Posted: 25 Feb 2020 03:54 PM PST Hi everyone! I'm currently renovating my kitchen and am wondering which gadget would be better. I started with a Home Hub which was great but too small. Then I upgraded to a Lenovo display and the slight increase in size was appreciated. Now I'm not sure if I should get a nest hub max or try a monitor + mi box combo. The main uses for my previous displays were to show family pictures in ambient mode, watch some videos (mainly YouTube) while cooking or eating and some commands for some smart lights and stuff like that. I started thinking about maybe a 20in monitor with built-in speakers as I think the size would be great. If I wall mount it I could attach a mi box behind it. My concerns would be the photo display part (I've read contradicting info regarding the box's ability to show photos?) and the commands (I suppose I could have a Google home mini nearby to still use commands?) Does anyone have a setup like this or any ideas what would be better? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 25 Feb 2020 03:11 PM PST Trying to install Filelinked on my android box and can download it no problem; and then as soon as I attempt to install it, it fails. Keep getting "app not installed.' Error. Have No idea what I could be doing wrong. Any help or suggestions? I downloaded Chrome and am using it as my Browser and I proceed to filelinked.com and download from there and then same problem every time. [link] [comments]
Facebook Watch doesn't start streams on mi box s Posted: 25 Feb 2020 11:05 AM PST I live in Brazil and the channel that holds the rights for the UCL here streams some matches on Facebook Watch. I would like to use my My Box to watch today's matches but the streams (or any video for that matter) start playing. [link] [comments]
Set top box for Steam Link with HDMI 2.1 + Gigabit LAN Posted: 25 Feb 2020 03:25 PM PST I just recently bought an LG OLED TV that has NVidia Gsync and is capable of 4k at 120hz. In another room I have a desktop PC and I am planning to stream games from the desktop PC to my TV using Steam Link (I have a direct CAT-7 connection with the desktop PC so I shouldn't have any real latency issues). Initially I was thinking of getting the latest NVidia Shield TV however it doesn't support HDMI 2.1 which means it can't support 4k at 120hz. Does anyone know (or can anyone recommend) an Android TV Box which does have support for HDMI 2.1 as well as gigabit LAN port? Also if it has support for Dolby Vision that would also be fantastic since I also want to watch 4k movies that have Dolby Vision on my TV. [link] [comments]
Can you play local multiplayer using an emulator on an Android TV box? Posted: 25 Feb 2020 02:41 PM PST Let's say I have an Android TV box, two compatible USB controllers, and an emulator with games. Could I play local multiplayer? Has anyone here tried? [link] [comments]
X99 Android TV box of course with crappy interface.. Posted: 25 Feb 2020 01:05 PM PST So given the above (that I discovered) is there hope already or upcoming for a firmware with the same ability to download stuff off playstore but also that's remote control friendly?I tried mouse and keyboard and only keyboard worked and 30% of the time there's places on the UI that won't work or my cursor/focus can't go there. It's very awkward to tab tab tab and hit a wall so my question basically is is there a firmware (I think a launcher would not be enough) that helps that. If I was the only one that would have to deal with it sure but I hope to have the wife and kids be able to use it.I want it to be able to stream stuff off my NAS + play netflix at least in HD (would like tips for that btw) + google videos and google play music and ofc youtube so I don't want to 'convert it' to a kodi box. Looking forward to your bright ideas and thanks for reading :) Edit: https://www.geekbuying.com/item/X99-MAX-Plus-Amlogic-S905x3-Android-9-0-TV-Box-4GB-64GB-422734.html [link] [comments] |
