Pokemon fangames now playable on android. Pokemon Reborn fully working.

    Posted: 31 Mar 2020 12:21 PM PDT

Just a random heads up to anyone interested. Pokemon fangames are now playable on android with the latest patreon build of Joiplay. App and RPG Maker plugin are needed. Both can be downloaded as apks from the Joiplay patreon and installed. About 30 mbs for both combined.

    Does not require internet.

Pokemon Reborn fully working, tested about seven hours so far with a single bug and minor lag on my Essential PH-1. Several other Reborn discord members can confirm this works, and Reborn can be llayed on phones.

Pokemon Metal working without problems. Pokemon Island has minor bugs. Pokemon Uranium working with bugs (memory leaks) that will be fixed in next update. Should be a week or so.

Do note that how well the game works depends on your phones RAM and processor. A common bug is the tiles not loading if your phone's processor is too low-end.

I have a mid-end phone, with 2.5GBs RAM and a Snapdragon 835 processor and it works with only very, very minor lag. Members have already found workarounds for tiles not loading due to lag on lower phones.

Save files can be sideloaded in from the PC version to continue playing on the go. Just copy the Game.rxdata from the Reborn PC folder to the one in your android storage.

    Instructions (links below):

    • Download and install both apks. One is the actual Joiplay app, the other is the RPGMaker plugin.

    • Open the Joiplay app.

    • Click the Add Game icon.

    • Enter the name, version number, then navigate to the unzipped Reborn folder on your phone and select the .exe.

    • Click the Add button. Click on Reborn's icon and play. Button on the top left drops down the keys, can be customized. First time booting up the game WILL take some time, as does the overall loading for areas and whatnot.

    Minor issues:

    • Reborn will not work if loaded from a .zip file. Must be opened folder.

    • Crashes if you chose Quit Game.

    • Some battle animation lag depending on phone and processor, can be fixed by using Fast Forward.

Links below: (older versions won't work)

Cheers, ya'll. Enjoy and spread the word to other pokefans out there.

Link to both needed links in the Rebornevo forums, as reddit removes them for spam if posted directly.

[REQUEST] I'm looking for some help finding a nostalgia game if anyone is interested

    Posted: 31 Mar 2020 07:05 AM PDT

I've been looking for a game that I know was removed from the app market in... God 2013?

It was a simple bubble pop game with green bubbles and a blue background. Pretty simple, it was on a grid about 5x4 with random bubbles placed. You would tap the bubble and once it reached a certain size it would pop, then shoot out it's liquid (?) In both horizontal and vertical directions. Those shots would collide with other bubbles and in term make them larger. You could potentially get a chain reaction that could clear the board and put you on the next level.

I am aware the app was removed, I went back to find it only to find out it was gone forever, but I'm asking if anyone knows a newer version of the same game so I can relive my tween days.

If anyone has a suggestion all are welcomed

[DEV] Me and my little brothers are near to release our first game!

    Posted: 31 Mar 2020 02:21 AM PDT

Lumbersquare is a hyper-casual game for mobile: cut a tree watching out for branches to get the higher score possible! 🌳🪓
The wood you get? It's carved in the factory and sold, so you can gain COINS!
What about coins? Spend them to upgrade your factory and earn every day more with less effort, or spend it to increase your level and unlock new skins!
This is it? NO! Improve your high score to unlock new trees, new axes and climb up the leaderboard!

The game was developed in 3 months with Unreal Engine 4. I did it completely alone with the support and some ideas of my little brother Nathan (he's just 6 y.o.) who learned also the basis of Blueprints, I actually spent a lot of time to get all Google Play features working (Leaderboards, Achievements, Saved Game in Cloud, In-App Purchasings, Pre-Registration rewards, Share of the score and so on).
I have to implement a chest reward system in those days and test translations before launch! I already got an interesting number of sign-ups to be my first release and my brother is so excited about that!

I also succeeded to set up pre-registration rewards, in this way users that pre-register are going to receive free extra skin!

I would really appreciate feedback, ideas or questions about the game or its developing :)

Chaos Rings is 10 years old this year, but you can't play it...

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 01:03 PM PDT

... so let's tell Square Enix we want it back!

    The Gist

If you're on their mailing list, Square Enix is sending around a survey gathering opinions on everything from their response to COVID-19 to your opinion on the best game of all time. There's also a box at the end to add your own comments, which I used to request an update for Chaos Rings I, II, and Omega so they can be played on modern devices again.

    How to Help

If you didn't get the email and want to help out, you can take it here and mention Chaos Rings too!

If you don't want to take a survey, the customer support page for Chaos Rings on Android is still up, oddly enough. There you can send an email directly, which I also have done.

    Chaos What?

If you're not familiar with the series, Chaos Rings was an early smartphone JRPG released in April 2010 with ports made to iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and even PlayStation Vita. It was incredibly ambitious for its time, bringing a full-fledged story with multiple character arcs and using a pre-rendered background style reminiscent of PS1 Final Fantasy games. The soundtrack was so good that Square Enix released it by popular demand.

The series was developed by Media.Vision, famously known for other games like Wild Arms, or more recently, some Digimon and Valkyria Chronicles games.

Not only was Chaos Rings impressive for its graphics and scope, the story was surprisingly deep and emotionally engaging for a mobile title. It quickly spawned a prequel, Chaos Rings Omega, and a sequel, Chaos Rings II, which dramatically expanded on the universe. Personally, it's one of the most influential series I've ever played, ranking right up there with much bigger titles.

Much later, Chaos Rings III released in 2016, but it's more of a spiritual sequel that only heavily alludes to past entries. That one is still compatible with modern Android and iOS devices.

    What Happened?

The original three games in the series were designed to run on very old versions of Android. When Google switched from the Dalvik runtime to ART, compatibility was broken with many older games, unfortunately including Chaos Rings. Rather than update the series, Square Enix simply pulled it from sale. A similar event occurred on iOS, the Amazon app store, the PlayStation Mobile store, and, well, we all know what happened to Windows Phone.

As it stands, the only way to play the game today is by emulating an Android 4.x environment on a PC, which I wrote about a few years ago. Since then, I've regularly received messages about my preservation efforts, leading me to believe there's still an audience for this series out there.

My hope is that with a notable event like a 10th anniversary, we can direct those messages to Square Enix instead and get enough attention for a proper re-release!

If you miss this series or would like to experience it for the first time, please consider joining me to make your voices heard!

Since the second one is free, I got both monument valley games and I like them a lot. The art, the audio, etc are all really well done, and I pretty much played through them all in a couple days.

    Any recommendations for similar games?
