| Help with hacked phone, someone out of state is accessing it when I'm off Wifi Posted: 08 Jul 2020 09:31 PM PDT Please, I need some advice for a strange security issue with my Android phone that is following me across multiple devices and with multiple passwords. Someone with a Illinois IP address is popping up on my google account activity and I live about 700 miles away from there. I've changed my Google password multiple times and it is still happening. A unknown device is NOT coming up on my Google account info. It appears as though they can't do it while I'm on my home wifi but can when I'm on my mobile data. I was away from home for several hours on the 4th of July and a purchase was made on my eBay account using a card I recently stored on my account. That card has now been deactivated. Tonight I used my phone after having it in my pocket for a while and my bluetooth and GPS had been turned on, which it wasn't turned on when I stopped using it. I have their IP and they don't appear to be professionals (the item they bought on my ebay account is being shipped to my own address) but this is mildly frightening/disturbing and I need to figure out how to make it stop and or what I should do. However they are backed up on the "your phone" app. The app won't let me save anything as it is stuck trying to resync with my phone. If I let the app and my phone sync again, will it delete all those photos? I want to save them directly to my computer, but the app has all the save, copy, etc. options greyed out. | Posted: 09 Jul 2020 08:37 AM PDT This is my grandpa's phone. He doesn't remember what he was doing, but those volume controls showed up and it disabled the physical volume buttons as well. This virtual volume control is present everywhere, in apps and even at login screen. How can I disable it? Can't find anything on the internet and I tried looking into installed apps that would have 'volume' or 'sound' in them but I wasn't able to find any. Thanks a lot. [link] [comments] |

But I don't wanna have those on my phone since they are way too bloated. So whenever there's a poll... I have to wait until I get home so I can get on my computer and vote. Posted: 09 Jul 2020 11:44 AM PDT Whenever I walk outside I always turn on full brightness to see clearly, but this S9 always seems to make it super dark. There is no difference between 50% and 100% system brightness whenever this happens. Edit: it worked as I tended it to fucking work but only for like 30 seconds after I restarted the phone. For some reason, setting up hardware from scratch is exciting to me so I personally never do a transfer from existing phones, but I'll go through settings and apps one by one to setup. It asked if to move the content of the internal storage over to the new storage. After this was finished, all pictures, videos and other files like WhatsApp media were present on /storage/emulated/0, as I had hoped. However, it seems that the files were copied and not moved, since storage still shows all 17GB of pictures for internal storage. And also df shows, that the space is still occupied. Now I have not found any way to remove the files from internal storage, since it seems the directory is not mounted anywhere? Any idea or hints how I could clean up the leftover pictures on internal storage? My device is unrooted and rooting it is not an option. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |

| How Do I prevent my tablet from charging my keyboard? Posted: 09 Jul 2020 08:37 AM PDT I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 and an Anna Pro 2. This is not a great combination. The Bluetooth connection between the two is terrible, producing input lag in the seconds when it does manage to connect. The obvious solution is to use it plugged in, but then my tablet tries charging the keyboard. This is bad since it KEEPS trying to charge the keyboard even after it's full, needlessly (and rapidly) draining my tablet's battery. Is there a way for me to prevent my tablet from charging the keyboard. When plugged in there is a thing where I can select how to use the connection, but even if all the options weren't grey'ed out (they are), there isn't an option not to charge. My current work around is to use one of those things that you can plug into your tablet to make it more like a laptop. It has USB ports for peripherals, an HDMI port, as well as an power input port. So plugging that mess together, the keyboard is being powered by the do-hicky, but this isn't optimal either as it results in a mess of cables. This is okay-ish at home, but on the road (especially if there is no power outlet) this would not work. Another potential work around would be to remove the battery on the keyboard, though I'm not sure what unintended consequences this may have. Some devices can only operate from power from the battery, and the keyboard is programmable so it may require the battery to maintain stuff while on standby. [link] [comments] |

| Play store will not update apps Posted: 09 Jul 2020 08:24 AM PDT I have had an ongoing problem with my note 9 not updating apps in the google playstore. It will show updates pending with a list of apps to update that never move beyond "download pending". Occasionally the apps will update themselves out of the blue but only very occasionally, I usually have 20-40 updates sitting trying to download. I have tried every solution I can find:

I haven't even been using chrome, it had been closed from my background apps. The page that's loading in chrome looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/FqiImbp.jpg I've searched for the wording in the page, and as suspected, the phone model is being pulled from my handset and put into the message in the Web page. It's not a 0-day as there are a few other useless posts about it online. One person on reddit even posted it to /r/therewasanattempt, as if they had beaten the malware by not clicking it. I've downloaded and performed full scans with: * Malwarebytes * Kaspersky * Avg * Eset ... None have found anything. The site is yourphoneboost.com and the message is:
