If I "turn off" my TV for several hours (I have quick start enabled, so it isn't fully powered off), it will usually turn on with wifi still connected but no internet. I can avoid this by disabling quick start so that my TV fully turns off or (usually) fix it by disabling wifi and reconnecting after a few seconds, but both of these are annoying and making me consider returning the TV.

Has anyone run into this / have any ideas for fixing? I was thinking about looking into setting up an app to auto-reset wifi, but I am trying to avoid that for now.

    Miscellaneous detailed information:

    1. TV is new and exhibited this behavior out of the box.
    2. TV is 43" TCL 4-series with Google.
    3. Checked router time / TV time and they are correct.
    4. Assistant and all apps except Netflix do not work. The network settings show "Connected, no internet". "Check internet connection" in the network settings will quickly say "router connection successful" but will spin endlessly trying to connect to the internet. But again, the internet connection is instantly resolved by resetting the wifi.
    5. I have no idea why Netflix only works. Makes me suspicious of a DNS issue, but I'm pretty ignorant so mostly a shot in the dark.
    6. It seems like the longer the TV is off, the more likely the issue is to occur. Usually occurs only after 6+ hours off. Turning the TV on after leaving it off overnight is the most common case of me seeing the issue.
    7. The TV will not resolve the no internet by itself even if left for a long time. I also considered a solution of setting up a second wifi network just so that it switches back and forth when the internet breaks, but again, would prefer to avoid.

My alternative way to sideload APKs

    Posted: 23 Feb 2022 12:33 AM PST

I used to download from my phone then SEND FILES TO TV. Later I learnt to use the downloader app on TV itself but it was complicated. Next step was to install the APK via another file explorer app.

Nowadays, I just use my favourite TV BRO(wser) to directly download an APK from any website then I install the apk using the official APKMirror Installer app.( which is also available from official Android TV playstore).

My built-in Sony browser sucks, then I discovered Puffin Browser but It didn't support downloading. Ii tried TV Bro after seeing recommendations and it's been the best so far.
