    I know it's bad to keep your phone's battery at 100% for extended periods of time, and that's exactly what you're doing to the battery if you keep Android Auto running if you run Android Auto long enough, the battery will fill up and then it'll stay full since you have to keep it plugged in. I imagine it doesn't really matter for an occasional 30 minute drive but what if, say, you wanted to do a long road trip? Or what if you were doing it for 2 hours every day?

    Galaxy S10+ on the off chance that matters.

    P.S. I tried to Google around on this myself before posting this, but most of what I was getting was about the potential for your battery to drain even while plugged in while running Android Auto since you're simultaneously running the projection, using the GPS, etc.

    [Pixel 4XL] Google Assistant update no longer asks for confirmation on dictated texts before sending.

    I've been noticing this since the update last week. I drive a lot, and use Google Assistant to send texts all the time.

    My Google Pixel 4XL, when responding to, "OK Google, Text so-and-so", will listen to the message and then send immediately when I finish talking. Previously, it would respond, "So that's a text to so-and-so reading, 'I'll be there in 15 minutes.' Is that right?" and I could confirm or change it.

    Now, if there's a mistake in the text (as there often is) from either me mispeaking or Google mishearing me, I have to send a follow up text.

    Is there a way to re-enable confirmation before the text sends again? I haven't been able to find the feature in settings.

    I have a Samsung A8, running Android 9. I need to use this phone in a work context where it acts as a screen that never dims or goes to sleep. I installed an app called Caffeine that is supposed to achieve this, but after I installed it I couldn't find it anywhere. Does anyone have a recommendation of an app that would solve this problem, or how Caffeine works? Thanks!

    Any way to install Samsung Sound Assistant app on a non-Samsung phone? (Pixel 4 in this case)

    I'd like to control volume on a per-app basis. I often play emulators while listening to podcasts but the SNES emulator I have has no internal volume control.

    I tried other snes emulators but they run like shit and the android port of RetroArch is fiddly and frequently crashes, so I'm stuck with this one to get through the next few games on my list.

    Samsung offers this Sound Assistant app for their phones but I can't load the .apk onto my Pixel 4 (Sound Assistant crashes on startup)

    I'm open to any solution here.. Can I somehow install the Samsung launcher and that will let me sideload the Sound Assistant that way? Is there any jailbreaking or unofficial launchers that have the same option as the Samsung Sound Assistant?

    Emulation and podcasts are probably the things I use my phone for most aside from work and texting. Really would like a solution here.

    Galaxy Note 8 to Galaxy A71 Upgrade?

    I currently own a Galaxy Note 8 but I've been really impressed with the reviews and coverage for the Galaxy A71 as well as the pricetag for it. I'm also interested in the older Galaxy A70.

    From those who have used the A series, would this be an upgrade or would I be disappointed if I bought it? The A71 isn't available in stores in my area so i haven't gotten a chance to play with it like i usually like to do before buying a new phone.

    is it worth it to debloat your phone anymore? especially if you have a fairly new phone? does it increase battery life? or any other benefits?

    My device is "Galaxy S8' the global version running android 9.0

    i have no carrier apps bloatware or anything like that like i said its global version

    so i wanted to use ADB to remove apps i never use but is it worth it?

    i would prob only do it if it increases battery life, unless there are other benefits from it?

    Logging out of a secondary user profile on Android 9.0

    I can switch between primary & secondary user profiles on my Samsung tab S6, but background services are still running consuming memory etc.

    My secondary user profile consumes 400-600MB of ram while I switched back to primary.

    How do you fully log out of the secondary user profile?

     

    Android Documentation states:

    Logout

    Android 9.0 added a log-out button to the lock screen so that a person using the device can end their session.

    However, I can't find this button on my lock screen.

     

    I did find some command line to stop the user session.

    Tilt level on Camera app

    I was taking a picture of something this morning with the stock Camera app on my Pixel 3 and a tilt level showed up. It would go away on its own, too, seemingly when I tilted too far.

