- I rooted my phone but I did not flash any roms. I just got Magisk and Xposed. Each time i start my phone it says the bootloader is unlocked. Can i lock the bootloader again or will there be a soft brick?

This morning it says 'file type is not supported' when I click on each of the downloads (there were 4 of them). I'm laid off and broke, I really want to have wasted $8. | Posted: 13 Apr 2020 03:02 AM PDT So , i own a lenovo k6 power.(k33a42 ;codename:karate). So , i initially rooted my phone and flashed lineageOS 15.1(with treble). Due to stability issues , i decided to Switch to ressurection remix 6.1 Oreo (non-treble). Idk what the hell happened , but i somehow destroyed my vendor partition and this line always shows up in red when i do anything.. 'failed to mount /vendor(invalid argument)' And somehow i think this is playing a big role in preventing me from flashing other ROMs. Always ends up in error 7 when i do it , and it has nothing to do with the asserts line in the ROM package and there is no solution to this(have been scouting the internet for months now).any idea on how to fix this mess??? i require your help and for the record i did everything according to procedure and followed all precautions. Thanks for your time TL;DR:NOT ABLE TO FLASH CUSTOM ROMS AND ALWAYS ENDS WITH ERROR 7 AND REMOVING ASSERTS AIN'T WORKING PLEASE HELP. [link] [comments] |
| Please help me recover sounds from a Samsung S4 phone Posted: 13 Apr 2020 07:53 AM PDT I'm constantly running out of space (was in the middle of researching before all of this) and I went to delete "sounds" off my phone, assuming they were some music downloads, etc. However, I found out that they are also voice recordings I had on my phone. I've been researching how to recover and see many different software recovery tools. Can someone help me recover the deleted sound files? My phone is hooked up to my laptop now. Do I need a software recovery tool or is there some kind of recovery step I can access via my laptop? Please help, these voice recordings are very special to me. Thank you! [link] [comments] |

| Best function heavy Android dialer? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 08:47 AM PDT Which is the best function heavy Android dialer? By functionality I mean, for example, that I want to see lots of data in my call log (not just who called, but when, the duration of the call etc). The Play Store is flooded with dialers that offer simplicity, caller ID, blocking etc. like Drupe etc but those don't provide any rich functionality. I have been using DW Contacts and for the most part it's been great, but the support is lax and send like it has some security/ privacy issues. Now it also requires to be designated as the default SMS program, which is a deal breaker. But in terms of being function heavy, it best describes what I mean. Thanks for your help! | Galaxy Note 3 subjectively taking better close up photos than my Galaxy s20 Ultra? Posted: 13 Apr 2020 10:54 AM PDT I'm not sure if I've not got the best optimised settings for the s20 Ultra or if the angles I took the photos at are extremely poor but my Galaxy Note 3 seems to have no issue in competing against this phone with close up photos. Of course if there is a distance the s20 Ultra wins hands down but I can't help but feel the Note 3 is actually capturing more detail than the s20 Ultra does up close? I do feel like it's hard to decide between the two but when you factor in the quality, size and more then how is the outcome so little in difference? Anyways, I uploaded the photos to my Google Drive for you to check out for yourself and give your own opinion. If anyone knows any features I may not have turned on that improves photos let me know. Just to clarify the phones are as follows: Samsung Galaxy s20 Ultra - G9880 (snapdragon 865) - Stock rom (April firmware update) Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE - N9005 (Snapdragon 800 (ancient processor it isn't a newer one)). - HavocOS 3.3 rom on android 10. I use a lot of networking tools and without going into much details, I need to understand automation tasks. I'd like for FolderSync app to automatically lunch in background and start syncing with WebDav when I fire up OpenVPN app and connect to my VPN server (hone network only accessible via VPN). | Google notification that won't go away Posted: 13 Apr 2020 05:56 AM PDT I apologise if this isn't the right sub to post this, but I have no idea where else to put this. Recently I have been trying to delete my Google accounts (I have 4 of them), I am getting rid of them because I have just gained a privacy addiction. So I have deleted my first account, now there is a notification on my android phone, link, this account I just deleted has nothing to do with this phone. The only place this account was (on my phone), was on gmail, I need to know how to get rid of it, if I click it it will recover the account, I have been told that your account can be recovered from up to 30 days, so any ideas on how to get rid of it, instead of waiting for a month with a very annoying notification. I've been trying to learn how to do this as I have a number of older Samsung devices with which I can experiment. I would like to expand upon their usefulness but I simply cannot find any useful, informative how-tos that don't use extensive jargon, slang, short-forms, and the like throughout the tutorial, and assume the user has moderate to advanced experience. I'm an experienced Windows user/admin, but have 0 experience with Linux/Android, mobile device architecture, and protocols. As I said, every tutorial (even the so-called "Introductory tutorials") I've come across assumes some level of knowledge, and despite countless hours of searching, reading, and more searching, the information I need is scattered across hundreds of different sites, worded differently by each of the contributors, with zero consistency between them (and why would there be?). What I need are ELI5s of (and I mean actual Explain Like I'm 5):

Email says they are not available. So I'll post here. Basically it crashes everytime I open a message or a group chat. Tried to update, uninstall and use a modded kik. Nothing seems to be working. I only see notifications for acknowledge events when they're upcoming, and only see the invitations in GMail. Thought of filtering for invites in GMail but that doesn't seem possible. | Posted: 13 Apr 2020 09:06 AM PDT I woke up this morning and discovered that the bottom sliver of my screen (first row of commands on Gboard) isn't responding to my touch. I thought it may have been my tempered glass that I cracked yesterday, but I removed it and it's still not responding. This is especially annoying when trying to enter texts because I am unable to consistently hit the space bar, comma, and period buttons. Any suggestions? Tried restarting it but that didn't help. Is there a known way to disable these short of using a different search engine? I like the way Google displays results like sports scores and other things, so I'd rather not change search engines, but I can't stand AMP. I have Adguard and am also willing to root my phone to achieve this. I've tried changing my useragent in Adguard but I haven't found one that works yet. Anyone know how to do this? It usually happens around 5 AM. No alarms set, device is in airplane mode, WiFi and Location is turned off. I never keep home WiFi on when I sleep, I just unplug it from the wall. Using a custom oneui rom and a custom kernel, rooted with magisk and I really feel like this ROM is doing shady stuff. For a few days i got 100% cpu usage on CPU0 and CPU1 and now this. Can custom ROMs have malware in them, or is it just a false alarm that i made up on my head? Thanks. [link] [comments] |
