    I know it might be a heated topic here, but due to my less time for gaming, I want your recommendations.

    I'm from the EU, but open to creating a new Google acc to another region - I'm on a fence for Mu Archangel, but as I heard the ping is bad from the SEA server. (That's the only location where MU:A is available.)

    Single/Multiplayer: Multiplayer

    Genre: MMO

    Online/Offline: Online

    Monetization/Cost: Free. I don't mind a monthly 10-15€ passes if the game is good and the pass is worthy.

    Looking for a puzzle game I used to play a lot.

    The game was played on a grid that had number scattered on it. The goal of the puzzle was to build groups of squares so that each number had that many squares grouped around it. The goal was to fill up the entire board.

    There were a bunch of different versions of this puzzle, but i can't find any of them. I'm looking for one in particular that had two iaps to unlock some really hard puzzles.

    It was an actual good game in the forest of poop that is the current play store. The game deserved better. And what's up with the other one, "tanks a lot". It is literally dank tanks with a plastic surgery or something. And it's bloated with ads.

    With my main Gacha, Dragalia Lost, sadly reaching its story conclusion and shutting down in July, I am now searching for another (if possible very similar) game.

    Needs to be vertical (portrait mode), no Retro / 8Bit, no Idle clicker, not one of those hyper sexualized Korean looking games like League of Angels and the like, if possible "handdrawn" (not necessarily anime, but looking either drawn or 3d animated like it was drawn) visuals and not AFK arena.

    Help me find a game plz!

    Hi.

    I've been trying to find a game I played once but forgot the name of. Please help me find it!

    I played it on Newgrounds, it was 2D, pixeled art, with an 8bit vibe to it but modern in style, sound and color. It was a side scroller. The design of the characters is very simplistic (sticks for legs and tiny sprites on a wide background).

    The game revolves around a black character, who is a sort of paranormal investigator for like an agency of sorts (?). It begins with him arriving on an open field, in the night, nearby a building or mansion of sorts.

    The game doesn't give you a lot of exposition, but you can deduce some of the lore trough the interactions, but it's very cryptic. The MC is on the track of some sort of cult that is trying to bring upon a cataclysmic event.

    The setup is very Lovecraftian, and it's very short, and I remember that by the end of the game some sort of end of the world event comes upon earth and some giant black tentacles or tendrils engulf the background.

    The name of the game if I remember correctly was a single word, it was a weird, probably made-up, but I recall it had a ring to it that reminds me of words like "onomatopoeia"...I tried searching for it many times but couldn't make it

    Any help is welcome! This has been on my mind for a while now.

    It was a 3D zombie game with wiew form above. There were lots of guns and some kind of buffs or something like that you could collect on the map as you played. You could also dual-wield these weapons. There were some characters you could choose from to play as, I can't remember more about them. At the end of each level there was a boss I think, there were bosses like zombie Santa, grim reaper, zombie grizzly bear with a chainsaw or something like that and zombie yeti. On the edge of the map there was some kind of merchant. I can remember two maps- the first one with some trees and a lake, second one was a snow map, there was a fallen helicopter somewhere on it.

    Looking for a fun multiplayer/co-op experience.

    We're staying at a friend's over the weekend, and my Mate and I want to start a new game together that we can play side by side. We're okay with either co-op or multiplayer elements.

    We would like the option for FTP as we only have one rule that we won't be spending money over the weekend.

    The only thing is, said friend has RSI so we can't have an on-screen joystick. Which unfortunately leaves Rocket League out of the question (This was our go to last time, and we probably would have spent the weekend playing this if my friends thumb was destroyed by the end of it).

    Any suggestions would be great, we're not to concerned about genre, as long as it has a steady, not to grindy progression

    VVVVVV is a 2D open-world precision platformer by the developer of Super Hexagon in which we control spaceship Captain Viridian on his journey to rescue his crewmen.

    Unlike most platformers, however, there is no jumping mechanic in VVVVVV, forcing us instead to reverse the direction of gravity to get around. Although this sounds simple, the gameplay is super challenging to say the least, and the game does a great job at keeping us engaged through the split-second reactions required to finish most rooms, and the new elements introduced as we progress.

    Thankfully, the game isn't unfairly punishing as there are lots of checkpoints along the way, and the core gameplay loop is fast. There is even support for player-created rooms, which guarantees lots of replayability.

