| 4 Quick Tl;Dr Android Game Reviews / Recommendations (Episode 131) Posted: 22 Dec 2019 03:24 AM PST Merry Christmas, my fellow mobile gamers! This is 2019's last 4 quick recommendations of interesting mobile games I've played last week. This week, including an awesome indie roguelike dungeon crawler with a unique art-style, a rail shooter with a great monetization system, the biggest 3D MMORPG release of the year, and a casual strategy game with semi-idle gameplay. Disagree with my opinion? Let's have a friendly discussion below. New to these posts? Check out the first one from 131 weeks ago here. The games are "ranked" somewhat subjectively from best to worst, so take the ranking for what it is. Let's get to the games:Tiny Tomb: Dungeon Explorer [Game Size: 98 MB] (free)Genre: Roguelike / Adventure / Dungeon Crawler / Indie - Offline Playable Orientation: Portrait Required Attention: Full tl;dr review: Tiny Tomb is an awesome indie dungeon crawler roguelike adventure set in a unique, bright, isometric-perspective blocky universe. Throughout each level, we pickup gold, power-ups, and weapons, which help us progress through the dungeons and defeat the monsters blocking our path. There's a bit of a puzzle element to the gameplay as well, which I really enjoyed. The game monetizes through selling resurrection points to get an extra life when we die, and ads in-between levels, which can be removed through a single $3 iAP. Google Play: Here YouTube First Impressions / Review: Here SIERRA 7 [Game Size: 223 MB] (free)Genre: Shooter / Rail shooter / Indie - Offline Playable Orientation: Landscape Required Attention: Full tl;dr review: SIERRA 7 is a unique rail shooter that got its start as a Flash browser game and has now made its way to mobile. With weapon upgrades, lots of equipment, and different weapons, SIERRA 7 has plenty of content to explore, and the multiple game-modes add lots of hours of gameplay. The monetization is well-executed, with a 10-energy stamina system, which can be removed through a single $6 iAP. The premium version is worth buying if you enjoy the game. Google Play: Here YouTube First Impressions / Review: Here Black Desert Mobile [Total Game Size: 3.24 GB] (free)Genre: MMORPG / RPG / AAA - Requires Online Access Orientation: Landscape Required Attention: Some tl;dr review: Black Desert Mobile has been one of the most hyped 3D MMORPG releases of the year, and it's a fully-fledged MMORPG with everything you'd expect, and graphics that are more visually impressive than anything I've ever seen in a mobile MMORPG. The classes-based combat system feels great, with each ability really packing a punch, and the many gameplay features like quests, weapon enhancements, boss fights, PvP arenas etc. provide hundreds of hours of content to dive into. Due to the premium cash shop, paying players do have a pay-to-progress-faster advantage, but if you like these 3D mobile MMORPGs, this is still one of the best experiences within the genre. Google Play: Here YouTube First Impressions / Review: Here Art of War: Legions [Total Game Size: 159 MB] (free)Genre: Casual / Strategy - Offline Playable Orientation: Portrait Required Attention: Some/Little tl;dr review: Art of War: Legions is a simple singleplayer strategy RPG where we tactically deploy medieval-themed units on a field before we let them automatically attack our opponents. We buy more units with gold gained from winning matches, and once we get two of the same unit, we can chose to deploy them separately or merge them to create a higher-tier, stronger, version of the unit. The game's fun, but my main criticism is that it might be nearly too easy. For a casual strategy game, that might just be already though. The game monetizes through rewarded ads and a shop that sells new card packs - although I never felt a need to buy any of them. The game is already easy as a free player. | [REQUEST] What is the best Worms game for Android? Posted: 21 Dec 2019 05:17 PM PST Anyone remember Worms? I saw they had a few of them on the play store as was wondering which one is the best. I haven't played any of them in SUCH a long time. I think the last one I played was a 3D one I rented from Hollywood video and regretted ever since. Kind of ruined it for me. Which one is the best and are the really worth 5 bucks a pop? Many thanks. [link] [comments] | ||
