Posted: 24 Jul 2020 08:20 AM PDT Has anyone experienced either of these issues? I am hoping either they are connected or that there is a fix. It is annoying to come in and hit ON on a 1,000 dollar TV I bought a few weeks ago and it just not come on without holding power to hard reset. The other issue I will usually see because my file explorer is gone and there's a message/notification that I am low on HDD space that won't go away. In reality, it's just not at all seeing the USB internal storage I have set up. [link] [comments]

MiBox 3: Update to Oreo?? Best Video Player for portable hard drive?? Posted: 23 Jul 2020 02:04 PM PDT Hello everybody. I have a Xiaomi MiBox 3, it has the factory android version, I think it's 6. I have the option to update to Oreo but the point is: I don't use any streaming app or functionality, I only play videos from a portable hard drive and I have 2 only video players installed because some videos have errors in one player but look perfect in the other one. If you're wondering, the video playing feature of my TV is absolute garbage, that's why I use the MiBox. I haven't had any problems so far except for the fact that the portable hard drive is always on and i have to cover it so the light won't bother me when I sleep. Anyway, you think I should update Android?? Do you know other reliable video player for MiBox besides VLC and MX?? Thanks in advance for your time. [link] [comments]
The mystery of the surround sound Posted: 23 Jul 2020 12:53 PM PDT This has been driving me crazy for months now... Hopefully somebody can help me out. I have a Shield TV 2017 that is able to passthrough pretty much every surround format out there. It is connected to a Vizio E55-C2 via HDMI, and it is set to Bitstream, as I understand has to be for HDMI-ARC to work; that way it connects to a Vizio SB4051-C0 sound bar, and it is also hooked up with an optical cable. This sound bar understands DD and DTS. As far as I know, Netflix provides DD+ surround, but not basic DD; but for some reason, I get sound out of the rear speakers too, and without being an audiophile, I'm pretty sure it is not just the stereo being duplicated or anything like that. The stereo upmix to 5.1 option on Shield is disabled. How is this happening? [link] [comments]
