We are handing in our phones to our command and they will be off and held in an area that won't have service. (It's just a training exercise) I want to be able to set up an automatic message to my girlfriend telling her goodmorning and goodnight. I just thought it would be cute. There is a way to schedule a message, but I'm not sure it will send when my phone is off and doesn't have service. Any suggestions? I have a Samsung galaxy S10. [link] [comments] |

Whenever some of my friends see me using it though they tell me that it sucks, and suggest, Relay, Joey, Infinity, Now, and Sync. After looking up Reddit Clients in the app store I saw TONS of results. So I'm asking my fellow Android users, what's your favorite reddit client? And why? I don't mind modding, I mean ummm... buying premiums, and I use a custom DNS (with ad block), so don't worry about prices, or ads. Just looking for the best! :D [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 15 Jul 2020 11:52 AM PDT So I go a new S8 recently. I don't usually use reminders or anything like that on my phone. I set one today by accident somehow and ended up on the reminder page. Found a setting for creating groups, one of them was for "family" and I just so happened to be at my moms house. So I sent her an invite since I had already set up her samsung account. She accepted and I saw that it connected us. But now I don't know how to access that "group" or add stuff to it. When I was setting it up it showed we could have shared photo albums and stuff but I don't know what app to use to utilize it. [link] [comments] |
| Phone will only charge off outlet brick? Posted: 15 Jul 2020 11:37 AM PDT My phone starting about 2 or 3 weeks ago, absolutely will not charge off anything other than a power brick in a outlet. It wont charge off my power pack or my cig lighter in my car. When I attempt to do so, the charge icon will just flicker as if I'm constantly plugging and unplugging the device, but never stays constant. I know it's not any of the three (power pack, cig lighter/adapter, or the cord), because my other devices all behave properly, regardless of power source, with the same cable. It's only my phone doing this. Cant exactly afford to replace my phone at the moment, and having this BS issue is more than aggravating for my current situation. Phone is a Samsung Galaxy J7 Star. | How to Move Local Device Google Music Playlists to YouTube Music Posted: 15 Jul 2020 11:13 AM PDT Okay, I get it Google gets to do what they want... I have all my MP3s on my Android SD card and have playlists of said songs in Google Play Music, but the transfer to YouTube Music has the playlists empty and there's no way to rebuild them online. The songs are not showing up in the browser, there's no transfer or export method, so what am I missing here? Do I need to leave them entirely for another app? Am I alone on this and like to listen to my own ripped CDs in 320 kbps mp3? [link] [comments] |

| Problems opening PDF files in chrome Posted: 15 Jul 2020 10:35 AM PDT Hi all, for the past month+ whenever I try to open a PDF link in chrome, I am taken to the drive PDF viewer (not installed separately...just the drive app) and I am presented with a black screen. If I try to upload the PDF to drive or download it, I get an error message. Just now, I tried in Firefox to do the same thing and even selected the drive PDF app and the PDF opened without any issues. I'm at a loss really. I can't see why this is happening and can't figure out how to make chrome use a different PDF viewer as the first step to troubleshooting this. It would also be fine to download it and then run an app, but even when I made chrome prompt me for a download location, it ignores it and still opens the drive app but does not save the file. I have cleared the cache and defaults for both chrome and drive. I changed Drive to always ask me for alternatives but nothing pops up, even with other PDF viewers installed. I have a galaxy S10+ on Xfinity. All apps are up to date. Chrome v 83. Any help would be appreciated. Right now I'm ready to just dump chrome. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 15 Jul 2020 10:12 AM PDT You know the moment when you trip and ends up desperately fumbling to catch your phone just to watch your foot instinctively kicks in to try soften the fall and ended up shooting your phone to the wall instead ? So my xiaomi pocophone is slightly bent inwards diagonally now. Abit uneven on the surface. But after the impact nothing seems to be wrong aside from cracked screen protector. Yet when I shutdown my phone and turned it on again, i lost all sound functions. Not only that, i am unable to hear sounds in calls, my audio input doesnt seem to be working either. Weirdly even YouTube videos doesnt play for me anymore. I get error whenever i try to record audio as well. Now it seems like its not hardware issues since sound was working before the shutdown, and feels to me like somehow when i restart the phone, some system or drivers arent turned on or started. | My Asus Phone is In Red State, Help Posted: 15 Jul 2020 09:46 AM PDT As the title stated, its in red state, and sadly its not detected or cannot connect to any PC. It says that my phone is in Red State, its corrupted and it cannot be trusted. So what happened is, I got