    The game features multiple straightforward touch control options, some of which are more responsive than others. Thankfully, the standard controls work very well, it's easy to switch between the different options, and there's also controller support.

    The simplicity of VVVVVV 's gameplay is also reflected in its graphics that resemble the 8-bit pixel art of the Commodore 64 in both fidelity and style. Just like many games from that era, the world map consists of multiple rooms with minimalistic yet charming environments that still clearly communicate what to avoid.

    VVVVVV costs 2.49$, with no ads or iAPs. Overall, it's an easy recommendation for those who like challenging platformers with a solid gameplay loop and simple graphics.

    Neon Beats [Total Game Size: 122 MB] (Free)

    Genre: Rhythm / Platformer / Neon-style - Offline Playable

    Orientation: Landscape

    Neon Beats is a fast-paced 2D platformer with a clean neon art-style and a unique rhythm-based gameplay experience.

    Controlling a small square character by jumping and moving it left and right, our goal is to avoid the many obstacles and occasional objects chasing us to complete each level as fast as possible with as few deaths as possible – all while gathering the music nodes hidden in each level.

    Accompanying these levels is a set of unique tunes, which is where the rhythm aspect comes in. Because every platform element that moves around or appears and disappears does so to the rhythm of the music instead of at fixed intervals. This makes the gameplay experience highly immersive and creates a certain flow and momentum to the way we maneuver our way through the neatly designed levels.

    The controls are tight and responsive, and although the game is rather difficult, we simply respawn at the latest invisible checkpoint if we die, ensuring that the game doesn't feel punishing.

    The first level is very simple, but the pace and difficulty quickly picks up and we start to truly get into "the zone" as we seamlessly flow across the platforms. This is where the game really shines.

    But then, unfortunately, it all abruptly ends. The biggest downside of Neon Beats is that there are only three levels on Android, and eight on iOS. After they've been completed, the only other objective is to finish them faster and with fewer deaths, which is definitely challenging but also something many players most likely won't attempt.

    Neon Beats is completely free on Android, with no ads or iAPs. Despite its short length, the polished and fun gameplay experience makes it worth checking out for any fan of challenging platformers.

    Shattered Plane [Game Size: 116 MB] ($4.99)

    Genre: Strategy / Casual / Turn-based - Online + Offline Playable

    Orientation: Landscape

    Shattered Plane is a fast-paced turn-based tactical strategy game heavily focused on troop movement and positioning, set in a world inspired by Slavic mythology.

    Each battle map consists of a hexagonal grid with capital cities for each rival faction and several smaller cities scattered across the field. Cities we control generate a certain number of troops each turn, and our goal is to move these around the map to capture other cities and battle enemy forces.

    When two opposing squads collide, the number of troops in each team is the only factor determining who wins, which means we must carefully position our units to prevent enemies from outmaneuvering or overpowering us.

    This seemingly simple gameplay mechanic is complemented by additional features such as a morale system that significantly affects our units' prowess in battle, special skills each faction can use to quickly turn the odds in their favor, and a limit to the number of moves we can make each turn, which requires us to be extra thoughtful. It is especially important to take all these systems into account on larger maps with multiple opponents where a lot goes on at the same time.

    Shattered Plane is a $4.99 premium game without ads or iAPs that often goes on sale for $0.99. With a story-driven single-player campaign, random skirmishes, online ranked battles, and a hot-seat multiplayer mode, the game provides a ton of replayability and enough entertainment for anyone fond of these "easy to learn - hard to master" type of strategy games.

    A Dark Room [Game Size: 48 MB] ($1.99)

    Genre: RPG / Text-based - Offline Playable

    A Dark Room is an incremental RPG where we take on the role of a nameless person who wakes up in the middle of nowhere with nothing but a voice in her head telling her to survive.

    The early part of the game has us simply gather wood, fur, and other resources so that we can develop our village. Soon, however, things get much more interesting, as the game turns into a true RPG adventure that consists of exploring randomly generated post-apocalyptic worlds to discover wonders and fight dangerous monsters.

    As a purely text-based adventure that uses ASCII art to convey information, we initiate actions and interact with the game world through simple buttons, while a text log helps us keep track of what's going on. The only major criticism I have of A Dark Room is that during some runs, the gameplay pace can be slightly negatively impacted by the randomly generated map.

