The pattern I was putting in was incorrect. I have tried many times already, and each attempt locks me out for an hour now. | New to Android coming from Apple Ecosystem Posted: 06 Jan 2020 09:09 AM PST Currently still using iPhone 6 16GB and ordered the mid budget phone of the year the little brother Mi 9T/K20. It's a pretty significant jump for me and I'll still be using and syncing to my MacBook Pro. My question is what programs and/or downloads are user friendly for Android to Apple to Android so that I can still find downloaded music from my Mac and place them neatly on my phone? Same for photos? Apple is great with the Eco but I'm ready for a phone change and excited for the phone. Any help from those who have transitioned but still use both is greatly appreciated! Posted: 06 Jan 2020 03:12 AM PST I received an OTA upgrade of my phone this morning and I'm seeing new ad-ridden "partner" apps from my carrier that I can't even uninstall (only disable). It's not a device purchased through that carrier, I bought it new from Sony. After a quick search this function seems to be handled by Google Carrier Services so I would think that this is common to all Android phones, but I might be wrong and somehow my specific vendor (Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact) is the one installing those apps. Anyone with experience in preventing this kind of behaviour? Basically, I just don't want my Android device installing any app without me asking for it. [link] [comments] |
| Romoss powerbank charges my Asus android phone so slowly Posted: 06 Jan 2020 03:01 AM PST I bought a Romoss Sense6p recently online and am currently using it to charge my Asus Zenfone Live L1. It charges so slowly. Theres even an instance where it doesnt even charge and just drains my phones battery. I've tried different connectors and I dont know what the problem is. Is it just a problem with my phone? Or is the powerbank defective? Should I try draining the powerbanks battery completely? Ive been charging my phone for almost 6 hours now and it charged 13% of my battery (from 31% - 44)%. Any suggestions or advice? [link] [comments] |
| Please help me recover my mums photos from her phone. Posted: 06 Jan 2020 05:18 AM PST Hey guys, desperately in need of help trying to recover some photos from my mom's phone. I tried to copy all the photos over to my computer, which seemed to be working fine, then proceeded to delete said photos as we were trying to save space. Apparently some photos from my grandmas funeral are missing and I'm trying everything I can to recover them for my mum's sake. I have looked through both the phone and my computer where I copied the photos and they are not there. Is there any way to retrieve these files? | Posted: 06 Jan 2020 03:22 AM PST Can you please help me re-enable my logs? I disabled it by renaming "logd" in system/bin to "logd.bak" a while back. I recently wanted to re enable it but no file explorer was able to rename it back to "logd" after granting su permissions and enabling all (srwx) file permissions. I finally renamed it to "logd" via TWRP file manager but logging is still not working because logcat reader apps load forever with no text and other apps that use logcat don't work either. Please help! Also, if I ever decide to disable logd again, is there a correct way of doing it? Someone suggested simply renaming this file and it seemed kind of hacky to me. If you're curious to know why I wanted to disable it in the first place, it's because LG has a root checking service (rctd, I think) that kind of cripples your device once it detects that you're rooted. It basically spams your system logs and bogs down your device by taking CPU resources. [link] [comments] |
| Problem with playing large music files Posted: 06 Jan 2020 10:10 AM PST Hey, I got a quick question i was hoping you guys would be able to help me with. Whenever I download a music track that is 11+ minutes (give or take a few) the track seems to get messed up. It will start fine, but then about halfway through the track just cuts to the start of the track and starts playing it from there again. The music files play fine on my computer, but when put onto my phone they do what I just described. I have done both a file transfer, and directly downloading the files onto the phone but it happens either way. Anyone else encounter this or have an idea on how to fix? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 06 Jan 2020 02:34 AM PST It's one of their central marketing bits for the new flagship in February but I'm curious of the actual difference it would make compared to the previous version or even compared to the 11 Pro. More MP doesn't mean better pictures so how much would this actually make your photo's better? Would it only be apparent in certain scenarios? If so which ones? I'm looking to upgrade from my S8 soon and I'm planning some solo travels so I would rather have the best possible phone with me to get some crispy pictures of my adventures. [link] [comments] |

I wish to update to the newest security patch, and wondered how to do this without wiping the device using Odin? The firmware Ive downloaded contains 4 files: The bootloader file (BL), Android partition (AP), modem firmware (CP) and the consumer software customization file (CSC). | [HELP] Android Kitkat Storage Overload Posted: 06 Jan 2020 09:14 AM PST Now, it boots in an absurd way that it skips "asking for the pass" session and a notice that says "Unfortunately, the process.com.android.systemui has stopped" keeps appearing every time it's closed. How can I backup my data safely and reset it from my PC?. Already tried many apps and still not working, but thankfully I already activated the debugging. The phone is Samsung J1 Ace. I am trying to find the cheapest Android phones that meet the following parameters. Must be Kit Kat or higher. Must be dual-band. I will only be having them connect via the 5 GHz band. I don't want my notification drawer/banner filled with stuff that is not important but when I turn those off (via settings or long-press the notification) this seems to also turn off the app badge and message count. | Booting back to TWRP after flashing custom rom. Please help.! Posted: 06 Jan 2020 03:45 AM PST Hi, I've ported Los based ROMs (tried 6.0 and 7.1 roms) to my device (6.0). AFAIK, porting has no issues, tried all guides available. But after flashing the rom from twrp (no error shown after flashing). It just reboots back to TWRP. No bootanimation, nothing. Just shows Android logo and boom, back again to TWRP. After reboot, I can't see files in /system/. The system gets unmounted. Chipset is mt6753. | How to unlock my device from Google's Find My Device? (website) Posted: 06 Jan 2020 06:57 AM PST I secured my device (Samsung A20) with a message via Find My Device but received no option to unlock it without erasing its data. Luckily, I was able to get it to unlock eventually via Google Assistant (I just said "Ok Google" and logged in with my Google account and it was unlocked). But I only got lucky because I decided to set up voice recognition on the phone for once. How would I go about unlocking a device in which I DON'T have Google Assistant nor voice recognition active? Would I really need to erase all data? Or is there another way to unlock it? Note I did not receive a passcode to unlock it or anything. On my devices, I use mainly android 7 and 9.0 Pie and I believe my tablet is still running Android 6.6.2 (haven't checked in a while so not completely sure).