bootloop out of nowhere after updating the OS (I got bootloop just 1 week after i picked up the phone from service center, the audio jack was broken). No PC can connect to it, so I just use SD card to downgrade. At first it works, then it got bootlooped again, I tried the same method untill it says "Red State". The question is, Do I still have any chance getting this phone back, or is this the end? if I can restore it, how? :( I've been so frustrated, cause its been just ONE year since I bought it. I restarted the phone and the devices were all back, but my Smart Watch had been removed from the Smart Lock options. I scanned the phone with AVG and Malware-bytes, but neither found anything wrong. | Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 bricked by official software update? Posted: 15 Jul 2020 08:32 AM PDT Hey everyone. This morning I was using my Galaxy Tab S4 and was notified of an official software update from Samsung. I can't remember the exact software version it was trying to update to but it was around 1.5GB and made mention of a new OneUI version. I downloaded and started the update and went off to get some other things done, but checked in every now and then and saw it doing the usual rebooting and the blue android updating screen i'd seen on the tablet and my phone multiple times. Everything looked normal. I came back to what seemed to be the completed update, but when I tried to wake the screen nothing happened, I tried to plug it into the power adapter and no charge indicator. I've tried every combo of power button and volume keys for every amount of time and the thing is completely dead. I've also tried connecting it via USB to my laptop with no sign of life. Did this seemingly routine Software update just brick my tablet? There was plenty battery power prior to the update, and even if there wasn't, Android wouldn't even let you begin the update without at least 50%. I'm hoping i'm missing something and someone can help me out before reaching out to local repair shops. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Recently however, when I go to open a TikTok link sent to me, when it opens in Chrome it will go to tiktok.com/notfound which shows a message about TikTok being banned in India. Does my phone or Chrome think I live in India or something and blocking the links? As an experiment I clicked on the same link in Messages for Web and it opened correctly, so the problem appears to be with the phone. I live in the US and have never been within several thousand miles of the subcontinent, so I'm a little puzzled. [link] [comments] |
| Project Mainline / Google Play Security Update question Posted: 15 Jul 2020 08:00 AM PDT I've got a Huawei Mate 10 Pro, recently updated to Android 10. In Settings | About Phone, I see the typical "Android Security Patch Level", which is currently April 1, 2020. However, just below, I have a new item, "Mainline software update", which is currently 292500200. Google searching the version number leads me to believe this is the May 2020 Mainline update. I'm not certain whether this mainline update is what was packaged with my recent OS update, or if it was delivered via the Play Store at a subsequent date. Does anyone know if I should expect future Mainline updates on my phone? I won't be receiving future Android OS updates from Huawei, but my phone is still working great, so I'd like to avoid replacing an otherwise perfectly functional device if I will be receiving critical updates from Google. I do not have an option is Settings for "Google Play System Updates" that would allow me to manually search for new Mainline updates. When the mobile is locked she can receive calls from ANY number and dial ANY number with the Emergency button. I want her to just receive calls from specific Numbers and make calls to specific Numbers while the Phone is locked. Is there an Option or App that will restrict that? I can copy loose files on my storage but not a single app will be able to transfer it's data. Google backup doesn't seem to work either. Is this basically a lost cause without rooting my new phone? | Posted: 15 Jul 2020 05:00 AM PDT One of the games I had on my phone started acting like malware after a recent update. Every time I turn on the Wi-Fi on my phone the game starts running for about a second and then shuts itself off until I start another app. When I do it also runs for about a second and then stops running. The reason I know that this is happening is because I get a notification every time the app is running in the background. Sometimes when I'm just sitting on the home screen the notification icon starts rapidly flickering. I don't really know what the game could be doing but after watching videos about what apps like tik tok are supposedly doing to their users, I'm trying to be extra cautious about this kind of stuff. The only things I'm concerned with are things that I don't really know what they mean but if they mean what I think they mean, then I don't see why the game would require them. Stuff like "draw over other apps", "create accounts and set passwords" and "allow Wi-Fi multicast reception". I don't want to treat this game like tik tok but I don't see why the game requires those especially when I have similar games that don't require any of these. [link] [comments] |
