| Sharing to facebook messenger not working Posted: 22 Mar 2020 03:14 AM PDT Im on android 9, aosp rom, and when i try to share something from another app to messenger it doesnt show me the screen where i can choose whom to send it to. Sometimes it sends me to the conversations screen, sometimes it just stays in said app. I tried cleaning storage and cache, uninstalling, restarting phone, nothing worked... What am I missing? | Pattern pin not accepted after starting android but ok before. Posted: 22 Mar 2020 02:49 AM PDT I have a Nexus 5 tablet the HTC one not sure what Android is running but I think it's 7 or 8? It suddenly it stopped accepting the pattern pin after the starting Android screen. My kids would quite often run it completely out of battery to the point it turns off then one day it started to accept the pin when it initially turned on or restarted but after starting android screen it will not accept the pattern pin and will keep letting you try the pattern as many times as you like never accepting the right or any pattern. Pattern pin obviously meant to be the same always on this device. Tried nothing and im out of ideas. Please help. [link] [comments] |
| Is it possible to select which Whatsapp drive backup to restore? Posted: 22 Mar 2020 05:45 AM PDT Hello, My mom phone died :( I had a old phone so she could use until get a new one. When we installed whatsapp it did not synced all the previous backup (~300MB), but at night it created a new backup with only that day messages (~11MB). Now I can't sync the old messages :( I tried uninstalling whatsapp to restore the drive backup but only the 11MB backup shows up. Can I choose to restore the other backup? Did she lost the messages? Posted: 21 Mar 2020 06:17 PM PDT I've watched many of Jerry Rigs videos and it seems that gorilla glass isn't supposed to be scratched by things like coins and keys. | Motorola G6 WILL NOT STOP asking for daily updates Posted: 22 Mar 2020 12:36 PM PDT This is interrupting my travel as sometimes I glance at google maps for a second when I know I'm safe and in the process get interrupted by the dang update screen. I get about 10 update screens a day that interrupt any app I'm in. I've followed the instructions on how to disable this screen: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Moto-Z%C2%B2-Play/Disable-update-notification-moto-z2-play/m-p/4087238 straight from the Motorola forums themselves, although not my exact device, the menus are the same. Is there some workaround where I can disable getting update requests? Even if it means altering system files, I'm so sick of it at this point I'll do anything to have a phone that lets me use it without interrupting me. [link] [comments] |
| Note 10+ randomly connecting to AirPods 2, even when pods are in case. Posted: 22 Mar 2020 11:43 AM PDT Title says it all. I'll be reading on my phone, AirPods2 in their case, and my phone will notify me that I'm now connected to my bluetooth device (the volume bar pops up at the top of the screen). I go into the bluetooth menu and see that my airpods are connected for calls and audio. I haven't tested if I actually still get sound out of my phone when this happens, but after a little while (sometimes minutes, sometimes hours) the connection drops and everything goes back to normal. I also have problems with sound cutting out while listening to podcasts and music. The music is downloaded, so no streaming issue; the sound just cuts in and out at random. Samsung Note 10+, Verizon, and using AirPods 2. I tried Galaxy Buds but they were awful, both in fit and in sound quality. I hated those things. AirPods are the only thing I've really been able to use comfortably, otherwise I'd ditch them. [link] [comments] |

| Xiaomi Mi A2 - Can't boot into recovery on slot A Posted: 22 Mar 2020 10:21 AM PDT I have a working modded Xiaomi Mi A2 (a phone with A/B partition slots), but it has a catch: I can use it only through slot B. I don't know how I got to this situation, but I really can't manage to make the recovery mode work on slot A (thus preventing me to boot there). If I erase the boot partition on both slots, flash on both of them the stock boot.img and try to reboot to recovery, slot B will boot to the regular dead android with the triangle, slot A will instead remain stuck on the boot screen (where it says "Android One"). Then, if I do the command "fastboot boot twrp.img" the phone will sometimes get into temporary recovery on both partitions (but sometimes it doesn't, I really can't find a reason why fastboot chooses to stay on "booting". After I force shut the device fastboot gives the error "Status read failed (Too many links)"). If I finally flash from the temporary recovery the TWRP installer zip it will unsurprisingly work on slot B and not work on slot A. (staying stuck on the boot screen) Thus if I need to install or update a custom ROM, because they are flashed on the inactive slot I have to get to slot A, boot the temporary recovery through fastboot (which is frustrating because as I said earlier it works whenever it wants), flash the ROM there, return to slot B and flash the rest. Which undermines the point of multiple partitions. So... how can I get slot A recovery mode to work? Thanks! [link] [comments] |

