    Looking For a Box To Play Local Media

    I gave my Raspberry Pi 3 to my sister. So need something to replace it. I could get a Pi 4 but the board alone is £58 for the 4GB model. All it needs to do is play local media over the network/NAS and USB with Kodi ( for library managing) and support for demanding formats like x265.

    I'm looking at these android boxes on Amazon but 99% of them look like China crap with mixed reviews for various reasons.

    I'm only on a 1080p display for now. But to save buying twice ideally it needs to support 4k.

    The reason I was looking into android box instead of a Pi is the price and having to make your own power switch, or a plug with a switch on it, which isn't quite as ideal.

    Kogan android tv always fully powers off

    So my tv just got upgraded to android 8. Now everytime I press the power button, it says "Your tv will shut down. Ok or cancel". Where is the soft power off? I don't want to wait for 30-60 seconds everytime I turn on the tv.

    A Beautiful and High def UI like this is enough reason for me to Migrate from Google Play Movies to Apple TV. Seriously is Google doing anything to make Google Play Movies better in all ways for it's dedicated fans? Saddens me I already own this movie on Google. ����‍♂️

    Chinese Sony Bravia and Google Account

    Hello everyone, so one year ago I bought a Sony Tv Bravia in China. The TV has the Android TV OS and I also install a VPN on the TV so I can access apps like Netflix and Youtube on China. There is just one problem when I try to log in on my account on Youtube I can't, the app itself restarts every time I press the log in bottom. The VPN work fine because I can see videos on YouTube. The only problem is logging in, I saw that you need to go the TV setting and log in there but on my TV there is no option like that. I am thinking is because of the fact I buy the TV in China.

    Issue turning android tv on and off with Google assistant

    Hi i have a xiaomi tv with Android built in. I've connected it to my google home assistant so it works with commands but when I say "shut down TV" it says "OK turning TV off" and goes to a blank screen but can still hear it is still on (I waited for 3 min and I can still hear it's on) and if I press any button it goes back right to where I was. Then if the tv is off and I say "turn tv on" the google home says "turning TV on" but nothing happens. Do I have to enable something or a cheap way to do this Running android 8.1 Thanks

    Mi Box 3, Bad video quality

    Hi, I recently bought an Android TV Mi-Box 3 but I'm very disappointed with video quality. In fact the rendering is not smooth for instance, there are drag for fast movement (like tennis ball) and aliasing for straight lines.

    Do you know if there is any tips to improve video quality ?

    Have you seen the updated Play Store? Not only is it now harder to navigate and check for updates, but now it has stupid video ads playing in the background.

    Good controller for ATV?

    I got a Philips 49Pus8303/12 and want to get me some controllers, preferably PS4 as I might buy some for a friend who has that console. I'm thinking Ebay, Wish, Aliexpress or similar cheap stores. Any recommendations? If not PS4? Thanks.

    EDIT: I want a cheap clone, not the original as they are overpriced. That is why I mentioned Wish and Aliexpress. Sorry for the confusion.

    Why do I have red light on back side of mi box?

    Have original mi box.

    There is always a red light shining from the backside of the unit even when pwer is off.

    Can you advise please?
