Best Android OS for my old 32 bit computer Posted: 09 Aug 2020 06:15 AM PDT Hey there, I was trying to install an Android OS to my old computer that had a Windows 7. I installed remix os via USB but now it's only working with USB and when I try to install windows 7 again it gives error as "windows cannot be installed to this disk. the selected disk is of the gpt partition style" I tried to install other Android OS such as cloud ready and phoenix and prime os but failed. What is your suggestions for: 1- how to install windows 7 first and 2- which Android OS should I install [link] [comments]

| Where are boot.img and bootloader files stored? Posted: 08 Aug 2020 10:16 PM PDT I want to flash a patched boot.img (patched by magisk – magisk_patched.img). I think that the boot.img is the file responsible for booting into download mode (isn't it?). And hence, if I messed up during the flashing process, my phone won't boot even in the bootloader mode, so I will not be able to flash the stock firmware/ROM again (basically I think that messing up boot.img will end up in a hard brick). If both are stored somewhere separate, and mending with boot.img won't cause any harm to the bootloader mode, then I am good to go, but if it is not the case, then I will have to change the plan of flashing the magisk_patched.img. | Any rooted users out there know a way to set notifications to off by default? Posted: 09 Aug 2020 08:05 AM PDT To clarify I would like to be able to install an app, and immediately have its notification set to off rather than on. I tried to look through magisk to see if there's a way to do this but I can't find a module that does, does anybody know way to do this? [link] [comments] |
Help, searching for an android game from 2014-2018 Posted: 09 Aug 2020 08:04 AM PDT So I'm looking for an adroid game. In it you played as some sort of a gang member and it was generaly gang/mafia related. I think the game had cartoony graphics. You played in a first person point of view and I believe the weapon that you held was a double barrel sawed off shotgun. You had to tilt your phone to play and I think that you also had 3 buttons on the screen located right on the bottom. I think that you could participate in multiplayer duels and also storyline. In the story line you had to defeat mafia bosses. I think that one of the bosses was a woman and she hung you by a chain thus turning your view upside down and you had to free yourself from the chain. If you remeber or have any information regarding the game please comment. Thank you! [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Aug 2020 11:46 AM PDT I'm looking for a messaging service that works between iPhone and Android that isn't connected to Facebook (Messenger, WhatsApp) but I'm still concerned about my privacy. Is Telegram a good option that I can trust? If not, what would you all recommend? [link] [comments]
Is there a way to restore files from trash/.../storage/emulated/0? Posted: 09 Aug 2020 11:45 AM PDT Because I used 98% of my storage so I tried to clear up some spaces. I deleted some file that I thought I won't be using any longer and found out that those are all my pictures downloaded, still at this point the used storage is still 98%. I was trying to find where those videos and pictures went to by using an app called Storage Analyzer & Disk Usage, I found those videos and pictures I deleted. It said they are now in "trash/.../storage/emulated/0" I can view those medias from that app but when I connect my phone to my computer and follow that same file path, there is nothing in there. What can I do to restore or retrieve them back. Thank you very much! [link] [comments]
does computer viruses harm android devices? Posted: 09 Aug 2020 11:41 AM PDT so, i have this old laptop that has some kind of malware (trojan worm i think? i'm not very sure & im also not that good with computers) that generates a .exe file in every folder that re-generates when i delete it and when i open it it opens the documents screen (i'm not very sure, it has been a while since the last time i opened that laptop) but you hopefully get what i'm talking about there's some pictures and stuff in there that i wanna move to an another computer or even my phone, will the virus harm my phone in any case?? or if i just use a flash drive will it harm my other pc? this might not be the best place to ask but i hope ill either get some answers or somebody tells me where to find on thanks in advance [link] [comments]
