| Gmail crashes when clicking links Posted: 25 Mar 2020 08:05 AM PDT OnePlus 5T. Android 9. AT&T. The Gmail app (latest version) crashes any time I click a link. I've tried disabling Chrome and updating Webview to no avail. Cleared system cache. Restarted. Disabled (and tested, and reenabled) the Gmail app setting "open web links in Gmail"). Etc. Nothing works. Interestingly, I uninstalled all updates to the app and rolled back to the factory version...and it STILL crashes on clicking links. Any help? | Bluetooth draining battery like there is no tomorrow. Posted: 25 Mar 2020 07:49 AM PDT And I really mean it. Android 8.1, no root or questionable apps installed. Sometimes, maybe a couple times per month, battery is going down to zero from, for instance, fifty percent in less than a half an hour. When I managed to charge it in the middle of the process it was charging really slow, then for no apparent reason picked up some pace and from fifty percent to the top it was ok, but then in battery statistics was shown more than 100% (about 110 if it makes any difference) used by Bluetooth. I use Bluetooth headphones and smart watch every day, routine is more or less the same, but it happens only sometimes. Rebooting device doing nothing, it's still draining when turned on. Factory reset made no difference either. The device is half decent ZTE Blade V9 Vita, it's not distributed in any market but Asian, as far as I know, but yeah. [link] [comments] |

| Facebook not opening from Messenger. Posted: 25 Mar 2020 03:14 AM PDT So as we all know messenger and Facebook are connected however my problem is, when I use messenger and when I click "view profile on Facebook" to view people it doesn't redirect me to the Facebook app but in a browser. How to make it default to Facebook app? | Transferring apps from old device to new device Posted: 25 Mar 2020 11:59 AM PDT I have at&t and will be upgrading my phone soon and i was wondering how i can transfer my apps with their data to my new phone. I have hesrd of the att mobile transfer app but apparently that only transfers contacts and pictures. Any advice? The stutter freezes video recording for a couple seconds and then continues. I've tried adjusting screen resolutions, changing video size, disabling and enabling video stabilization, and changing where videos are stored (internal and external). No luck. The questions I have are: What is the other OS that has been implemented in Xiaomi phones and how do I choose that and between basic Android? What are the differences between the two OSs? Is the new one more secure? Faster? Better optimized? If I buy Android, is it a problem if it's only Android version 9? How much will that last? How much is the minimum and how much is the recommended RAM and Storage space nowadays? What if I'm buying a phone for 3+ years? Considering Android is attacked as much as Windows (PC OS), at least the share of viruses is highest on Android compared to others do you need antivirus? Seriously if you want to go explore potentially dangerous sites (like "adult content") don't you need protection? Which antivirus is worth it? And firewall? If I want to game on it, what is that gamepad called that you can connect it to? How do you connect Ethernet to such a smartphone? Finally, I've never had to hard reset my phones. | Trying to get a beta version of an online game to work (Stormbound Kingdom Wars) Posted: 25 Mar 2020 11:43 AM PDT I have a beta APK of a game, and opening it gives an error regarding that a new version has been released. Turning WiFi off gives anther error about not having a connection. I'm 50% sure(ish) that user data is handled app-side and not server-side as I've seen cracked versions of this release. Fairly certain that player IDs are the only things handled by a server (which probably doesn't exist anymore). Does anyone know of a way to mod the APK such that we can bypass the version number check? (We're pretty clueless on APK modding) [link] [comments] |

Yesterday I was watching facebook videos on it and randomly the touch screen stops responding to touch. I've plugged it into the charger and restarted it and the device acts as though it works but the screen just doesnt respond to touch. Do you all have any recommendations to fix it or have had similar issues? I am not sure if any phone stores or anywhere that would be able to help are open for the foreseeable future. This morning I spilled half a cup of coffee on the couch, but I thought it missed my phone. ISo I cleaned up the mess and left my phone alone. I went to plug in my phone about an hour ago, and just checked it and it is not charging. I pulled out the charger and it is sticky. So there is clearly coffee in the charging port. One is using the standard AT&T router and the other is a Netgear router that runs PiHole. I'd like for my phone to automatically connect to the Netgear router, but the AT&T router has a stronger signal and my phone seems to want to connect to it over the Netgear router. I'd rather not "forget" the AT&T router, as occasionally I need to use it. How can I set up my phone to connect to the Netgear router automatically? Running Android 10 if that makes a difference. | I need some help with battery drain Posted: 25 Mar 2020 08:53 AM PDT So i've noticed that my battery is lasting way less than it used to in a 2 month old redmi 8a, I used to get 12 hr of SOT with some heavy gaming and watching youtube and stuff (and even then I charged it when it got to 25%) and now i'm getting around 7-8with lighter usage. I used the xiaomi debloat tools to see if it helped my battery life but it didn't, hell I think it made it worse, I also installed cpu-z to see if my cpu usage is high and I think it is, 4 cores are alway at 1600 mhz with the screen on and doing nothing and the other cores are always fluctuating from 600 to that or higher If any of you can give me some ideas i'd aprecciate it, but the thing is I don't want to root or install a custom rom because I can't risk anything going wrong and bricking my device because I'll never be able to buy a new one ( I'm venezuelan). Before the last update, I had managed to clean files and app caches which got me down 29GB. Post update, I got down to 28GB. Though, now I am at 31gb and i cannot go down. I use app cleaners and file manager apps, there is nothing new that i have noticed. Im sick of always having to clear more internal storage space just for it to randomly go back up to 30-31GB. Up to now, I've always used my phone in vibrate-only mode. However, I work for a relief organization and am currently supposed to establish enhanced operational readiness. Hence, I need to set up my phone in a way that a (loud!) alarm rings in case I receive an SMS message (our alert system works on SMS), and probably phone (just in case). If I do so, however, every mail, chat message, calendar push notification etc. will as well trigger a sound. I don't want to de-activate notifications for all these apps though. I like to get a (silent, vibrating) notification in case I receive an e-mail or chat message; don't want to miss these of course. But it is unbearable to get an alarm sound every few minutes due to these apps. How can I set up Android (9) so that only my SMS and Phone app trigger a sound with their notifications? A minute later, the touchscreen was not functioning. As a solution, I placed my phone in uncooked rice. After 12 hours, I checked the phone and was able to open it normally. It still has water inside. But after a few minutes the screen started flickering and went completely black. So I buried it again in uncooked rice. This time, with silica gel. After another 30 hours, I checked once again and the same thing happened. It opened normally but after a few minutes it went black. Is it because there still water inside? Is there any way this could be solved? Or should I consider buying a new screen? [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 25 Mar 2020 06:51 AM PDT I've had this G4 for about 4 years now, and recently it's been having issues. Often it freezes and reboots, sometimes it freezes when it boots and then it gets stuck. I have to hold to power button down to force shutdown. It's basically unusable because it crashes so often. Right now it is stuck off(or at least the screen is off), it crashed in the middle of me swiping through an iFunny ad on snapchat and stayed stuck on that for a good five hours. I finally noticed and shut it down by holding the power button for 30s. [link] [comments] |