    There isn't much that can be said about the art-style aside from the fact that its minimalism provides us the freedom to use our imagination to create the world. The UI is similarly clean and all text is easily readable.

    A Dark Room is a $1.99 premium with no iAPs or ads. It is a fun and unique RPG adventure experience with great world-building, which makes it an easy recommendation for those who like text-based RPGs.

    Vandals [Game Size: 313 MB] ($5.49)

    Genre: Puzzle / Strategy - Offline Playable

    Vandals is a graffiti-themed strategy puzzle game similar to Hitman GO, except we play as street artists in various cities and time periods, trying to spray buildings without being caught by the police.

    The game is turn-based and plays out on a gridded playing field. We can move our character one space at a time, and our enemies range from hyper-alert dogs and police with searchlights, to those sleeping on the job.

    Our objective is to get to each level's designated spot to do our art, and then get away without being caught. The puzzles are well designed, with even the trickier levels still not feeling frustrating or impossible. Apart from simply moving around, we can blow a whistle to distract guards, and learn to use other methods to avoid detection as we progress.

    The most fun part of each mission is when we get to create our own tag or artwork to spray on the wall. With an accessible interface not unlike MS Paint, it's entirely up to us whether we want to draw a simple shape or something highly detailed. This opportunity for creativity is great, allowing us to personalize our experience.

    The game's art-style is adequate but not extraordinary, and it's especially disappointing that each city looks practically identical. For example, Paris 1969 is virtually indistinguishable from Berlin 1984, which feels like a wasted opportunity to liven things up. Similarly, new enemies and game mechanics are introduced at a much slower pace than in Hitman GO, making the game feel more repetitive.

    Vandals is a premium game without ads or iAPs that costs $5.49. It's certainly an entertaining game, and although it doesn't quite have enough variety to be addictive, it remains both challenging and fun.

    An in-depth review of Pureya, a casual premium game in the style of WarioWare

    I just stumbled across this game on the play store and I think it's my new once-in-a-blue-moon game that's going to stay on my phone for a very long time.

    To preface, I'm aspiring to get involved in game design and management. I'm still fairly young (in the latter stages of high school) so of course my passions are subject to change, but I'm very intrigued by what makes a game fun. There are tons of different avenues for this, but the conclusion I've come to is that polish, especially regarding ease of play and fluidity, is probably the most important part of a game to me.

    Anyways, I've always thought that a Wario Ware styled game would be perfect for mobile. For those unaware, Wario Ware games are made up of tons of "microgames" that last only around five seconds. The more you successfully complete in succession, the faster it gets. I feel like one strength of the mobile platform is the ease of jumping in and jumping out of a game, so this formula is pretty perfect for this device.

    Enter Pureya, which was the result of my tireless searching for a game like this on mobile! Pureya has over 30 minigames that you slowly unlock over the course of gameplay. The game is an entirely uninterrupted loop of ten minigames and a pachinko game where you spend all the marbles you got during the previous ten games. It's an extraordinarily polished experience and is listed for $7, but it's also on the Google play pass.

    Each of the minigames are surprisingly very well thought out and replayable. They are all simple, utilizing only two buttons on the bottom of the screen, yet they have quite a bit of room for mastery. After playing a good bit each day for a week now, I still feel like I have a lot to learn with each one.

    I use the term minigame instead of microgame here because the fundamental design of these games are a little different than the Wario Ware ones. In Wario Ware, the purpose of them is to make a few split second decisions in hopes of completing the required task before the timer runs out. If you do, you move on to the next game without losing a life. In Pureya, though, each game has a fixed timer of ten seconds, and the main goal is to collect the marbles that show up in various ways depending on the game. "Losing" these mini games is a very common affair, but the game doesn't have any sort life system. Rather, when your character dies by falling off of platforms or getting hit by asteroids, the game respawns you after 1-2 seconds to get back into the action. The natural consequence here is missing some marbles you potentially could have gotten if you weren't too risky / unaware with your actions. The games are also super polished here, with little satisfying interactions here and there with button presses etc.

