FYI: VPNs don't work over multiple profiles in Android Posted: 15 Jul 2020 08:58 AM PDT I actually ran into this a while ago and thought it'd be interesting to share for those who didn't realize this and may want to know for privacy reasons or whatever. If you have multiple profiles on your phone, i.e. your main profile and a work profile, and if you connect to a VPN, your traffic will go through the VPN on that particular profile but the traffic in the other won't. I stumbled upon this because I use Shelter to isolate certain apps. I noticed one day when I connected to my home VPN on my main profile, that if I checked my IP in my Shelter profile, it was still my wireless carriers IP. [link] [comments]

Android & Googles Anti-Trust Issues Posted: 15 Jul 2020 05:07 AM PDT So it looks like Google will be experiencing what Microsoft went through with antitrust case https://www.theverge.com/interface/2020/7/15/21324105/google-antitrust-california-search-youtube How will this affect Android ? If Google is asked to split out Maps, Android or even their Ad business it could lead to Microsoft, Alibaba or worse Apple buy some of the parts. If the US decides to split it apart could it be we end up with a defacto monopoly of Apple who has all the services while the competition is bought up or left to wither ? [link] [comments]
