Back to back updates normal? Happen weekly?

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 08:17 AM PDT

I recently switched to the note 10 plus after being on iPhone for 10 years and this phone is amazing after a day with it. But this morning I woke up and had an update so I did the update and took about 5-10 minutes. Right after that was done I got another notification saying to update the phone like 2 minutes after the other update finished and it took about the same time if not longer. I like my phone in the mornings is this a weekly thing for android?

Op7t green tint issues -return it and get a 7Tpro ?

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 06:06 AM PDT

Opinions in my 7t green issue I mention that these are without DC dimming, when i use DC dimming on the same photo, same brightness it's pitch Black. That apply only for that photo ,If i go for exemple in incognito mode at different brightness i can notice it sometimes.

Without DC dimming( around 30-40% brightness) :

    With DC dimming:(around 55 60%brightness)

https://imgur.com/a/g05Gd4N At 30-40% brightness with DC dimming it's pitch black

    An idiot needs help

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 08:05 AM PDT

Ok so my family got a Samsung tab 4 years ago. After some years of misuse by my younger sisters, the screen began displaying colors incorrectly (i.e. there was a bunch of white in place of certain colors). A few months ago, I was given it to try to fix it. I put off the project and it spent some time between my mattress and bed frame. Now a month or so later, it works fine. I need an explanation please. I also apoligize for the overly long question.

    Max exposure time

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 01:54 PM PDT

Is there any way to tweak the max exposure time in the camera app while using manual mode? It used to be 32 seconds but after updating recently it was lowered to 1/4th of a second. (The device is Mi-A3 and the camera sensor is a Sony IMX-586 48MP)

Im running LOS 17.1 + MicroG, Magisk & Xposed framework.

I am trying to prevent the Google Translate app from accessing the Google account saved on my device.

I wiped storage and cache in the settings for the mentioned app and restricted it with XprivacyLua and AppOpsX.

Google Translate is somehow still able to access my Google account.

Pixel 3XL power on delay after latest update

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 01:22 PM PDT

Ever since the latest update my device is experiencing turning on issues. NOT booting issues, it loads and boots just fine.

The issue happens simply when clicking the power button to unlock the phone. Clicking the button does nothing for 3-5 seconds, and only then the screen turns on. Everything else works perfectly, no slowdown, no glitches nothing. It's as if the phone goes into a deep hibernation that takes a few seconds to wake up from it. No issues before the update.

Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone know a solution?

Recovery of pics from Android phone

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 09:24 AM PDT

—-edit—- UPDATE: I turned it off and back on again...

I updated Photos from the Play store, but no change. I was afraid to turn it off in case it never rebooted again lol however, I bit the bullet and rebooted.

    Seems to be uploading now.

    Thanks for the helpful comments.

    Cheers

    —- end edit —

Hello! Long time lurker, first time poster...

I had a Blackberry DTEK50 that took a short swim a year ago. Got stuck in an endless power on/off loop after that, so I just left it on my desk.

Yesterday I unearthed it and decided to give it a charge. Lo and behold, it charged and booted flawlessly.

Connected to wifi, but no SIM card.

In an attempt to save the 300 pictures I had taken but was unable to sync (was on vacation when the swim occurred) I have Google Photos running. Photos says it's updating the 293 pictures, but no movement of the files and no countdown... it looks like it's uploading but it's not doing anything.

The wifi is working and I'm able to check my gmail, but the pics aren't syncing.

I have Total Commander installed, but can't find the folder with my pictures in it. Can't share via Create Link, and can't upload to Drive.

    Suggestions, please?

    Thank you.

    Strange issue on Android Firefox

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 06:52 AM PDT

    Hi there,

So I am using firefox on my Android phone for sometime, never an issue with the browser.

Then suddenly the browser has this issue:

    1) Normal state - tab button (to right of address bar).

    1) Problem state - altered microphone looking symbol. Clicking on it brought out the google microphone.

    2) Normal state - The "three dots" button (at the right of address bar), which drops down all the tools, settings, etc.

    2) Problem state. - An "X" with one dot in the upper "nook" of the X and another dot in the lower nook of the X. Clicking on it produced no effect.

