| Posted: 30 Aug 2020 09:22 AM PDT Hello everyone, I'm looking for any recommended free/non-annual subscription based Android App recommendation for a substitute for Microsoft 365. For years, I've used OpenOffice on my Windows PCs/laptops to create and edit documents and spreadsheets. And on Android, I've used OfficeSuite app. At some point, I purchased the premium version of OfficeSuite. The drawback to OfficeSuite is that it doesn't support .odt files with passwords. Also, lately, OfficeSuite keeps prompting me to sign up for an annual subscription for $19.99 a year. I'm tempted to start purchasing a Microsoft Office 365 personal subscription for around $70 a year, just to avoid all of the hassles of trying to get by with OpenOffice and my previously paid for OfficeSuite app. Are there any Android App recommendations for Microsoft 365 substitutes these days? I'm looking for something that doesn't have ads and is geared more toward a one time premium purchase rather than annual subscriptions. Thanks to anyone who has input. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 30 Aug 2020 10:36 AM PDT Hi y'all So, today I tried a little hunch I had and removed the SDcard and using an SDcard adapter inserted the adapter into my pc to extract the audio, video, photos, etc files before I could reinsert into the photo and formate the SDcard to remove any issues causing the trouble posted in original post. When o was connecting the phone with the card inserted and even in the phone itself the card kept showing as write-protected but the card adapter trick worked, despite it showing locked in phone and when accessed in pc still inserted in phone, I was also to extract all the files...they are working and accessable with the card currently removed from pc... Alas! I was left annoyed and bewildered soon there-after. After going into Samsung S10e settings and pressing formate option for the SDcard, it doesn't apparently formate for some reason!?...it shoes that it is formatting and a "process" does seem to happen but after the completion the card space (that was 55/59 for the 64gb card) stays the same (55 out of 59) and what's more all files are intact and card is still write-protected further enforcing that the formatting process did nothing at all...why is THIS happening now??...isn't the purpose of formatting option to formate, erase and empty the whole card!! 🧐 Please help and do lemme know asap!! Posted: 30 Aug 2020 06:57 AM PDT Is there a way to stop Android Auto / Google Maps from displaying this "Driving with Google Maps" notification: https://i.imgur.com/LNsxKbZ.jpg The problem is that I stopped driving yesterday and it still displays. It shows up forever even after the maps application is closed and the only way to dismiss it is to click the down arrow and select "Exit Navigation"... even though Android Auto and Google Maps are not running. | Posted: 30 Aug 2020 12:05 PM PDT For some reason my Xperia 10 plus has a screen which plays up. Sometimes it will freeze then I just turn it of and on again and it is fine. It also sometimes randomly taps every where on the screen for a few seconds when I haven't tapped anywhere. I'm not sure when this started but it's has been going on for a while. Posted: 30 Aug 2020 11:35 AM PDT I'm on Android 10, and recently (after updating from 9, maybe?) it just started killing apps several seconds after I leave them. For example, I accidentally click an imgur album link on reddit, then immediately go back, and reddit just resets. Same goes with notifications. I leave an app to see a message, and it gets killed right as I click the notification. This has become unbearable recently. And way to slow down killing apps? Thanks in advance [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 30 Aug 2020 09:56 AM PDT When I tried to google this problem all of the searches are about the apps inside the Play store not updating, but my case is that the Play store ITSELF refuses to find any updates. So I have been sitting on an ancient version of Google Play, and when I click on the version number in settings, a dialogue pops up saying "Google Play is up to date" or something similar. I have checked on APK Mirror and there is indeed a newer version of the Play store on there, but my Play store doesn't think it exists. I could sideload it, but it would be painful every time it receives an update, so is there a fix for it? My phone is P30 Pro and, as far as the Google ban is concerned, it doesn't seem to affect this Huawei since the Play Service regularly updates itself without trouble. [link] [comments] |

I was looking for how turn off safe mode and there's that thing that you do pressing the power and sound down buttons. The broblem is that the power button and the volume down button don't work. | Posted: 30 Aug 2020 09:29 AM PDT So a little while ago, I tried installing a custom ROM on my Motorola Razr Maxx XT910 (UK version), however, it didn't install correctly. it did say the install had succeeded, but after rebooting, it wouldn't boot properly at all. Now, the custom recovery is gone and so is any form of OS on the phone. I've been trying to look for the stock firmware for the phone, but with no luck. I've been meaning to use the phone as an MP3 player as my nexus 5 only has 32GB built in storage, and obviously has no option for an SD Card slot. if anyone could help me find the correct firmware for the phone so I can use adb sideload to install it with, that would be greatly appreciated. Somehow my keyboard's default search is now Bing. I don't mean the browser's default, or the phone's default; this only happens on the pop-up menu when I select text (in any app). Is there a way to add plugin features to the camera app? Are there features already here? I cant tell because half of everything is buried under layers of inscrutable menus. Now that im looking at it the camera video mode has no features beyond brightness adjustment and what resolution it records at. | Posted: 30 Aug 2020 06:58 AM PDT I want to relock a phone, a OnePlus 3, but the oem lock and flashing lock commands don't do anything. It comes up with a screen warning me my data will be deleted which I confirm then it just restarts back to the warning page that my phone is unlocked with fastboot still saying my bootloader is unlocked. I don't know if get_unlock_ability has anything to do with it but I am completely stumped as to what to do at this point. [link] [comments] |

The latter two have really excellent charing, but they use proprietary chargers and cables. For people who own any of these phones, did you find it hard or expensive over time? | Icelandic unavailable on Android 9.1.0? Posted: 30 Aug 2020 02:20 AM PDT I'm a learner of Icelandic and, just like I do with other languages, I like to put my phone in the language I'm learning (helps with vocabulary and stuff). I just tried to do it with Icelandic and discovered it's not on the list of supported languages. I was surprised since very minor languages of all around the world are available. I thought maybe it was region-restricted for some reason and decided to change my region to Iceland.... And couldn't find it in the list. So either I'm incredibly blind (which could happen you never know), or Iceland isn't a place where you can get android support...? Anyone with knowledge about it or ideas to solve the problem? I'm on a Huawei Honor 9 Lite, with Android 9/EMUI 9.1.0 TL;DR can't find Icelandic as a system language or Iceland as a system region on Android 9.1.0 [link] [comments] |

Posted: 30 Aug 2020 04:03 AM PDT I installed [ROM][UNOFFICIAL][m8qlul] LineageOS 15.1 for HTC One M8sa few days ago and have encountered an issue where audio seems to work fine on normal calls, WhatsApp calls, and in video, but in WhatsApp (and Messenger) video calls although I can hear and see the other person they can see me but cannot hear me. All permissions for WhatsApp are enabled. I cleared data, uninstalled, rebooted, and then reinstalled but observed the same issue. Is there anything else worth trying? [link] [comments] |
