Just a quick heads up. Make sure your app description doesn't contain duplicate words back to back Posted: 16 Jul 2020 04:13 AM PDT I just had an update rejected as it contained "much much more" which apparently triggered the reject. [link] [comments]

Free APP Analytics to help make development decisions Posted: 16 Jul 2020 08:52 AM PDT We got into App Development last winter with a friend. From the get go we wanted to set up some analytics tool to help guide APP development. We to use data to improve user experience and understand what makes users stick. We started out with the Amplitude free trial and it was great… Until they quoted us $40k usd /year once we reach 10 million events per month. With the ways things are going there is no way we can afford that. Since I have a background in data analytics, we then built our own dashboards using Firebase, BigQuery and Google Data Studio. We calculated that using the google tools, 10 million events per month would cost us less than 100$/year! We've replicated all the features we liked in amplitude and added some. Now we've turned it into a template with an instruction manual. This is what it looks like: https://datastudio.google.com/s/gSfsJgOq33o Now we use it daily. There are so many things we do with it. For example: We use the "Reviews" section in page 2 to find out about bugs when a new release is out. A buggy release will lead to a lot of people clicking on "Not happy" in the "Are you happy with our App" prompt. We then see a spike in "Review_Negative" events. We can then go to the "user analytics" page and filter for the users that have the event "Review_Negative". We then go one by one through all the users and find out what they were doing before they told us they were unhappy with the APP. We've also used it to test how long our free trial should be, find out about weird use cases for our app that we never thought of before... Overall to answer the questions that help us with development decisions. Let me know if you'd like to try it out and I'll hook you up! [link] [comments]

Maintained libraries for making recyclerviews with less code? Posted: 15 Jul 2020 05:36 PM PDT Title says it all tired of writing boilerplate code, but looking for an up to date library that won't break the app [link] [comments]
Suggest some good resources for Kotlin + Jetpack and Architecture Components Posted: 16 Jul 2020 06:28 AM PDT Please suggest some good courses or resources (Udemy or otherwise) for Kotlin + Jetpack and Architecture Component Libraries for modern Android app development techniques that are the best and use MVVM. Thanks. [link] [comments]
So do I use livedata in the repository or not?? Posted: 15 Jul 2020 11:29 AM PDT I see so many posts as to why I shouldn't be using Livedata in the repository and then I see the google arch samples like the github browser app which has Livedata in the repository layer itself. So what is the best practice here? [link] [comments]

Custom Play Store Listing For Alpha/Beta Release Posted: 15 Jul 2020 08:28 PM PDT I have an app that has been on the Play Store for quite some time now (around 2 years). It was a one-off joke kind of app, but people are still requesting updates and iOS compatibility , so I redesigned the entire app (using Flutter) I'm almost ready to release and I have an Alpha Release in the Play Store and will soon release to a public Beta. I see you can create custom store listings, but I don't see where you can run custom store listings for an alpha or beta release. The UI has changed and I don't want to update the current store listing because that version still exists and there are still people downloading it. Is it possible to at least have different screenshots for alpha/beta vs production releases on the Google Play Store? [link] [comments]

Android developers & social skills Posted: 15 Jul 2020 10:33 AM PDT Hi guys! I am currently doing some research about the personal traits of some professionals, especially when it comes to social interactions. That's why I ask you the following: How would you rate your social skills? And do you think this can be somehow associated to your profession? Thanks !! [link] [comments] |
