    [Research] "Hardcore" in mobile games

    Posted: 08 Aug 2020 05:23 AM PDT

Hey, I am a game developer on mobile games, to be precise, a games designer.

Just wanted to hear some ideas. What do you think about "Hardcore" elements in moible games?

The reason of the question is that whenever someone mentions that word in a mobile game studio, people first word is "No no no no no, we need to make it casual and accessible as if it was a 3 year old game"

But the reality is that one of the most popular genres, Battle Royales, is basically a game where 1 player wins, 99 players lose.
    Isn't this... hardcore?

What do you guys think about having a game like "Escape from Tarkov" (a PC game where you bring to Raids some of the gear you have collected and try to escape) which basically is a multiplayer with the Minecraft mechanic, that if you die, you loose all the current gear you are wearing?

Any fun games that have controller support?

    Posted: 08 Aug 2020 08:34 AM PDT

So I (accidentally) bought 3 Bluetooth controllers just this month (corona retail therapy).

I'm bored of playing on emulators atm, any games you guys can recommend that has controller support? Im currently testing out brawlhalla but the lag is a no go.

    Posted: 08 Aug 2020 10:10 AM PDT

Like the title suggested, I'm looking for games like bombsquad, especially the feature: party game, can be played by two players in the same phone (require 2 gamepad or more), and its competitive (it can be fighting or bombsquad kind of genre). Thank you.

[Dev] My very first game, Speedy Needles.

    Posted: 07 Aug 2020 10:57 PM PDT

    Hey all,

This is my first game I've made with Unity while messing around and learning my way around the platform. It's basically a flappy bird-esque game (and not even a good one, so set your expectations low) where the pillars get increasingly faster. I'm not looking for reviews or anything (or even feedback really unless it just flat out crashes on your device) of the gameplay itself but I just wanted to go through the process of making something, creating a Google Play dev account, publishing it, and seeing if it works for other people. Free, no ads, no weird permissions. Thanks, all!

    [Request] a flight simulator

    Posted: 07 Aug 2020 06:31 PM PDT

can you guys recommend me a good flight simulator for the Android?

like, I'm searching for a game here that:

    • is a bit more complex and has lots of stuff to do.

    • has more stuff to do other than just fly/drive away.

    • doesn't have an arbitrary energy system, like "you can't play this level right now, wait until tomorrow or pay"

    • preferably an airplane simulator, but any vehicle works (even trucks, mechs and etc.)

    • isn't to simple or generic

I played a bit of Simple planes, and now I'm in the mood for simulators on the go.