Xperia Z1c won't turn on, cant figure out whats wrong. Posted: 09 Aug 2020 11:08 AM PDT Hello! I recently repaired my Z1c which was without a display for about 2 years, after I got it replaced I left it to charge, waited for the LED to turn green, I would go to turn it on, and after about 3 seconds of holding the power button it turned red, and blinked once every 3 seconds, googling around I can't seem to find what it means anymore, and based off of what I HAVE found it supposedly means that the battery is too hot, however, the phone doesn't feel hot at all, so I'm pretty confused. Oddly though, I do see that the backlight turns on, but nothing happens, and holding the hardware reset button doesn't make the phone vibrate at all, I'm pretty stumped because I have no idea if it's the battery that's super dead, or if It wont start because the storage I guess, went bad and now it can't detect android at all, hopefully I can figure it out because I don't want to get a battery just yet until I know for sure what the problem is. Thanks my dudes. [link] [comments]
Best video app for Huawei Mate 20 Lite? Filmic Pro? Posted: 09 Aug 2020 10:59 AM PDT Hi all, So I'm using my Huawei Mate 20 Lite to film for YouTube, and it's surprisingly good for its price point, with the Leica lenses and all. However, I am having trouble finding the right app to get the best results. The standard camera app doesn't allow manual control of anything, so I always get unexpected exposure changes mid-take due to cloud movement or people wearing black clothes. When shooting from a tripod, I use the front camera to avoid the autofocus motor hunting around. I installed Open Camera, which gave me nice manual control over the exposure, focus and white balance, but it's absolutely woeful at capturing motion. It produces incredibly choppy videos at 30fps, kind of like a video call on weak or unstable signal. Has anyone here filmed on this phone with a third party app and produced successful results? I know Filmic Pro is by all accounts the best Android video recording app, and I'd be happy to splash the cash on it, but it wouldn't be great to spend that money just to end up with the same motion capture problems as Open Camera. Thanks in advance for any advice. [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Aug 2020 10:55 AM PDT Hey! Today I have experienced and observed very obscure problems with charging my phone. It all started when my charger (Power supply + USB Type C cable) stopped loading my phone to 100% overnight. Charging was stopped at 17% and it didn't connect to my phone anymore (charging icon doesn't show up when connected). I did few experiments: I removed the cable from the power supply and connected it to my laptop instead and then another old power supply that I had. My phone started charging as usual and connection completed with the charging icon was made with both power supplies (computer and another charger power supply). I then connected my Samsung tablet to the same (assumed broken) power supply with another cable (microUSB) and it started loading with charging icon showing up. I have now confirmed that the both (old) power supply and cable work independently but not with each other. So I decided to buy new cord, because I thought the most likely scenario is that the cable was broken in some way. Something must be broken. When I came home with the brand new USB cable I tried to pair it with the assumed broken power supply, but it still didn't connect with my phone. I then tried to connect my phone to another old power supply with the new cable and it worked. I believe all my old power supplies are broken and slow as well so I am currently loading my phone with my computer as power supply. What can be the problem if all the parts work with some pairing? USB cables work with my laptop and old power supplies, power supply works with my other devices. My phone charges when USB cable works. It can't be the cable, because I bought brand new one. It must be the phone? But how can my phone discriminate only this one power supply when my tablet doesn't? [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Aug 2020 10:39 AM PDT Hey guys and gals, Trying to use my Samsung S20 as a Bluetooth speaker so I can have my firestick plugged into a computer monitor but am unable to find either one whilst scanning for Bluetooth - phone doesn't show up on firestick, firestick doesn't show up on phone whilst searching... I take it this just means that I can't do this, I have had a search around online and in the app store but no luck, I was hoping someone may have found a way before I buy a bluetooth speaker? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]

Nokia 7 Plus has short battery life after using USB-C headphone amplifier Posted: 09 Aug 2020 04:09 AM PDT I used a USB headphone amplifier with my Nokia 7 Plus for the first time 2 days ago. Ever since then my phone battery doesn't last long, even after disconnecting the amplifier and its cable. On standby it only lasts 8-10 hours, even on airplane mode. Before that it would easily run for 3 days at least on standby. The phone is 2 years old and battery life was normal before I used the amplifier (a Tempotec Sonata HD Pro to be exact). I've ran Kapersky antivirus, restarted the phone, optimised battery usage with an app. I checked what apps were using power and it was just my normal ones, no new apps were there. The phone charges quite quickly using the fast charger. Any ideas on what to do. The phone is borderline unusable due to the short battery life now. Nothing else has changed expect the headphone amplifier which I've used only once. Thanks [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Aug 2020 10:06 AM PDT I am using an older version of an app because it's better. How can I keep it from updating in the playstore? So far I've disabled it from auto-updating. I'm rooted if that helps. Thanks [link] [comments]
