    Can't host a Twitter space

    Posted: 12 Sep 2021 12:27 PM PDT

Hello everyone. I'm in France and I noticed that I can't start a Twitter space using my Samsung phone (Twitter app is up to date).

A friend of mine could start one, but he's in Ireland (also a Samsung user). Another friend in France can start a space, but they have an iPhone.

I could also join a space, just not create one.

Is this still region locked for android devices? Have you guys had this problem as well? Thanks.

Can I play media on Galaxy 21 Ultra with a USB-C to storage device adapter?

    Posted: 12 Sep 2021 12:05 PM PDT

I have an S21 and was disappointed with the lack of sd card support. I saw a video showing that I could transfer large batches of photos to a flash drive using a usb-c to usb/flash adapter.

Could I also use a similar adapter to play media from say an external hard drive? Like if I had an MP4 on the drive, could I play it on my phone using the My Files app and opening in Video Player, similar to a laptop?

Really appreciate any input. Thanks in advance for any help.

my phone randomly takes pictures of me?

    Posted: 12 Sep 2021 12:02 PM PDT

So I have a samsung galaxy s21 ultra that I got about a month or so ago, I'm pretty busy with school and my job so I end up doing my makeup in the car fairly often. I use my phone camera like a mirror to check my reflection and such, but I noticed that sometimes it just randomly takes pics of me while I have the camera app open facing myself, not touching the screen or anything. I'm a little creeped out and don't really understand why it's doing this or how to turn it off... help?

Pixel 3a new bug - all home screen icons disappear and can't access application tray until I restart.

    Posted: 12 Sep 2021 10:58 AM PDT

No idea how to replicate it but it has happened 4 times now in the past few days. All of the icons will suddenly disappear and the application tray you get to by swiping up goes away. I can still pull down the notification bar and access anything that is there but that is it. Can't open anything new. Holding down power button and restarting fixes it until it happens again.

    Ideas?

(I hope you can understand)

    Audio in through USB-C?

    Posted: 12 Sep 2021 10:44 AM PDT

    Hi guys.

I am getting a bit tired of always having to power on my desktop just to record some audio in good quality (not just through the mic), so I was hoping someone here had some experience with audio in through a 3.5mm to USB-C connector.

Any apps or insight into if it is even possible

    Cannot access data

    Posted: 12 Sep 2021 09:38 AM PDT

Stop me if you've heard this one before, but I bought a new phone and cannot access my wireless data.

I upgraded from an old galaxy 8 into a galaxy note 10+, I'm on total wireless, which uses Verizon towers, which puts me on CDMA. I purchased a phone that claims to be unlocked to GSM and CDMA. I can make calls just fine, it connects to wifi, but I cannot figure out why it can't access data.

My only hint so far is it displays "Preferred System" in the top left. I've tried the easy stuff, like airplane mode and making sure I actually still have data.

    Please help me internet.

Please help me out. Android loses my music app's song and position when bluetooth is lost. Every time

    Posted: 11 Sep 2021 09:17 PM PDT

I do deliveries in my car, so when I step out the Bluetooth disconnects many times because I go far. Not a single app remembers what song was playing when I come back and when Bluetooth connects again. What gives. Even paid apps like Amazon music, Apple music. They all forget the song, and the notification controls disappear, even when I open the app they lost it.

Edit: it happens in both 9 and 10 versions

    Poco F3 vs. A52S?

    Posted: 12 Sep 2021 08:59 AM PDT

    Hi, everyone!

I'm looking to buy myself a new phone, and from searching around the net, I think the Poco F3 and Galaxy A52S are my best choices.

I am however, in a bit of a dilemma because I'm not sure which of these two phones should I take. All that I care about in a new phone is that it has a good battery that can last at least a day before needing to be recharged, and a phone that can be used for as long as possible before I have to buy a new one. Hardware is not so much important to me because both phones have great specs that are overkill for my use cases.

Speaking of which, my usage on the phone is pretty casual. Aside from the couple of calls I make and the texts I send, I mostly spend my time web browsing and watching YouTube videos. I don't play video games, or do any camera work, so any advantage each phone has in these areas can be ignored.

As far as I can see, the F3 has superior CPU, GPU and two more gigabytes of RAM, but with a buggier OS, whereas A52s has more software updates, better IP rating, and a bit more stable OS.

