My phone was burning this morning (: Posted: 22 Jul 2020 09:34 AM PDT This morning I had an update for my Galaxy S20 and after the update was done the phone temperature was extremely high, the cpu temperature was 45°C and the battery was 41°C. It also gets overheated from time to time for literally no reason. Does anyone know what is the problem and is it normal or what? (I use the Exynos version of the S20) [link] [comments] |
Few newbie questions about whatsapp. Posted: 22 Jul 2020 03:35 AM PDT So i am new to whatsapp and i never used any similar apps since i only used instagram and facebook for chatting with friends so i have a few questions: 1.Can whatsapp still record voice messages(or record anything in background in general) if i deny its microphone permission? 2.Can whatsapp continue recording voice messages once i close the app?(For example lets say i accidently click record voice message and it starts recording, will it stop recording once i close the app?) 3.What is the maxium file size i can send with whatsapp?(Some people say its 16mb and others say its aroind 64mb or even 100mb so i am not sure really.) 4.And lastly how can i stop people from seeing when was the last time i was active? Thanks for help and sorry if these questions seem stupid. And question unrelated to whatsapp: Android 8 had App Permission Monitor but i think it got removed in Android 10 since i cant find it anywhere so is there any safe alternative app that i could use instead? Can't acess images download from Google Images Posted: 22 Jul 2020 09:04 AM PDT When I download images from Google, they seem to go to a folder called ".aux", which I can't access. Does anyone know how to get to it? Thank you. [link] [comments] |
I can't disable the security on apps Posted: 22 Jul 2020 12:19 PM PDT I've been asked to help stop the phone asking for a password code every time they open an app. I was then handed a cheap Oukitel phone. I thought at least it would be simple but I can't find any app lock setting and I've tried tapping all options inside of Security & Location and Apps that might have any relevance. The person who owns the phone said when they first started it up, it asked them to put in a password but they didn't realise it meant any time they tap an app it'll ask for the code. They know the password, they just want the setting disabled. This is what the settings and password request look like https://imgur.com/a/0GglSja The phone is a Oukitel C18 Pro, Android 9 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Jul 2020 11:55 AM PDT Hi, I've been trying to uninstall/disable Youtube for a long time now. Everyday I do it, and after a few hours it installs itself again. Can anybody help me? I don't understand, I "force stop"ed it. Why does it keep coming back? Note that I've not rooted my phone, it's android 9 and had Youtube pre-installed. Thanks!! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Jul 2020 11:41 AM PDT So, I don't have any mobile data plan on my phone. When I occasionally do want to use the internet on it, I activate a no-limit 24 hour deal from my provider. This means that outside of the above deal, I DO NOT want my phone to use mobile data ever. Yet I've noticed that some apps insist on downloading small amounts (less than 1MB) even when my mobile data is turned off. This seems to immediately shave some money off my account, enough to be a problem. One of these is the Phone app - for example, it downloaded about 600kb in the background this month, even though it technically shouldn't be able to. My question is this: Is this background data usage in any way necessary for my ability to receive and making calls? I'd assume not, but I'm worried disabling all data usage for the app would cause me new problems. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Jul 2020 11:31 AM PDT Say you type the word "Hapy" and it auto corrects to "Happy" but you wanted to keep it as "Hapy", so you press backspace, it should change it back to what you actually typed, but now it just stays as the autocorrected word. Does anyone else have this issue on Google keyboard? I'm on Android 11 beta 2.5, latest version of Google keyboard non-beta. [link] [comments] |
What OS should I install on pc so it can run DRM videos of coaching? Posted: 22 Jul 2020 12:45 AM PDT I am doing online coaching. But neither I can cast their videos nor I can download. Their videos are only available in android app. Due to the small screen of the phone, I can't watch videos for a long time. I have an old pc, so I am thinking to use Android on it, as the only OS. Any suggestions. PC name:- HP Pavillion g4 Processor:- AMD Dual-Core A4-3305M RAM:- 4GB HDD:- 1TB [link] [comments] |
Giant system file on internal SD card Posted: 22 Jul 2020 05:18 AM PDT I'm guessing this has been covered before, but I can't track it down. I switched from portable to internal storage on my SD card, and now my 128GB card is using 65.52GB... and 65 of those are system files. Any idea what's going on here? [link] [comments] |
The new Apps button and how to make it go away... Posted: 22 Jul 2020 11:04 AM PDT I don't know how... Someone please help me in this matter. [link] [comments] |