| Why Won't MiXplorer Download its Update? Posted: 22 Mar 2020 10:03 AM PDT MX10 Android TV box, Android 9.0 I use MiXplorer on my Android phone and on my Android TV box. When it comes time to update, MiXplorer throws a popup when I open the app and provides a Download button for the update. All works fine on my phone, but when I press the download button on the TV box, nothing happens. There is no update file in the Downloads folder, and there's no Notification history. Only the Storage permission is required. For now, I copy the apk from my phone to my TV box and then install manually. Any help troubleshooting this issue will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Something downloaded, but nothing new appears in my downloads folder. Now that contact says they didn't send me the message and I'm concerned I downloaded a virus. I saw that I had a couple from third-party apps just before my phone died, and now they're gone and I have no idea what they said. Kind of silly, but it bugs me that I don't know what they said. I have tried searching in "My Files" but it doesnt show any additional storage and I have tried several apps from the Google Play store and nothing has detected the extra storage. Any advice? My fix to this was to disable chrome but then it started happening on chrome canary (it was my main browser at the time). Then I decided to backup and factory reset my phone, both because of this and because I heard it improves battery life and switched to Samsung Internet, but it kept happening. Today, I disabled chrome again, but now it opens random pages on Samsung Internet. What can I do? Is there any app that might do this except for bixby/google routines (Checked and I don't have a routine that does this)? I don't think my phone got hacked, because it survived the reboot and I ran play protect, checkme by checkpoint, AVG antivirus, eset, malwarebyte and device care and none of them said anything except for that play protect said something about an app that I didn't use often so I uninstalled it but it was before this started happening but still maybe related, idk how the phone uninstalls apps [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 22 Mar 2020 08:26 AM PDT Hello I got an og Pixel on Verizon. I'm not good with phones so it's a refrub from Asurion. The battery is getting pretty abismal. I prob get about 3.5-4 hours on a full charge maybe. Sometimes it just dies at like 20% or even higher. I've tried going through my apps and clearing cache. Trying now just to run on battery saving mode, and am thinking of getting a portable charger to keep me alive for a bit. Also basically keeping my phone in the charger as much as I can I haven't done the discharge and fully recharge thing. Mainally because I cannot find concrete steps for this. Do I let it die then charge to 100% then turn on, or is it ok to have on. Also Charing is very finickly. I'm not sure what it is USB c to c charging is flakey (doesn't pick up), but a to c seems to be ok. I'm using a PD charger for c. Not sure if that's a problem or not I want to hang on to it for about another month hoping for the OnePlus 8, and hoping it comes to Verizon. [link] [comments] |
| Default Launcher Know Resetting (LG V35) Posted: 22 Mar 2020 08:05 AM PDT I have had Microsoft launcher downloaded and set as my default Launcher as long as I've had my phone (9 months) -- and I've had it on every Android phone I've used (last was a g6). Starting yesterday (March 21) my home button keeps asking which launcher I want to use every time. I select "Microsoft Launcher" and "Always" and it's ok for a few clicks and then it starts again. Then I go check my default Launcher setting and find it says "non selected" despite the fact that I haven't touched the setting since initial setup. I reselect Microsoft launcher and move on, and it works for a few clicks and then starts giving me the pop-up again. When I go back to default Launcher it says "none selected" again. What gives? I have tried restarting, I have tried "clearing up extra space". Any other ideas? [link] [comments] |