    Each minigame is fairly varied, as well, which is a pleasant surprise given how simple the controls are. All the games take place on the top half of the screen, and what occupies the bottom is a pair of simple left and right buttons. Naturally, games that are platforming based use these as buttons as left and right movement, but you'd be surprised at how many other uses they have. Also, even within the various platformers, there are distinct ways in which your character moves. For example, in the game where you move a penguin along a continuously side scrolling series of platforms, the penguin always jumps forward when you press the right button but moves backwards normally with the left button. There's also another game reminiscent of doodle jump, where your character (a goat this time) is continuously jumping upwards and you have to position it to land on various small platforms as the screen scrolls upwards. That's just the tip of the iceburg, though, as there's a bunch of games that aren't platformers but instead use the buttons for very different mechanics. I won't go any further with those though because this is already getting very long lol

    Like Wario Ware, there's also a speed up mechanic at work here, but it works a little differently. There's a hidden tally for each time you die, and if it passes a certain amount the screen will briefly flash an animation that signifies a lowering of the speed. The less you die, though, the game might shift to be even faster. What's interesting is that these changes reflect solely in gameplay speed, not game length. Therefore, if the game shifts you to the highest speed setting, you have a higher chance to get more marbles at the price of a higher chance of dying. If you're shifted to the lowest, the games move more slowly so you naturally get less marbles but also have more time to get your bearings and not die often. Therefore, this system is ingenious in how it keeps varying the speeds based on your performance, but doesn't give a crazy anxiety factor of permanently losing your streak-- once you get shifted down to lower speed, if you're careful enough you can easily get back to speedy mode in little time.

    The minigames come in sets of ten randomized ones, and then the game immediately shifts to pachinko mode! Here, there's a simple pachinko machine where you can launch all the marbles you got from the previous ten games. It's a fairly simple system with perhaps too little variation in marble launching speeds, but it's still very fun to see all your work go into getting more stuff. Each time you get enough marbles to hit a target, a roullete spins which tells you how many items you get. This is a small detail, but I absolutely love what the creator did with this. Rarely, one of the numbers won't match another, and so there's a little animation of the next number (which always matches the other two numbers) trying to push the different number down. It gets even more fun when it goes into a whole ridiculous and flashy special animation where the numbers are anthromorphisized (is that how you spell it?) and duke it out in random situations.

    Anyways! Once the numbers line up, you get that many capsules. Each capsule either contains a cosmetic for a specific minigame or a piece of a new minigame. It takes four pieces to unlock a minigame, and thankfully whenever you get a new piece it always goes towards the next game you haven't unlocked. For example, I'll only get pieces for unlockable game A before I get any new pieces for unlockable game B. For the cosmetics, there's a metric ton of them and you can toggle which ones you want to see in game or just have it all randomized with the ones you have unlocked so far. You can get duplicates, however, which might be a little annoying for some, but I unashamedly don't mind as it just keeps the sense of rewards going for a long time.

    Finally, I just want to touch on how fluid the game is. It is literally entirely uninterrupted the whole time unless you go out of your way to access your collection or other small things. As soon as you complete ten games, it moves straight to the pachinko game, and as soon as you complete that it moves you right back to the games. There's absolutely zero extraneous buttons and plus signs in any corner of the screen-- in fact, there's no icon to access the main menu, instead you just tap the top portion of the screen. There's also an interesting UI decision to have absolutely no text at all, only icons. It can be a little frustrating for some, given some of the reviews I've seen, but I don't mind at all and I quickly grew accustomed to what icon meant what.

    And that's pretty much it! I'm glad to have found this little game and I'm going to be enjoying it for a very long time given how many collectibles there are. I'm a long time fan of Wario Ware and despite the much lower production value, there's some things I think Pureya actually does better than it, at least from the standpoint of a mobile game.     There's this game I stumbled upon in the play store called SHADOWGUN LEGENDS and I like it.

    It's a first person shooter with many things to do:

    Play main/side missions.

    Play wargames which has multiple gamemodes.

    You can buy guns and equipment or get them in missions.

    You can also play co op so if you have a hard time with a mission.

    Overall a very good game and I recommend you play.

    Cooperative game for me and my gf?

    We are looking for only cooperative games, competitive games she doesn't like because she thinks I don't love her more if I attacked her xd

    We have tried shooting or racing games, but they are not our thing to play on mobile.
