Is it possible to do remote work as a beginner? Posted: 25 Mar 2020 02:19 AM PDT I don't think I can ever get a brick and mortar job for android dev - not with this plague going around. I am looking towards doing remote work on sites like Fiverr (I'm sick of the bidding wars on other sites like Upwork and Freelancer) but is it possible to find and make clients while still starting out? What sort of apps should I make as portfolio? The one I am currently making is not really a commercial app, but just a demo. Also, are clients still hiring during this plague season? Stay away from appScatter Group/Airpush (renamed as Airnow) Posted: 25 Mar 2020 01:10 AM PDT Stay away from appScatter Group/Airpush (renamed as Airnow). The business model of this company is to steal developers' money by not paying their earnings. [link] [comments]
Testing Software(Android Studio) Posted: 25 Mar 2020 04:42 AM PDT Hi Guys I am currently building a statistics application and I am wondering if there is a simplistic easy to use test software that I can use with android studios I have never tasted before in my life. Thanks, Nisham [link] [comments]

Apps showing multiple times in Play Store Posted: 25 Mar 2020 12:56 AM PDT I know that there have been a lot of issues in the past (and probably current) of apps not showing up in the Play Store, but this is a new issue I found and am curious if anyone else has seen it. Multiple times I have searched for a key word and gotten results with the same app showing twice. I've verified that the apps are exactly the same (same package name, title, review count etc), and occurs randomly. These are not ads either as you can see the two ad titles at the very top of the list, these have always been below the ads. I assume Google is still working on issues with the algorithm? Posted: 25 Mar 2020 07:27 AM PDT Currently I'm on admob, and my app is offering free service but the revenue is not making enough for the server hosting. I don't plan to make profits, hoping to at least cover majority of the server costs. [link] [comments]

App publishing delays due to Corona? Posted: 25 Mar 2020 05:42 AM PDT Is anyone experiencing delays when trying to publish app updates? The Google play developer console has a message saying there could be delays. I've tried releasing internal tests and beta tests and both methods haven't worked for a few days. I assumed they automated this stuff but I guess maybe not. Is anyone else seeing delays? [link] [comments]

How does the TraceTogether Covid 19 app work? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 02:28 PM PDT I have been fascinated by this app by the Singapore Government "TraceTogether" (web: tracetogether . gov . sg) . So it can track close contacts using just Bluetooth. But both ios and android (since Marshmellow) don't let developers get the device's Bluetooth address. So how does it work? [link] [comments]
A library to request runtime permissions with Coroutines, Flow, LiveData, RxJava + easy DI Posted: 24 Mar 2020 04:57 PM PDT https://github.com/fondesa/kpermissions/ Hi guys, here is my library which can be used to request runtime permissions without a lot of efforts. It contains also secondary artifacts which extend the library adding the integration with Coroutines, Flow, LiveData, RxJava 2 & 3. The library is also designed to inject a permission request easily in your components, without exposing any Android class, to test your component purely in JVM (without using Android instrumented tests). It permits also to handle the result of a permission request after the process of your app has been killed. [link] [comments]