Bookmarks gone in Chrome Android after Reset Sync Posted: 09 Aug 2020 09:12 AM PDT I've been using Chrome for a few years now on Android, but I never noticed sync was turned off. I tried to turn it on, but got an error that sync was not working, and that I should Reset Sync. When I clicked Reset Sync it clearly stated that the data on my device will not be deleted. However it was, and now I don't have my bookmarks any longer. What did I do wrong here? Is there any way to get the bookmarks from my Android phone? [link] [comments]
Phone not fast charging anymore Posted: 08 Aug 2020 11:13 PM PDT Since the latest update to Android 10 a few weeks ago my phone has not fast charged at all and loses battery a lot more quickly. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy A6 which I've had since March 2019. There is no option to turn it on in settings and when I plug in my cable it just says cable charging rather than fast. Any suggestions to what I can do? [link] [comments]

| Posted: 08 Aug 2020 11:17 PM PDT Is it normal to have hidden system apps? I have an A50 Samsung and there are two system apps: Main components and Android Services Library. | Posted: 09 Aug 2020 06:46 AM PDT My mam's phone has this problem, I've checked all settings and can't find anything that would cause regular phone calls to be silent but Whatsapp, Skype etc calls to work fine. I wondered whether it might be a problem with the network/sim, but the calls connect fine, there's just no sound once they do. Any suggestions for how to fix this would be greatly appreciated, thanks! Edited to add: We've tried a factory reset, but it didn't fix it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Aug 2020 12:45 AM PDT Hello guys I have a Xiaomi Black Shark 2 with the last version of JoyUi (basically Miui) and today it seems that the charging port (USB-C) got wet somehow. I have followed the onscreen instructions that appear when you push the notification and the problem persists, even though hours have gone by. The instructions where as follow: - Shake the device with energy so that the water comes out - Try to clean it with a paper towel or cotton to get rid of the moisture - Wait for a few hours (unspecified amount) are use a fan or hair dryer (cold air mode) to dry it quicker. This happenned yesterday morning when I was by the pool, at ten or so, and it is now 9:00 am of the following day and I still see the same warning when I turn on the phone. At the pool I just shook it and dried it with a dry cloth and just waited. Two hours later I got home and the phone showed an icon as if the headphones were plugged in. I quickly turned the phone off, got the hair dryer, and aimed it at the port. When I switched the phone back on the headphones showed as unplugged but the wet port warning had come back. I have also tried to put it in rice for the night and the problem persists. I can't see any moisture. I have even plugged some usb-c headphones that I have with the device turned off, and when I unplugged them, they were completely dry. The phone works just fine when I turn it off, but I am afraid to charge it (the warning says to not charging until the warning disappears). [link] [comments]
Nokia 6.2 camera problem after Android 10 update Posted: 09 Aug 2020 02:55 AM PDT Ever since I installed the official Android 10 update on my Nokia 6.2 (4/64) I've been facing a camera issue. Camera stops working every few hours and does not work until I restart the phone. Every single app shows blank screen when I use camera like camera app, Instagram, Whatsapp and Facebook etc. I have tried everything like clearing cache, resetting settings, changing permissions and even reset my phone multiple times but the issue still remains. The only solution is to restart the phone after which it works for some hours and stops working eventually. I have my Nokia 6.2 for two months now and it's really frustrating that every time I have to take a shot I have to restart my phone, some moments don't last that long. I called the customer service but they don't seem to know anything at all, they just have one solution for every goddamn problem that is ofcourse resetting the phone. Is anyone facing or have faced a similar problem? If someone has the solution then please help a friend out. [link] [comments]
