Android TV Guide won't go down

Android TV Guide won't go down

    Guide won't go down

    Posted: 22 Nov 2021 04:54 PM PST

Don't Bravia Android TV. When I try to scroll through the channels on the guide it'll get to the last channel on the screen but it will not scroll past that point. It'll go up indefinitely but as soon as I try to go down the guide it always stops at the bottom channel and won't go any further.

Weird. Anyone else have this issue?

    Onn TV 4K Box

    Posted: 22 Nov 2021 08:08 AM PST

So.. weird problem and even weirder solution.

I have the Onn 4k Box on my TV downstairs. I have it wired up to ethernet and it has been fantastic for a little $20 box. Anywho... turn the TV on today for background noise as I work. No sound.

    • Check the sound bar and it's on.
    • Try the Xbox and sound works. Weird.
    • Reboot the Onn. Nothing.
    • Unplug and plug back in. Nothing.
    • Check the HDMI cables. Nothing.
    • Unplug/Plug TV. Nothing.
    • Unplug/Plug the Soundbar. Nothing
    • At this point, starting to think the little guy has died. Start poking around in the settings, Sounds? Nope.
    • For some reason I decided to check the HDMI CEC settings. Looks ok, but what the heck, I'll toggle the CEC Switch off then back on. Boom. Sound works. Crazy!

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    Disney+ 4k not available

    Posted: 22 Nov 2021 10:11 AM PST

Seems like there are issues with primarily Sony TVs that 4k & Dolby Vision are not currently working. It is only streaming in HD through the app. My a80J it stopped this past Friday (Nov 19) so not related to most recent update on Nov 1.

Just curious if other AndroidTV/Google TV users are seeing the same thing. Particularly wondering if any non Sony TV users are seeing the issue and what device being used.

Google remote - powering TV and soundbar

    Posted: 22 Nov 2021 10:47 AM PST

I am loving the google tv remote.
But it looks lke I am trying to do something that's not meant to be, weirdly enough to me.

    - I can set up to turn on/off the TV from the google remote
    - I can set up to turn on/off the soundbar from the google remote BUT then I lose doing so with the TV (and vice-versa)

Is there a way so that I can power on/off both TV and soundbar from the google remote?

    Cheers

Use GoogleTV app as a remote on Chromecast w/ Google TV

    Posted: 22 Nov 2021 06:35 PM PST

I am new to this Chromecast with Google TV and I have a hard time entering all my passwords with the little remote. I read you can use the Google TV App on your phone to use as a remote, well I downloaded the app and connected it to my Chromecast and it works for things like swiping and clicking etc.. But the keyboard does not work. The screen on my phone says to type and I should see the results on my TV but mine does not work, I can control everything else with my phone but the keyboard doesn't work. I have a samsung galaxy 8+ with the stock keyboard, am I doing something wrong?

Any TVs that can boot to app screen every time it is powered on?

    Posted: 22 Nov 2021 09:06 AM PST

Hey everyone, I'm looking for a television that can boot directly into a dummy-proof app screen where the viewer can pick from youtube tv, Netflix, etc.

I want to use this at a vacation rental and have to plan for the least tech savvy users. I think the samsung and LG ribbons might be too confusing for certain users, so ideally the tv would boot to the Home Screen and just let people pick an app to watch content without going through different inputs.

I think the Hisense tv might do this, but it was hard to confirm at Best Buy since their tvs are all in demo mode and they dont have the native remotes handy. Looking for a cheaper line of TVs, but somewhat flexible on price for a good fit. Thanks!

    Audio cutting out between dialogue

    Posted: 22 Nov 2021 06:43 AM PST

Not sure if the is the right sub. Have an Android Polaroid 4K TV and when a show/movie is quiet and there's only dialogue, the tv cuts out the audio completely between sentences etc. Is there a way to fix this?

Android TV. HELP (ONLY FAT32 NO NTFS)

    Posted: 22 Nov 2021 09:05 AM PST

Hello all! Today I bought smart android tv (idk if I can say the brand. Sorry if Im not supposed to say it) The TV is Philips 7900 series. I thought that I can watch my 4k movies just by putting in a flash drive. But it didnt work... For the next 3 hours I was searching in the internet what is the problem. I found out that the TV only accepts fax32 flash drives. I was like ok lets change it. But then I found that I can upload only up to 4GB of file. Can someone tell me what to do? I want to watch 4K on this 4K TV, but I have no idea how to add the movie to detect it. Every comment helps! :)

How do I remove these pre-installed tv apps? I'm not using them, I've disabled them and their services and yet they still re-appear.