    This is actually a neat feature. However, I have no idea why it popped up, I can't seem to consistently make it pop up, and I can't find any way to turn it on manually.

    Does anyone have any idea?

    Lenovo Phab 2 Pro won't connect to WiFi at my new place. All my other devices connect without issue. And my phone connects to other networks without issue.

    It connected fine at first, for maybe a week. Not sure if an update happened or something and I didn't notice. I have tried a few things:

    • forgetting the network
    • restarting the phone
    • turning WiFi off and on again
    • turning airplane mode off and on again
    • unplugged the router for about ten seconds
    • I believe we reset the router (had to log in with generic password again. I was getting some help.)

    The only other thing I can think of is a factory reset which is going to be a pain but I will do it. Looking for additional possible solutions people might know of before I try it. I have tried googling this problem and that was the only solution I could find, and it seemed like half of the people who tried it still said it didn't work.

    Samsung A50 Problems

    Hi,

    for about 2 weeks I've been experiencing issues with my phone

    Random reboots,Random Shutdowns,

    Random Freezes,

    Keyboard Freezes,

    apps also freeze randomly, not under heavy load.

    Sometimes when I open youtube/netflix/instagram/a video in browser the Video will play but at a random speed, with no sound and I can't controll or pause it.

    Playing music thru Spotify doesn't always work but Google play music (.mp3 files) do always work (unless the app refuses to boot)

    Usually when I restart the phone (Powerbutton + vol down) it fixes it for a random period of time, sometimes I must restart it once sometimes five times

    The phone is a samsung A50 bought on release and always kept up-to-date. (edit: europe btw)

    The phone's screen has been replaced by samsung and I've never had any other issues with the phone.

    cleared cache,

    ​

    I'm considering Rooting hoping this might fix it but I do still have warranty on the product so I could also let samsung check it (means no phone for an extended period of time... ffs)

    Moto G7 Power with 64 GB storage?

    Hi all i'm looking to buy a new phone and the G7 Power looks like a very attractive option. Is the G7 Power with 64 GB a good buy? Like this one:

    My understanding is G7 Power only come with 32 GB? Is this a "modified" version by a 3rd party?

    Custom kernel for the Galaxy S9

    The performance on my S9 is garbage. I am hopping to improve it with ElementalX, but as this is my first time installing a custom kernel I have some questions:

    1. Any other kernel that is better than ElementalX for the S9? (Using one UI 2, I am mainly looking to improve performance)
    2. Do I just download the zip, boot into twrp, and then flash it? No root required? (My bootloader is unlocked)
    3. Will I still receive OTAs? If so, can I update without breaking anything or acsidently wiping it or something?
    4. Any other side effects of installing a custom kernel?

    Can't register my voice on google assistant

    I'm using a Redmi Note 8 and saying "hey google" or "ok google" doesn't work. I tried to register my voice on google assistant. Everytime i try i just get stuck here on this part http://imgur.com/gallery/c9qSoBd it hears my voice but won't go to the next part?

    Things i tried

    Restart my phone

    Turn off battery saver / give exemption

    Give full permission

    Change languages

    Reinstall Google

    Any idea whats happening?

    All parts of my phone except lock screen are tinted black

    As the title says, my OnePlus 6T is having this weird issue where the lock screen is the right color, but everything else is tinted dark. Anyone know a fix for this?

    Gcam on S8 but no astrophotography

    As title says. I installed the latest gcam on my S8 (7.3.018.291816413) and when I go to night sight there is no astrophotography. I check advanced settings and it is turned on in the settings but there is nothing in the app itself to take astro pictures. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Android Secure Folder + TXT messages

    Question to the group Asking for a friend :)

    I have a secure folder, I want to have a cloud TXT app in the secure folder (testing out 2nd line and burner right now) I open up also a WhatsApp account with the second number.

    Question, I cannot seem to be able to copy all my texts from the unsecure to the secure folder in an app. Secure folder doesn't have a TXT native app either. Any thoughts ?
