| Why does this sub love to hate on the mi box (and mi box s) Posted: 19 Apr 2020 01:33 AM PDT Really. I have a mi box s and it's been one of the best purchases I've ever made. Perfect budget device. Almost a third of the price to the next good alternative (shield tv). Full HD streaming works great. Interface is clean and snappy. Hardly face any hiccups. Yes there are a few bugs here and there, and updates take their time. Storage and RAM may not be the best but what else does one want for streaming on a TV. In the end, it's a budget device. And for me this has been the perfect successor to my first gen chromecast. [link] [comments] | ||
| Looking for h.264 hi10 compatibility, what android tv box should I consider? Posted: 19 Apr 2020 05:24 AM PDT What I need is h.264 and h.265 codecs mainly for anime series, and one or two 3.0 usb ports for HDs, planning to get a 10 Tb to put all my video files in one place, I was going to get the mi box 4k on amazon us. but saw mixed reviews so decided to come here for suggestions, I will use it mainly for playing files from the hard drive and occasionally stream 4k content. So should I get the mi box or what other android box should I consider buying? Thanks for reading. [link] [comments] | ||
| 3rd party remotes with Andorid TV Posted: 19 Apr 2020 02:28 AM PDT Hi, I hope post isn't against group rules... It is referring to Philips TV run on Android TV. So... I've ordered Philips PUS7304 (they don't sell the option - 7334- with qwerty remote in our country) and what bothers me is remote. Basically all remotes with exception of LG's magic remote are not really 2020... I think all TV manufacturers should step up and offer some better solutions for this. I have question regarding 3rd party remotes (for Example Weechip's 3in1). All comments and reviews are referring to the use of it with Android TV box. So maybe it is dumb question and is somehow granted... But I still prefer to ask. :) So will the remote work solely with TV running on Android without box? Thank you and kind regards [link] [comments] | ||
| NVidia Shield TV (Not Pro) or Mi Box S Posted: 18 Apr 2020 02:54 PM PDT Okay, so it's 2020. The Nvidia Shield Pro is nowhere to be found, forums are exploding with complaints about the Nvidia Shield TV (Tube) and I want to Upgrade my Roku Stick (3600x 2016 model) and Steam Link into one Android TV Product. Is it worth spending $150 on the Shield or should I just get a Mi Box S and save the money? Right now, my only requirements are streaming Netflix, Hulu, Prime, Plex, VRV, CrunchyRoll, Disney+ and YouTube (Not TV) and the Steam Link app. I don't do LiveTV and other than steaming via Steam Link don't really plan on gaming directly. I already have a dedicated Plex Server so there is no reason to wait on the Shield Pro to come back although if I could find one, I'd buy that instead. I just don't want to spend $150 on something I'd regret. Oh and one last thing, I don't currently have a 4K TV. I don't plan on buying one either, unless my 1080 craps out on me. So that is not really a concern. [link] [comments] | ||
| What do you use to cast videos via DLNA? Posted: 18 Apr 2020 01:00 PM PDT I don't have miracast in my android tv, so I cast videos from the Web via DLNA, I use QuickCast on my android and I haven't found any problem, however I am currently missing a desktop alternative for it, I have tried vGet for chrome, but is not always working, suggest me something better please [link] [comments] | ||
| Win10 Laptop -> HDMI -> TV. Where the audio come from? Posted: 19 Apr 2020 12:20 AM PDT Hi! Sorry for the fool question. I'm waiting for a HDMI cable and I would like to know, when it will be here and functioning, where will I have to connect my bluetooth headphones to hear the audio, laptop or TV? Thank you!