Then I close out firefox and restart, and the buttons return to what they should be.

I scanned with MBAM and didn't get any hits.

My guess is a glitch where the search screen and the reading screen got merged, and the resulting graphics ended up on one screen.

I didn't take a screenshot of the actual situation.

Has anyone else had this issue and/or know what it is?

    Thanks.

Homescreen button to toggle call forwarding

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 12:16 PM PDT

    Hello.

This is my first post in this community, and I'm not a pro to Android, so please help me if there is a faster/better way to do this. I can handle it, if the solution gets a little advanced.

I need to have a quick shortcut button on the homescreen, that when clicked, toggles between activating call forwarding to a number when deactivated, and deactivate call forwarding if already activated.

As mentioned before, I can handle advanced stuff, if needed. I hope someone will help me with a solution!

Will this P30 screen crack spread to the whole screen?

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 12:00 PM PDT

    Hi there beautiful people!

I am planning on buying a used Huawei P30 pro and I came across this listing of a P30 pro with a cracked screen (as shown in the link below)

    https://imgur.com/k09w5eU

The price for it is extremely good, I don't mind having a cracked screen, I am mainly going to use the phone for its camera, but I don't want the cracks to spread to the whole screen. I just want to ask if it's most likely to spread or not.

What's creating these 0B files? Pixel 4 XL running stock Android. Shows up in Files-Clean. Thanks.

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 08:07 AM PDT

Go into the Android Files app. Choose the Clean tab. These show up as "duplicate files." They are attributed to the PhotosEditor. Is this a Google Photos bug?

How do I know if my phone has damaged firmware/damaged internal memory/hardware defect? Please help me

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 11:47 AM PDT

My phone (Samsung A30) started to restart randomly ever since a minor update from android 9 (currently android 10). It restarts in any app, even when it is locked. Also, sometimes when it restarts, after it booted, some apps are continuously crashing to the point i have to restart my phone. A few days ago, it restarted and got stuck on the logo. After a half an hour, a text saying something is preventing the device from booting up normally so a factory data reset is needed and I did. During the reset, it shut down and boot up in safe mode but it was already RESET but it still asks me to do another reset after i finish the setup. I did reset again and it still restart randomly. I try doing troubleshoot. Went into safe mode hoping it is caused by a bad app but turns out its not since it still restarted in safe mode. Tried factory data reset. Tried clearing the cache partition. All of these did not work and still facing the problem up until today. Could this be a damaged internal memory? Corrupted/damaged firmware? Or a hardware defect? There is no physical damage to the device as I am very careful on it nor it was submerged in water. Please help me since this was the very first phone i bought myself. Thank you.

Problem between Sky broadband and Android/Google?

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 07:43 AM PDT

So we had Sky installed on 14/2/20. Everything was fine, but the WiFi was a bit all over the place, as it sometimes is when you get a new provider.

We noticed on our phones (regardless of where we were in the house or what we were doing on our phones) that for 10-15 seconds (once for 2 mins) the WiFi connection just drops. It happens on the Nest Mini too, which is annoying when listening to Spotify.

A few weeks later, we had scaffolding put up so we could have work done on the roof, and the WiFi kept dropping, so called Sky. They sent someone out, did the usual checks, put a new macro filter in and suggested maybe it was the scaffolding that was interfering.

Scaffolding comes down a few weeks later, and the same is still happening. Been on Sky community and asked them, and they said to call sky.

Was on the phone to them. WiFi speed is ok, router seems ok. Signal doesn't drop on the Q box, smart TV, laptops or tablets we have, just the two phones (3XL and P30) and the Nest. Is there some sort of issue between Sky and Google? We previously had Now TV and their broadband, so basically Sky, and had no issues, so why now??

Has anyone else experienced this? How did you solve it?

Why Android doesn't have control center with sound bar to control?

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 11:21 AM PDT

I'm wondering why Android doesn't have a sound bar to adjust sound without the need to press volume button , I don't know if they've added this feature yet because I'm using Android Pie 9.

It's a really good idea and it's very useful ,I wanted to share thoughts .THX

Any way to get notifications from reminders I add to Google Calendar with the Reminders "calendar" unchecked?

