What's the stupidest, most needless, asinine, excessive, silly thing you could build with 80 Android 7 tablets?

Last year me and two other people launched a little business venture based around a mobile application. With time running tight, it wasn't feasible to cover iOS, so we just bought a ton of cheap tablets off of alibaba and gave them to the users for a few months.

We had a lot of fun seeing our ideas come to life and by the time the dust settled, we had all grown a little older and wiser. We got a passable iOS version running, and eventually went on to proper jobs and agreed we could pick the project back up when we get our second wind of entrepreneurial spirit.

Anyway, that's not the point. The point is I've got a box with 80 unsellable Android 7 tablets.

From what I can see, wifi p2p was introduced in API level 14, and these are all API level 24, so they could be linked up with broadcast receivers.

So what do you think? Worst smart-home solution ever? A giant wall with Conway's game of life playing across 80 cells? Beverage coasters? Hockey pucks? All ideas welcome.

    Google is Killing our business.

    Posted: 11 Jun 2022 01:03 AM PDT

We are a taxi app, that connects drivers to riders just like Uber, we have a problem, our competitors are larger than us, they were operating years before us, so they have most of the market share, and most of the taxi drivers work with them, also there is no law that says drivers cannot use multiple apps to get more riders but the company is using an illegal way to kill our business.

Here is what they do, they use this permission on their app "QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES" to find the apps installed on the driver's phone then they punish the driver by disabling their account, so what can we do to resolve this problem, also we can not contact the government as they will not do anything, so can we contact google and make them remove that permission from their app.

    Please help if you can.

    Advanced custom lint checks

    Posted: 11 Jun 2022 08:30 AM PDT

Is there any good reference or documentation that can be used to write more advanced lint checks?

And by advanced I mean more complex examples than those presented on the official website, Dev summit, etc.

    Selling an app!

    Posted: 10 Jun 2022 01:10 PM PDT

How much do apps sell for? Let's say I have an app that has 50 k daily active users but is free and does not generate any revenue. Would it sell? What if it has 10 k daily active users but it made some revenue? Or any links where I could learn about this would be helpful! Thanks.

    I want to convert a arm-v8 app to armeabi-v7a

    Posted: 10 Jun 2022 10:43 PM PDT

So I want to convert a app that is for arm-v8 to armeabi-v7a

I copied gbdserver, libc++_shared.so, libfmod.so from the apk made for armeabi-v7a and pasted those 3 files in lib folder of arm-v8 apk (removed these 3 files and checked that they have same name)

    But it is not working

Don't ask me why I am trying to download arm-v8 app when armeabi-v7a already exist. I am doing because arm-v8 app has more features.

Is replying to reviews broken from the app?

    Posted: 10 Jun 2022 09:30 PM PDT

I reply to reviews every night from the phone app but it feels broken. The last two days I've gotten a lot of errors but just on some reviews. Tonight I got it on pretty much every review. Replying from the website is working fine.

    Anyone else with this issue?

Payment Profile was empty and no clue where the payout went

    Posted: 10 Jun 2022 02:09 PM PDT

Google said my last payment was issued on June 1 but I now realize that I did not have a bank account or other payment method linked to the account. I just verified my bank today on Jun 10 but no clue where the previous payment went.

Is there a way to look at the detailed history of a payout so I can see where it went? Any clue of where the payment goes if there is no payment method?

    Thanks in advance.

    DOUBT

    Posted: 10 Jun 2022 06:51 PM PDT

I have created an android library and uploaded in jitpack, but while implementing it in one of my older project, its showing lots of versions conflict. I manage to force implement many versions but now it's showing conflict for kotlin. When I am trying to reduce kotlin version in my Library, it's showing me gradle doesn't support that version. When I am trying to reduce gradle version, it's showing min gradle version is something else. So is there any proper way of solving these versions conflicts while using libraries?
