    Why does YouTube keep auto-linking/streaming to our LG smart TV? It's such a privacy risk (NUDE MODEL PORN ALT BREACH)

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 04:05 AM PST

    So this morning I was browsing Reddit on my porn alt, and one of the subs had a video of some Chilean nude models, which obviously caught my attention. I use boost for reddit and any YT link usually opens in app, which is fine, but I accidentally clicked the YouTube button and it loaded the YouTube app. No worries I thought; until I switched back to this account, started browsing through normal stuff then noticed a YouTube notification to "resume playing Chilean nude models on LG TV".

    Now that I've got your attention, as they had mine, how the hell do I turn this off? Just, you know, given that my mother was in the living room watching TV with my NIECE while my phone was trying to link with it (the youtube app loads, full screen). FFS this is a complete breach of porn alt and I need to resolve it.

    I've checked the YT history and it seemingly didn't play, but I bet it said something along the lines of "Chilean nude models - connecting with smartphone OnePlus 6 blah blah blah" but my mother didn't click connect. My niece hasn't seen anything, she would have mentioned it straight away, but my mam probably did.

    Anyway this has happened many times with more innocuous stuff i.e not the many and wonderus nude model models of Chile and it's irked everyone for a while because it just takes over whatever you're watching and brings up the YouTube app.

    Now for the technical details: OnePlus 6 phone Android 9/Oxygen OS LG Smart TV with YouTube app/latest OS & app To be fair it happens with any android phone/tablet in the house if you accidentally click the button.

    I can tell that it's linking because we're on the same WiFi network so it assumes it's okay, but it's such an annoying and obvious privacy/security/porn alt breach, especially given I can't find an option to prevent linking with the TV anywhere on the phone or the TV.

    But surely there must be a fix given the problems this could raise in shared accommodation etc when you're all on the same WiFi network and numerous phones/TV's could be connected.

    So any ideas? Thanks. And thanks to those models while we're at it.

    How to remove words from dictionary (basic words NOT learned words)

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 11:08 AM PST

    There are certain words in the autocorrect that really piss me off. For example my phone prioritizes the word "three" every time I try to write "the" and I want to remove the word "three" from my phone's dictionary. Obviously this is not a learned word and it's only an easy feat to remove learned words.

    Randomised MAC address not default setting - despite saying so in settings

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 11:01 AM PST

    I have a question regarding the randomised MAC address feature in Android 10: When going into the settings page of a WiFi connection, randomising the MAC address is described as "(default)". Yet when I connect to an entirely new WiFi network, it applies the "device MAC address setting" unless I switch it manually to randomised through the "additional settings" page.

    Is that a bug? Or do I misunderstand the feature?

    I use a Xiaomi Mi 9t Pro. miui 11.0.1.0.

    Hide notification pop up without any app

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 07:12 AM PST

    I see there are lot of Playstore apps to block Apps notifications but all of them suck. I don't know whether there are some good apps but all i find was shit tone of apps.

    I just want no notification pop ups or alerts while watching movies or playing games. So there's Do not disturb mode on the Oreo OS and if i am not wrong this feature should be present in later OS too.

    I just activated Do not Disturb mode and i set it to Priority or you can set to whatever you want. Just enable the calls and messages or it's your wish. Don't turn ON the Total Silence thing. I can't listen audio while watching movies and there's also Block Visual distribances option to block notification pop-ups and alerts but you can still receive/see the notifications in the notification panel without any disturbances(pop ups, alerts)

    How do I hack into my screenless device?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 09:24 AM PST

    Hello,

    I have a Fiio M7 (a digital audio player) and the screen is just dead (no display, no touch response). I highly doubt a shop can repair my device since sales are low so i don't know if they have spare parts.
    Anyway, back to my main issue. I'd like to hack into my device because there is a USB DAC mode that can still be useful to me.
    If there is a way I could play around with the settings without having the screen. There is already in UI settings to make that possible. I just can't access them with the dead screen.

    Thanks

    How to get this Android screensaver?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 11:44 AM PST

    So on some Android devices, there is this screensaver named "Colors". I have an cheapo Aspen tablet that has it (and it is rooted). It's a nice screensaver I like, but on my LG Aristo 2, it's not there. I tried searching "colors screensaver" on Google Play and on normal Google but it doesn't bring up the actual screensaver. Also, do Android screensavers come in APK? Or is there even a file format for them.

    I want to downgrade from Android 9 to Android 4.2.2. How would I go about this ?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 09:54 AM PST

    No, there isn't a typo in the question. Here's the thing: I want to use my wiimote with Android. A long time ago, when I used a Samsung Galaxy S2, I could connect my Wii's bluetooth controllers to the phone and play games for hours and hours. Everything was so great. One of my favorite memories is coming home from school and running to my desk to play games on the phone with my Wii controllers. I miss it very much and it would mean the world to me if I could get that working again.

