What's next for my path as a self-taught freelance Android developer? Posted: 30 Jun 2020 01:22 AM PDT I have already completed a few demo apps made in Android, but what is next for me? I browsed job posts online as well as freelance projects and a lot of them feature requirements like needing apps developed for both Android and IOS. So do I need to start learning Flutter or Kotlin Multiplatform in order to tackle these jobs? I still would like to specialize in native Android development, so I fear that I might end up shooting myself in the foot by not being able to find any freelance work to do - or even full-time work at a company for that matter. Also on a somewhat related note - what are employers' actual perception towards developers without a CS background, who learnt Android development through self-study? Am I going to be at a serious disadvantage simply because I didn't choose CS as my undergrad major a decade ago? [link] [comments]

How to get back after Google Play Account Terminated Posted: 30 Jun 2020 08:04 AM PDT I had my account terminated few times, and this got me some learning of how to get back. The best way to think is that you have to get a new computer (vps/virtual machine), new card number, new sim card number and new app (Yes you will have to remake the app from scratch on the new computer and in the completly clean installed android studio, without the cache, temp files that still there even if you uninstall it). Well, there is many other steps you have to take to get back and I would like to share with you guys this knowledge if you think it's important. Unfortunetlly I think Google is too harsh with developers since it could just use human support for appeal and avoid account terminations. Let developers get back like Apple does. For example I had an app suspended for deceptive behavior, which consists in consulting a public api that the governement allow us to use freely but they claimed I was using it without permission. I sended them the decree from the Governement allowing the use of the api, but they argue that was no enough proof... That sucks... Would be nice if you guys want to shared how you guys did it if you think it's ok. I don't want to endorse developers who make apps that constantly means to violate google's policies, but allow the ones who want to get another opportunity to make nice apps. Lifetime suspension is too harsh I think. [link] [comments]

Is there such a thing as the best day to launch an app? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 05:07 PM PDT I've seen most articles online say it's Sunday, but they're all pretty old. Is there still actual evidence one day can perform better than others, or is it pretty much all the same? Do you have any personal experience on this? [link] [comments]