Nonetheless, I really don't know which of these two would be better for me to take, seeing how both of them have great batteries, the only thing left is that in terms of futureproofing, does F3 having a stronger CPU and additional memory have an advantage, or is the A52S better because of the more support it gets?

Can't boot TWRP, phone just reboots instead

    Posted: 12 Sep 2021 05:04 AM PDT

Hi all, I have a bit of a weird one. Basically my Moto Z2 Play has stopped being able to boot into TWRP. If I tell it to reboot to recovery, or use the volume down menu and select recovery, I just get the TWRP splash screen for a few seconds, and then the device reboots.

The weird thing is nothing has changed since last week, when it worked fine (I know that because I did a TWRP backup before flashing my ROM's weekly update).

Tried reflashing TWRP, and also booting the image directly, to no avail.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can try to get this sorted?

Recover (supposed) deleted text messages sent from an iphone to an Android phone

    Posted: 12 Sep 2021 04:53 AM PDT

Someone said that it was possible to delete messages on an iphone and make them disappear on the other device.

I'm in a soon to be legal battle with my ex and i suspect she has deleted some messages. I was looking for some of them on my phone that I know she has sent me, but they were nowhere to be found.

So I was wondering if someone has a solution for this. Is there anyway to recover old data and old texts?

Is there any way to change the download location of TikTok or for that matter, the camera app?

    Posted: 12 Sep 2021 08:32 AM PDT

I haven't found a solution yet having scoured threads made about this in the past do I may have to communicate this to the company myself and see what happens if not.

Ideally, One of these two "apps" would save to a different location as I have Google Photos backing up photos/videos from the camera and this happens to be the same folder tiktok stores videos in by default.

    Motorola G8 Power New User

    Posted: 12 Sep 2021 08:16 AM PDT

I'm asking this for my sister who bought a second hand Motorola G8 Power, she wants to install the phone as her own, but even after a soft AND a hard reset to factory settings the phone keeps asking for the old user account settings, she tried to message to old user where she bought it from but that person is not responding, so the question is how to remove the old user account settings, so that she can set up her own? Because atm it's useless since she doesn't have the old user information

My phone (Samsung G s8) started reading notifications aloud to me. Can't find anywhere to make it stop.

    Posted: 12 Sep 2021 08:09 AM PDT

Notifications such as What'sApp or Calendar events are literally read aloud by what sounds like the Google voice assistant. It's driving me so nuts. I've looked in settings / notifications. I poked around in the "OK Google" Google assistant and didn't see anything. I also looked in accessibility settings. These two notifications (what'sapp / calendar) do appear as pop-up bubble notifications, Mayne it has something to do with that?

Recover data (contacts) from P9 Lite with broken touchscreen

    Posted: 12 Sep 2021 07:24 AM PDT

My dad Huawei P9 Lite touchscreen stopped working after 4 years of service. Everything else still seems to work including the side buttons.

Sadly he didn't link his contact to his Google account so it would be great to find a solution to get them out of the phone. Luckily he saved pictures in a microSD so that's not an issue.

I am 99% sure he didn't enable USB debugging so I can't use the basic recovery programs to do it. I am gonna try with a USB mouse tomorrow but I am afraid it won't work with the P9 Lite.

Is there anything else I could try to do?

In need of some help around Android EMM + zero-touch config

    Posted: 12 Sep 2021 04:46 AM PDT

    Hey guys,

After some help and hoping this community has some experience in this.

I'm currently working through some mobile device management configuration in an effort to work towards a zero-touch enrolment for a mobile fleet of Android devices running an Android app we're currently developing, I'd appreciate if anyone can assist here.

The link here asks to browse to Android Settings, but it is not visible in the menu described, do you have any suggestions as to why?

Ideally the desired state configuration would be to have one Gsuite/Workspace account that all devices in the mobile fleet would initially sign on with, and then as a result I would imagine adopt a zero touch configuration that would push the required app to the device, remove any bloat, manage auto-updating, auto-load our app, and prevent the app from being closed. If there's options for remote control/screen view, that would be amazing too.

Our devices in the fleet will be installed in a customer environment with our app functioning during business hours, I would very much like the client to have little to no maintenance requirements or interaction with the device configuration/administration outside our apps interface.

Would really appreciate any and all suggestions to both the first issue around Android settings and some things that could point me in the right direction to the desired zero-touch enrolment.

    Cheers!