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 07:28 AM PDT

I have some recurring reminders on my Google Calendar, but I don't want to see them on the calendar itself otherwise it gets really cluttered... so I uncheck the Reminders "calendar", but that way I don't receive the notification either... there's a way around this?

The attempt to get the list of available wifi APs

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 07:26 AM PDT

Hi everyone!I suppose that this question was asked before many times, but I want to understand what I'm doing wrong.I'm continuing learn the Android OS and this time I'm facing the problem that I can't get the list of wifi APs (WifiManager.getScanResults() should return me the List<ScanResult>) and WifiManager.startScan() is always false (*UPD* I don't know what's the magic, but few times I've tried to reach my goal it's become true)

I will pin the piece of code

    public class FirstMenu extends AppCompatActivity { List<ScanResult> wifiScanResultList_local = new ArrayList<>(); RecyclerView firstMenu_availableWiFiNetworks_RV; View v; Button rescanRequest_Button; WifiManager wifiManager_local; WiFiNetworkAdapter wiFiNetworkAdapter_local; BroadcastReceiver wifiScanReceiver; @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_first_menu); firstMenu_availableWiFiNetworks_RV = findViewById(R.id.availableWiFiNetworks_RV); rescanRequest_Button = findViewById(R.id.rescanRequestButton); v = findViewById(R.id.firstMenuRootLayout); this.wifiManager_local=(WifiManager)getApplicationContext().getSystemService(Context.WIFI_SERVICE); this.wiFiNetworkAdapter_local = new WiFiNetworkAdapter(); firstMenu_availableWiFiNetworks_RV.setAdapter(wiFiNetworkAdapter_local); firstMenu_availableWiFiNetworks_RV.setLayoutManager (new LinearLayoutManager(getApplicationContext())); wifiScanReceiver = new BroadcastReceiver() { @Override public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) { if (intent.getBooleanExtra(WifiManager.EXTRA_RESULTS_UPDATED,false)) { wifiScanResultList_local = wifiManager_local.getScanResults(); } else { Snackbar.make(v,"Scan failed", BaseTransientBottomBar.LENGTH_LONG).show(); } } }; if (wifiManager_local != null) { if (!wifiManager_local.isWifiEnabled()) { startActivityForResult(new Intent(Settings.ACTION_WIRELESS_SETTINGS), 0); } } Snackbar.make(this.v,"Click Rescan button to get the list", BaseTransientBottomBar.LENGTH_LONG).show(); boolean scanRuns = wifiManager_local.startScan(); rescanRequest_Button.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View v) { //Snackbar.make(v,"Rescanning done",BaseTransientBottomBar.LENGTH_LONG).show(); wiFiNetworkAdapter_local.setItems(wifiScanResultList_local); } }); } @Override protected void onPostResume() { super.onPostResume(); IntentFilter scanResultsFilter = new IntentFilter(); scanResultsFilter.addAction(/"android.net.wifi.SCAN_RESULTS"/WifiManager.SCAN_RESULTS_AVAILABLE_ACTION); registerReceiver(wifiScanReceiver, scanResultsFilter); //wifiManager_local.startScan(); } @Override protected void onDestroy() { super.onDestroy(); unregisterReceiver(wifiScanReceiver); } }

So as you can see I am trying to use system intents and catch them into my activity (but i don't know is this approach good enough for this purpose). But all the time my List<ScanResult> wifiScanResultList_local is remaining empty, not null, cause size is 0

So there you can see my Manifest file content. But there is no receivers declared in file (please tell me if I have to do this step)

    <uses-feature android:name="android.hardware.wifi" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_WIFI_STATE" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION"/> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION"/> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.CHANGE_WIFI_STATE" /> <application android:allowBackup="false" android:icon="@mipmap/ic_launcher" android:label="@string/app_name" android:roundIcon="@mipmap/ic_launcher_round" android:supportsRtl="true" android:theme="@style/AppTheme"> <activity android:name=".MainActivity"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> <activity android:name=".FirstMenu"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN"/> <category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT" /> </intent-filter> </activity> </application>

So I am trying this work about 2 days and can't find out the way to solve this puzzle. Help me please!
