Firefox Lite keeps adding more bloat

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 01:39 PM PST

A month ago a user posted this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/dq1g2h/firefox_lite_now_comes_with_unremovable/.

    I also noticed https://github.com/mozilla-tw/FirefoxLite/releases:

The new Firefox Lite now features :

    a. Smart shopping search - easily compare prices across multiple shopping sites at once.

    b. More content - free games, news. (Shopping deals are available in India and Indonesia.)

Fast and lightweight, now loaded with fun!

I am not against monetization, but I thought an app called Lite continuing to get more and more bloat could be of interest to some.

Mozilla has this doc published about the shopping search https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/perform-price-comparisons-firefox-lite.

    Switched from a OnePlus 6 to a Pixel 3a: here's my thoughts

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 12:25 PM PST

Hello everyone, if anyone was on the edge of doing a similar switch like me, feel free to give my post a read. I've made the switch mostly becuase the battery life on my OP was really bad after trying lots of stuff.

I saw the best buy deal and a friend of mine living in the US was coming to visit so I decided to give it a shot. (paid $330 final) it is also the 2nd phone I have bought in new condition. I sold my OP6 in $350 for a profit of $20 lol

I've had the phone for 2 days and I miss some OP stuff, their gestures I find way superior than stock A10 ones, Google just added 3rd party launcher support for the gesture on the December release while I always had great usage since the first official release of A10 on the OP6.

While they are now supported here on my Pixel, they feel woonky and not as refined as the latter.

The camera on the pixel is really great

I still keep the headphone jack and its awesome.

The downgrade in chip ( 845 to 670) doesn't feel too much, as I use the phone for small daily tasks like messaging and social media mostly, and just installed CoD which the phone can run really good on high settings and not get hot (just played for an hour)

Too early to comment on battery life as I've been toying around with it too much, as flashing kernel and mods, and setting up root and restoring apps. But for the 2 days it has been good atm (I'm at 40% with 3 hrs screen on time)

I also miss TWRP as it doesn't work on A10 on the 3a yet, so flashing stuff is via magisk or patching the boot.img (it's easy but if phone doesn't boot, you need to connect it to a pc while with twrp it was a quick easy fix)

With that said, I haven't got working xposed yet but I don't wanna tinker too much since I rely on this device for daily use, and without twrp it gives me second thoughts.

The device has been great and look forward to using it more.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask or discuss!
