- Hi Everyone, I am happy to share, that ambilight modding is possible on non Philips Ambilight Android tvs. Apart from aerial TV and Netflix, so far everything is working as expected. The total conversation costed me around £35,and half of my day, but it worth every single penny. Enjoy :)

Posted: 05 Jan 2020 01:29 AM PST Hi. I am from India and i am looking to buy an android tv , preferably 55 inch for a budget of about 45k indian rupees. I am looking for a tv that supports 4k, has Netflix and prime video. HDR and Dolby vision would be a bonus. I was looking at the new nokia tv and the mi tvs. But a lot of them have reported to have backlight bleeding issues on the account of the panel not being great. Just thought I'll get some insights from you guys. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]

Usb ethernet adapter recommendations for Mi S Box? Posted: 04 Jan 2020 05:22 PM PST Looking for any you have had good luck with? My Mi box is actually working surprising well over Wifi, but I would still like an adapter to limited my wifi use as I already have a lot of devices on it. Thanks. [link] [comments]
Can I connect an Nvidia Shield box to a Sony Bravia TV? Posted: 04 Jan 2020 06:16 PM PST I'm not sure how it works and was wondering if I could use the Shield with my current TV due to problems with Sony Bravia. Looked up solutions but most just said to get a "dumb" tv and the box. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Help regarding some weird latin Android TV Box manufacturer? Posted: 04 Jan 2020 07:37 PM PST I recently bought an Android TV Box, from a latin company called Ghia. Specifically the model GAC-116. It worked fine, although I started discovering and discovering more and more inconveniences. The GUI was clunky, it did not work at all, it crashed a lot, and overall the poor software designing quality was bad. Is there anyway to somehow flash the firmware of the native Android TV OS that actually works, with Netflix and all those apps supported? Because I've already tried multiple solutions, all the way up to changing the launcher witch ultimately did nothing since the system reverted back tot eh old one which looks ugly as heck and doesn't work that well, without mentioning that pretty much all of the short cuts to apps are broken. I also can't get Netflix working, nor the "Official Google Android TV Remote" or any app related to android TV at all. Kodi works, but the integration and the netflix add-on just doesn't play video and just plays audio. Please help. [link] [comments]
Disable Controller controlling UI Posted: 04 Jan 2020 08:12 AM PST Hi, I just wanted to know if it's possible to deactivate a controller to control the UI of the Android TV (using Nvidia Shield and Nvidia controller). The reason being is that I am using Shadow on Shield to game on my TV (Cloud based Windows 10 machine). But every time I move any of the two sticks or the D-Pad an overlay is activated in the top middle of the screen for adjusting bandwith and other stuff (which is actually not accessable on Android TV, just on regular Android). It is triggered by the input as if you would touch your Phone. Hope someone has any suggestions. Thanks in advance :) [link] [comments]
Unable to get remote access to my iPhone Posted: 04 Jan 2020 02:46 PM PST I have been trying to get remote access to my iphone11pro max for about a month. I got it to work for a brief minute. On my phone, it keeps saying that my setup "Remote Access is enabled but we can not reach your server please ensure port 8089 has been properly forwarded to your router to the IP address channels DVR server on." I also checked with portchecker.co and it says my port is open. I have access to my plex when I am outside my home. When I didn't purchase the DVR service yet I was able to watch my TV I just couldn't record after I purchased the DVR feature now I cant watch outside my home. I am not sure what the problem is. I need help. Outside of this remote access issue with my iPhone, I really like the Channels DVR. Thank You in advance for your help. cc [link] [comments]

How do I turn on subtitles in VLC for Android TV when it’s a separate file? Posted: 04 Jan 2020 11:28 AM PST The subtitle file is in the same folder as the video file, and has the exact same title. I thought it would turn on automatically as it does for VLC on desktop or mobile but it doesn't. And even when I try to select subtitles it doesn't work. Can someone please walk me through it step by step? Thanks. [link] [comments]
Lost ethernet connection after enabling a VPN Posted: 04 Jan 2020 09:17 AM PST hey guys, have a weird issue on my Philips Android TV: Activating a VPN Service via an app (tried 3 different apps) results automaticly in losing my internet connection. The only solution then is to disable the VPN, plug the ethernet cable out and plug back in. Anyone had/having a similar situation and knows a trick? Specs: - Latest Philips Firmware - Android TV 9 - October 2019 Patch. Kernel Version 4.9.125. - TV is connected to a FritzBox Router on 7.12 Version Cheers [link] [comments]
