    Posted: 27 Jan 2020 04:12 AM PST

Hi, I'm looking for some app with ability to hide progress bar. It's big spoiler when I watch some recorded sport event and I see the length of the video. Do you have any advice?

    Which SmartTVs has Android TV?

    Posted: 27 Jan 2020 07:42 AM PST

AFAIK only Sony, Sharp and TCL? Do they came with Pie or upgradable to Pie?

I need 4K Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, and HBO Max. I would consider a dumb-4K TV as well, and buy a Shield if I can't get a smart TV.

Xaomi Miibox S + Xbox ONE Controller disable going home when Xbox button is pressed?

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 08:03 PM PST

Title pretty much says it all. I was wondering if there is a way to disable the "Xbox" button from sending you home, this really sucks when trying to Play games via steam link or moonlight. CHEERS!

Prevent TV from turning off on sleep when CEC is enabled on Mi Box S

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 05:43 PM PST

I have CEC enabled on Mi Box S and LG TV. If I set sleep to 1 hour of inactivity and change Android tv hdmi input to Cable tv hdmi input, the TV will turn off in 1 hour due to CEC.

Is there a way to make it so the Mi box goes to sleep only when it's the active input but not if I switch to another hdmi input without disabling CEC or increase Mi Box sleep hours?

    TCL annoying CEC screen remote

Whenever I use the T-Link HDMI CEC compatibility on my TCL EP640 the annoying TV screen remote appears and cannot be erased from the screen until I change the source. Does anyone know a bypass to this?

    Best TV box under $50?

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 12:53 PM PST

Hey guys, I'm looking for a pretty budget TV box under $50, I really don't need much from it but here are a few things that are very important for me:

Speed - I've had experience with super slow smart TV devices in the past, generally a cheap smart TV is simply pure sh*t.So I don't really need anything that should be capable of gaming, I'll probably never use that, but I do want the TV box to operate fast.

Outer storage ability - Probably the most important thing for me is a device that will be able to hold up external storages(flash drive, SD card, HDD(?)). I believe I've seen some TV boxes that only support up to 64GB of SD card, I would really love to have the ability to use more than that so I won't have to mess with it too frequently.

Flexibility - I have a fair bit of knowledge about android devices, I don't like being limited, I know that most TV boxes come with root access, but that's very important for me to have the freedom to do whatever I wish in case I need it.

Things that aren't important for me:

My TV screen is 50 inch and only supports 1080P, I have no need for 4K/8K streaming whatsoever.I probably won't use netflix with it, so 1080P/4K netflix support is not important.I probably won't use the TV box for gaming at all, but could be a nice plus.My usual internet speed is around 100MB, so 1000MB might not be necessary, it would be a nice to have on the way though.

So far I believe my best options are either the A95X F3 or X96 AIR with the A95X F3 looks a bit better to me. There's also the MAGICSEE N5 PLUS which looks ok, it also has the ability to connect an HDD which is fairly amazing, but the drawbacks are worse performance, no miracast and the price which is a bit higher.

I've also seen the new X96 max plus which looks really really good overall, but haven't seen much reviews of it yet, so I can't judge about that yet.

Anyway, would love you hear some recommendations, thanks! :)

    Edit:

So, a lot of comments, some of them are useful, some of them aren't.

The last thing I'd like to know is if someone has actually tried the A95X F3 or X96 AIR.
Cheap products can be found anywhere, but I've seen really good reviews about them and I honestly can't see any reason why it wouldn't be good for MY NEEDS. A few examples:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiUsMzQZHIY
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQf3TomswV8

I mean, it actually runs heavy games which I obviously don't need, don't see how it would struggle with any of my other low requirements.

Useful replies would be appreciated so I'll be able to decide between this and the Mi box.

    Thanks.

HELP - How to miracast/screen mirroring to Mi box S

HELP - How to miracast/screen mirroring to Mi box S

Hi, guys! I have the Mi box S 4K model MDZ-22-AB for a couple of months now and still haven't figure out how to screen mirroring my Redmi Note 4X smartphone. With a Samsung Smart TV I have here in my house, all I have to do is go to the cast menu on my phone and select my TV. I thought that it would be the same with the Mi box, but my phone can't find it. I tried other phones too and they see only the Samsung TV.

I know that if I have the Google Home app on my phone logged into my Google account, I can add the Mi box to my "Home" and then I might be able to mirror the screen, but, I don't use Google account. My phone is "Google-free" (microG user).

Should I be able to screen mirroring like any normal device, by just select the receiver under the list? Can I do that without Google Home app?

BTW, the box is running Pie. The same was happening in Oreo, so it's not the Android version.

    Resolution Issue: Blurry Text/Picture

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 05:04 PM PST

    Hello,

I have a basic Android Box which I use for streaming my online content (TV Upstairs).

The device itself is the 'Sunvell t9', it's actually not bad at all for the price I have paid and with other TV's it's been absolutely fine. However, with my TV upstairs the picture isn't very clear.

    The text is quite blurry.

I've used an application to check the resolution, as my TV is Android based (yet it's only 1gb and struggles with some apps) - the TV is clear, the Android box isn't.

I don't see any difference in the resolution or screen density.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing the issue?