    Here's the problem though, after Android 4 (Kitkat) they removed some part of the bluetooth driver that Android used which caused Wii controllers to stop working with Android. Which is absolutely terrible and makes me want to die.

    Now, I think the only way to fix this problem is to go back to Android 4 and play from there. I don't care what I have to sacrifice to get it, but I want to be able to use Wii controllers on my phone.

    My current phone is an Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 that came with Android 8 (Oreo) and is currently running Android 9 (Pie).

    PS4 controller not wokring android TV 9.0

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 09:11 AM PST

    Hi, I just got an android TV and it is a random Chinese model (Bqeel). I want to use it as a steam link. So I pair my PS4 controller, it is connected as an input device but when I press any buttons nothing happens. I downloaded some gamepad testers but the device is not even detected. And it does not work when I am directly plugged in by USB. I though since my controller is not an official it could be the problem, but it works using my phone running android 10.
    Does anyone had a similar problem? Is there an easy way to root an android TV since I could just install Sixaxis to fix this.

    LG V30 help, the phone keeps minimizing videos and hiding my keyboard like I'm pressing the back button even though I'm not touching the screen.

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 09:06 AM PST

    So I've had this V30 since it came out and I love it. For the past week or so, it's been minimizing videos and my keyboard automatically for some reason. Like it think I hit the back button on the bottom left. I can't watch Netflix or YouTube for more than a minute before the video minimizes to the corner of the screen, and I can't type a medium length paragraph without the keyboard minimizing. I've got the latest Android OS and security updates.

    Question on wiping the Android device

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 07:33 AM PST

    If my Android mobile is lost, does that mean who ever gets hold of it can wipe the phone and reuse the phone with their sim Card? I've set up lock screen password for my device. Any other additional step i can take so that the device becomes unusable for the person who stole it? I'm just worried about my data because the place i live had recently many phone thefts. Please let me know.

    Micro SD card always fails

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 06:16 AM PST

    I have 2 Android phones. Different manufacturers. I wanted to put media on them (vids etc) so I tried to put the micro SD cards in my PC for the transfer. I have 2 pcs

    I took one SD card out of one phone and put it in one PC, win 10. I used a Kingston USB adapter. I could see existing media on it but couldn't delete anything or copy anything to it. "Write protected". I didn't care about existing data so I put it back in the phone to format as "portable". I do this. I then put it back in PC. Get message saying I must format. I try to format using both win10 quick and slow options but I get same "write protect error".

    I go through tons of online tutorials explaining how to use checkdisk and disk part. No help. I even try some software options. No luck. I try for hours. No luck. I see SanDisk says this error can be due to corruption. So I give up. I assume I screwed the SD card up since it is kind of old and I throw it away.

    A week or two later I try again. Newish micro SD from a different Android phone and put it into a different win 10 PC. The exact same thing happens. I think I have killed another SD card. I've tried for hours again. No luck. I must be screwing something up here. This is getting expensive.

    Any advice?

    Firebase infinite scroll recycler view Load 10 items on Scrolling using firebase realtime database "Android Project"

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 02:03 AM PST

    I'm looking for a way to implement a simple list view scrolling in my Firebase app, but I am not getting any way out how to implement this. I have already tried 2-3 tutorials and documentation available on the Internet, but didn't the required result.

    In my app I want scrolling like at starting first 10 list items load then each time on scrolling next 10 or 20 items will load until the last item appears at the bottom of the list.

    So I tried retrieving first 10 items the following way :

    private void readsposts(){

    DatabaseReference reference = FirebaseDatabase.getInstance().getReference();

    reference.keepSynced(true);

    reference.child("Posts")

    .limitToLast(10)

    .addValueEventListener(new ValueEventListener() {

    u/Override

    public void onDataChange(DataSnapshot dataSnapshot) {

    postList.clear();

    for(DataSnapshot snapshot:dataSnapshot.getChildren()){

    Post post = snapshot.getValue(Post.class);

    for(String id:followingList){

    if(post.getPublisher()!=null && post.getPublisher().equals(id)){

    postList.add(post);

    }

    }

    if(post.getPublisher()!=null && post.getPublisher().equals(firebaseUser.getUid())){

    postList.add(post);

    }

    postAdapter.notifyDataSetChanged();

    }

    mProgressBar.setVisibility(RecyclerView.GONE);

    }

    u/Override public void onCancelled(DatabaseError databaseError) {

    mProgressBar.setVisibility(RecyclerView.GONE);

    }

    });

    }

    In the above code, as you can see I am generating Log to check if data is fetched from the firebase, but I got no output Android monitor.

    I have no idea how can I implement Firebase Scrolling in my Recycler view. I think this is a common problem for those who implement infinite-scroll in recycler view/ list view.

    Could you please help me implementing this feature. Thanks.
