatically power an external device?

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 08:12 AM PDT

I have an Android 10 phone (Poco F2 Pro) and I need to power an external device using an otg cable. The fact is that this feature doesn't seem to work properly. I had to download "serial USB terminal" app from the store and select the connected device to properly power my device. Are there some settings that I need to check to make it work automatically?

Previous iPhone user recently got a Samsung phone, is there a way to check voicemail via an app like iPhone? I have verizon, and their "visual voicemail" app is stuck on "still downloading" because I refuse to pay more for visual voicemail. Is there a way to check voicemail other than dialing *86?

    Google Play Family Share problems?

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 06:28 AM PDT

I posted this to /r/googleplay but haven't gotten a response.

I currently have a single google play account we login on each android device for the family. All apps are purchased on that account and it's easy. I started this years ago before there were other options. I'd like to turn on some of the kid features to limit their devices. It looks like I have to convert my account to a family share account so they kid accounts can access the purchased apps. Are there any limitations or restrictions once I do that? Is there a way to "un family share" an account or is it a one way conversion?

I will likely leave all of the adult devices logged into the main account since it works.

I'd like new features, just don't want to break anything I already have.

Anyone used the Family Share for apps and how did it work?

How do I remove FRP from SM-T560NU Samsung Tab E

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 12:09 PM PDT

I was using my personal account on a Samsung Galaxy TAB T560NU, and add an account for my kids there. The reason was that I was using "Screen Time," and my kids find a way to play. By creating another account. So this way, he can't create any account.

Once I decide to remove my account, and only made his one the primary one. The tablet refuse my PIN and I forget what was the PIN I created, so I hard-reset the tablet. And got stock in FRP !

Google said to use the "Previous account" that was there… but when I try it, not working !

I wait 24 hrs, and retry again… the same story. Tonight, I will have wait 72 hours ! (some thread said 72 hours waiting time). But in case it's not working, I need a working solution (I got the latest firmware available for this tablet).

Here most of this I did to try to fix this lock :

    Google Device Manager :

I try to check in Google.com/android/devicemanager . Cant see my tablet here. Maybe because I delete all unused device there few months ago. (Also try this location with my kid account. Only see his phone there)

Try my kids account (as the original account). In case I was wrong. Not working, and when I choose another account "unexpected error." I reboot, try mine (refused) that his (unexpected error).

I try Odin and firware flash this XAC-T560NUUEU1AOK1-20151214112617

no luck ! I try multiple unlock tools. No luck (most of them required debugging enable. But it's not enable) !

I try the USB Stick with an APK to unlock. Nothing appears. It seems that most "trick" that was there were disable with the latest security patch from Samsung.

Samsung said that if we want to unlock the tablet that "GOOGLE" locked, we need to go to a Samsung authorized dealer, and pay 70$ to unlock something we own, that has been locked by Google. Even if I have my original invoice with me (purchase in July 2017 at Costco)

nd I can go on it with the original account that was on the tablet (it was my account).

This RFP process looks like the CryptoLock... Hacker locked your file and then ask a bounty to unlock it... Now Google lock your device and ask to go somewhere and pay to unlock it.

I'm sure Google has my unique serial # in their database that proof it was the original account attached to it (I doubt they delete that information, as this is their core business model to track users and sent them advertisements).

Anyone can help ? Is there something I can do with Odin ?

Meanwhile, the only "Free" firmware copy I found (it was hard to find it) is the one I specified on this thread. And it's still RFP Lock (Samobile charge now to download firmware on their site. it was free in the past)

How to find what's constantly playing my notification sound?

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 08:12 AM PDT

My phone is on vibrate 99% of the time. I only turn on ringtone sounds when I'm expecting an important call or message.

Recently, my phone has been playing my default notification sound every min or so. There are no actual new notifications when that happens. Any idea what it could be or how can I find it out?

I have an app that keeps a history of my recent notifications. Nothing unusual there.

The phone is Pixel 2 XL running Android 10 and is up to date.

Best way to add music files to an external MicroSD Card and keep it organized?

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 11:50 AM PDT

Motorola G Power (US) phone. On my old iPod I could just drag and drop the music files from iTunes and it was speedy and not cluttered, bit with my motorola phone, I have to open up my music folder on my desktop and can only add a few artists/albums at a time since it's so slow...not to mention, after adding them the cover photos then start appearing in the Pictures album of my phone with the pictures I take with my phone, so my regular pictures get diluted by the cover art photos. My iPod didn't have that problem.

Is there a way to speed up the music adding process that I'm missing? And is there a way to keep the album photos out of the Pictures of my phone so they don't clog up that folder when looking for a picture to upload to social media or text? Only thing I can think of is to just delete the album photos manually after adding the music to the SD Card.

