| Play Protect just propted me to uninstall an app I've been using for almost a year Posted: 07 Mar 2020 01:28 AM PST I have a Moto Z Play...the old one. Android 8.0.0, on TMobile. Not sure if that's important info, but just trying to keep within the post guidelines. I had an app called "Private Browser" that I used occasionally. Never noticed anything suspicious with it, but today my phone warned me that the app was malicious an that I should uninstall it. It's now gone from the store and obviously uninstalled from my phone. I had used it for close to a year, if not longer, for PiP streams while browsing on another app and for some searches not influenced by my history. I'm guessing something about it must have been problematic from a recent update since the play store didn't notice anything and warn me before now. Is this common? I don't know what, if any, harm it could have caused. I haven't ever received warnings from my bank or cards about suspicious activity, thankfully. I'm not exactly worried at this point since I never used the browser for super personal info. Just curious if anyone else has encountered something similar. Thanks. I have found this app called VMos and tried to use it, but my main phone is rooted and apps inside VMos can see the root and won't allow me to run the app because of it. | Pixel 3a XL hasn't received oTA updates in two months Posted: 07 Mar 2020 08:48 AM PST I have a Pixel 3a XL which hasn't received OTA update prompts in two months. As the March update has begun rolling out for some phones, I noticed I never received February. I am on Verizon. My bootloader is unlocked (Magisk) however I always received a prompt for the OTA update and have been able to update. I am on Android 10 (QQ1A.200105.002), and I am on the January security patch. I have gone into settings and tried to check for update. I have rebooted and tried the check for update. I have disabled AdAway, rebooted, and tried check for update. | Notification Badges Dissapearing Posted: 07 Mar 2020 12:14 PM PST I'm new to Android and was wondering if I'm missing a setting somewhere. When I swipe my notification away at the top of my screen (so it doesn't get cluttered), the badges disappear from the icon on my homescreen. I searched and saw plenty of answered associated with Oreo but nothing for Android 10. Is this still the norm? I'm using Nova Launcher but they dont support Tesla Unread anymore. | How do I sideload updates? (Pixel 3a XL) Posted: 07 Mar 2020 11:56 AM PST After realizing that I haven't received an OTA update for my (rooted) Pixel 3a XL since January, it was suggested that I try to sideload the update instead of waiting.I found that another user was having the same issue, and they received a response that instructed them on how to go about updating manually. I followed those instructions, downloading the February 2020 zip for my bonito device. I extracted the boot.img file from inside the zip and brought it over to my device and patched it in Magisk. I brought the patched boot.img back to my PC where I deleted the stock boot.img and place the patched one in the zip. I modified the flash-all.bat and removed the -w command so that I would not wipe my device in this process. Now what? How do I go about sending the update to my phone? I do not have TWRP flashed on my device, although I know how to boot to it in fastboot. Do I need to do anything in the interest of A/B partitioning? I appreciate the hand-holding through the last few steps here as I want to ensure that I don't do any damage and ruin the rest of my weekend by having to put my phone back together. | My ps4 controller keeps disconnecting Posted: 07 Mar 2020 11:23 AM PST Yesterday I connected a ps4 dualshock to my phone via bluetooth (android 10 note10+) and it worked perfectly. The connection was stable and I had zero problems. However, the next day I wasn't able to connect it properly. It would connect for seconds at a time and then disconnect. It was fully charged, I tried unpairing it and connecting again but nothing worked. I gave up on that controller and then tried connecting my second one and it magically worked fine. It didn't stay that way though because the same issue repeated itself when I tried reconnecting the second controller the next day. Now both don't connect for longer than a second or two. Don't worry, it's not a PUBG Mobile or something like this. I have two devices: Nokia 3.1 Plus | microUSB & Honor 8 (FRD-L09) | Type-C). From Honor 8 i'm also using getting ethernet for PC (USB). Couldn't connect multiple devices with scrcpy. How i'm trying to do it: Command prompt (not the ones that is from scrcpy folder) -> cd C:\Users\USERNAME\Desktop\New folder -> adb devices > scrcpy -s [device ID] -b2M -m800. It's running only one broadcast. After it i really couldn't run another cuz command prompt like ignoring me. Help :( [link] [comments] |

| Fake GPS Location Messing with Real Location Posted: 07 Mar 2020 05:12 AM PST So in short I installed a fake gps location app so I could watch some stuff on Xfinity that wasn't available in my area, and now my location won't update in real time. At first it wouldn't give me my real location at all, but now it does. The only issue is that it won't update (idk if that is the correct term). Maps is essentially useless because my location never moves even if I move. I've also tried downloading other apps like Waze and it just keeps saying that it can't get my location or no gos signal. I've tried downloading an app to clear my gps cache and that did nothing. I have tried looking up what to do, but the only thing I could find was for an older version of android that is not available on my Pixel 4XL. Idk how to fix this so if anyone could help that would be great. I should also mention that the first thing that made me notice that something was wrong was that when using maps my location was shown as a circle instead of an arrow, and every time it shows that my location never updates or shows where I am moving in real time. | Posted: 07 Mar 2020 08:33 AM PST No other issues with the device. I just turned it off and on and it factory reset itself. I did nothing to initiate this. My Google account was not accessed by anyone other than me so it could not have been a remote reset through Find My Phone. It's such a strange problem I can't find almost anything about it on the internet. Any ideas what went wrong? Ever heard of something like that happening? Should I be worried? A USB drive that the system file reader can detect is plugged in, it is capable of copying files. Two emulators, dolphin and drastic, are installed with storage permission granted. However, neither emulator can access the drive by navigating to /storage. Only the folders called emulated and self are visible in the /storage directory. I post this question because it seems like r/Snapchat is not a place to ask technical question. I have a really long conversation and if I try to scroll up my phone just can't handle it and Snapchat crash.