Is there any way to have my Pixel 3 camera app default to Portrait mode? Posted: 22 Jul 2020 10:14 AM PDT I very rarely use the standard mode, and pretty much exclusively take photos in portrait mode. Considering how flexible stock Android can be in other areas, I'm honestly shocked there's not an easy setting that lets you set portrait mode as the default. The load time of the general camera app feels horribly slow as it is. I'm constantly rushing to catch a shot of my kids, and in the time it takes to open the app, let it load, switch to Portrait, and go to shoot, I almost never capture the moment. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 22 Jul 2020 09:36 AM PDT Hi guys, I have an A5 (laugh it up) and it has slowly become more difficult to hear people when on the phone. I usually resort to speaker phone which isnt an ideal fix in public locations. I could buy headphones with a mic, sure, and i could bring it in to potentially get it repaired, sure. However, with all of this time on my hands i thought I would see if there is any tips to improve it on my own.d Thanks in advance guys! [link] [comments] |
SAVING OLD AUDIO FILES? Please help :( Posted: 22 Jul 2020 09:33 AM PDT My friends son died this past year in an awful accident. She has audio messages from him on her android phone and obviously can't bear to part with those messages of his voice. However, she needs to switch from an android to an iPhone, and the AT&T store told her they could not transfer those messages over to an iPhone. Is there any platform she could upload them to, or any way at all to save those precious messages? Price is no concern here. Any ideas or helpful tips are appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Filter Provider system app keeps crashing on Galaxy S9+ Posted: 22 Jul 2020 09:28 AM PDT Hello everyone! My girlfriend has an S9 Plus and we did a factory reset on it. Everything is perfect except that when she opens up the camera sometimes a message pops up saying that Filter Provider has stopped working. I tried clearing the cache on that application, force stopped it... i tried everything i can think of. Is there someone who has any tips for me to what to do? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
How do I find news articles on the Google app? Posted: 22 Jul 2020 09:24 AM PDT I don't know if this should go here or on a Google related sub, but here goes. Every so often, I'll get a notification for a news article that's in the Google app thing. Sometimes I'll swipe it away and then right after decide that I wanted to read it. The only problem is, I have no idea how to find them again. Does anyone know how to find them? If it matters at all, I'm using Android 6.0.1 on a Galaxy S5. EDIT: To clarify, I get rid of the notification, then go into either the Google news app or the little search widget and can only find different, often unrelated articles. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Jul 2020 09:21 AM PDT I have an LG K30 that recently updated from Android 8 to 9, and ever since then I've noticed an issue with the GBoard keyboard. Whenever I use certain special characters that require me to hold down a letter key, such as * or #, there's about a 10% chance the keyboard will immediately collapse as if I had pressed the back button on the bottom bar. This seems to only happen with certain characters, as I have never noticed it being triggered by commas or periods. Obviously, it can be pretty annoying to have the keyboard unexpectedly vanish when I'm in the middle of typing something. I have looked into other reports of the keyboard collapsing or crashing, and none I've found have matched this particular issue. I followed some general advice about clearing the cache and data from the GBoard app, but this did not fix it. Does anyone know anything else about this issue, and if so, do you know any way to solve it? [link] [comments] |
Music playlists found in one app and not another -- Android 9 LG K61 Posted: 22 Jul 2020 07:54 AM PDT Hello, I recently upgraded to an LG K61 and migrated my data from my old phone. I use Pulsar as my main music player and in it, I see all the playlists that I created with it and other apps. If I open another music then suddenly only four playlists appear. I tried to search for those playlists but can't find them and I can't even find the Pulsar folder. What am I doing wrong here? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Jul 2020 03:07 PM PDT Alright, so i made the switch to Android, and I have loved it. Other than one thing.... My phone will get a notification, it doesn't matter what kind, and if I dont dismiss it then the phone will automatically switch to that app. In general this is a decent idea, but it keeps causing problems!! I have googled where this setting is and can't find it. Any help would be great! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Jul 2020 07:32 AM PDT imgur.com/Ze2aT4N since it's apparently not possible to use money from both accounts like on Steam, there got to be at least a way to put more money to the play account? [link] [comments] |
Optimizing android on my lg k4 2017 Posted: 22 Jul 2020 07:28 AM PDT Hello fellow redditors , after trying to force myself to buy a newer phone and realising I don´t need it (it was a nokia 6.1, very nice phone) in the last moment I would like to kindly ask for some tricks in order to enhance my android experience on this 1.1 ghz quad core 1gb ram phone. Sadly it´s unrootable but I somewhat have achieved to cover all root functionalities I needed. I´m using Icebox for freezing apps (including system ones) and adoptable storage for having more data. The performance while not doing almost anything is nice but the moment I open mobile legends ( a game) the phone starts to heat up and can´t charge while playing. I´m looking for some no root adb tricks or apps that can help me not leaving the game , as it´s mentally impossible to change my phone and my brother would be sad if I close myself more [link] [comments] |