Can anyone please try and help

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 04:12 AM PDT

I consider myself very familiar with Android. But... Somehow with the Google app or apart of Google search. I made it so everyday at 8:15 A.M. my phone automatically does a Google search and gives me a notification of what the Bitcoin price is. I was able to even name it and I labeled it Daily Bitcoin Price. Here's my question. How to I delete that? I've looked through everything. Anyone able to tackle this? Please and thank you.

Photos not saving to SD card and not all photos showing on the internal memory.

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 11:15 AM PDT

I recently got my mother a Nokia 5.3 and a 200GB sd card. When I take pictures not all of them show up on google photos. For example, I take three in a row of different things and only one shows up. And at the bottom other ones from a strange date like "1 Jan 1970". I want the photos to be saved on my sd card. This does not happen. They get saved on the internal memory. This problem has been frustrating me. I cannot seem to find any proper solution. If anybody can help I greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

A message pops up everytime I hang up a call or stop mobile data. Its extremely annoying. Can anyone please tell me how I can stop this?

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 07:21 AM PDT

I live in Bangladesh and here telecom operators provide you with these messages every time you finish a call or turn off mobile data. The messages pop up in your screen showing you the credit balance left. There is also a space for you to type although hitting send does nothing since the message comes from a noreply sender.

Now this is extremely annoying. Not only that when you are in a hurry and you just finished your call and placed the mobile in your pocket, you might have accidentally types on the blank space.

Can someone tell me how I can turn this off?

    Malware or virus on phone?

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 10:26 AM PDT

I was browsing reddit last night on a thread about Spotify and how it uses it's discover weekly. Someone posted about some extension related to it, and I simply clicked the link to read about it, but it re-directed me to a site with pop ups wanting permissions. I didn't "allow" it and exited out of that screen.

This morning when I woke up, I had 21 notifications from my internet browser that says "we will lock your phone soon. Too much spam..." And when I clicked on the notification settings, it says it's coming from this site. https://mntpp.bidverdrd.com. So I disabled notifications from that site via settings, and the notifications have stopped. But what is this?? I downloaded multiple anti-virus and malwarebytes and they all had clean scans. I can't find anything about this on an Android device. Can anyone help me out?? I have a Galaxy s9.

    Need help please

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 09:46 AM PDT

Sorry if this was covered at some point but this is my first post. I have an LG G Stylo and the other day it shut down by itself and when I put it back on there was a white lock screen that I never saw before. It said "enter password" and "30/30 attempts remaining". I tried all the passwords I know and nothing works. Also, I can't do a factory reset because it says "no command" and no combinations of buttons changes that.

Does the whole (entire) baseband version matter when you choose a stock firmware to flash your smartphone with ?

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 07:09 AM PDT

Sorry for my bad english and also my lack of knowledge". I have a Galaxy S7 Edge (AT&T) that i bought from Ebay for an acceptable price. The Baseband Version is : "G935AUCU4BQA6" My problem is that the phone is on Android Nougat 7.0, and thats not the only problem because i found out that AT&T is the first carrier to roll out the Oreo android version in the US. So i did some research and noticed that my smartphone is the one of the few if not the only smartphone version that haven't received the update yet and most likely will never receive it. So the question is: Can i update my smartphone by flashing another version's firmware using Odin because they share the same coding structure which is : "G935AUC4XXXX" or it will just cause my S7 Edge to freeze ?

Looking for tips for using 'Google Find My Device' app

    Posted: 02 Aug 2020 11:19 PM PDT

For the past few years, my wife and I have been using Google's Find My Device to keep tracking of our phones, tablets and computers, and it's been great, even helping us to wake each other up if one is away from home early in the morning! However, after upgrading our respective devices a few days ago, my wife's phone no longer shows up on my copy of Find My Device, though my phone is still on her's.

To be honest, I never really paid attention to it before, but I'm assuming both devices should have my Google account logged in on them (which they do) and Find My Device should be set to the same account (mine) which they are. I'm assuming that she hasn't turned on some setting or other, which is why her phone isn't showing up on my device. So what is it that I'm missing?

I've tried searching for the issue, but all results seem to come from a year of more back, and now Android looks different to what's on our phones. So here I am asking. If anyone has any suggestions on what might work, I'd be very appreciative of the help. TIA!

    Developer options keep resetting

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 01:52 AM PDT

Whenever I change some of the options in developer settings, such as changing ACTIVE standby apps to RARE or turning on force 4x MSAA, I always find them switched back to default options every time I reopen the settings app and head back to developer options. Is there any fix for this?

Edit: I'm on an unrooted Galaxy S8 and this problem is mainly for standby apps
