Left side of phone is quite hot and the battery is draining fast. I've had it for over 3 year. I've had stuff like this happen before but either a restart or force closing some apps fixed it. Nothing seems to be fixing it now. Any idea other than a factory reset? [link] [comments] |

I've trying to find a good full coverage screen protector for my phone, but none seem to work well. They all leave the screen looking kinda dirty, full of tiny speckles that are specially noticeable on whites. I've had this problem with mate ceramics (plastic), bright (transparent) ceramics and even a tempered glass one. I've beginning to think the problem might actually be in the glue used to stick the protector to the screen. Also, I know this is not a property of the screen, since it only happens when it has a third party protector installed. Any advice? [link] [comments] |

My device is rooted with Magisk, maybe there's a magisk module for the purpose. The app detects that I have already used a promo on my device even after changing the firmware os. Im facing a strange thing with my 256GB Samsung Evo Select SD Card, Its write speed for moving files was around 50mb/s when i got it, Recently, I chose the storage location as "SD Card" in camera settings, so that most of the videos/photos i take usually get saved on the sd card directly. I noticed that the write speed of the card kept decreasing the more videos and photos i take, and videos/photos sometimes take a second or two to get saved after i take them. I took the sd card out and formatted it, i didn't know what was causing it at the time, but it being back to normal speeds after formatting i think means the issue could be not related to the card. Decided to stick with save to internal storage option in camera settings for the time being, however once again i recently changed it back to "save to sd card" and the issue is starting to come back once again. Any ideas what's causing this or if this is a normal thing? [link] [comments] |

But I HATE the fact that when I start my phone or reboot it, Pocket Casts (in the guise of Media Panel?), appears in my swipe down menu. image I don't use this app and/or any audio application often enough for this to be useful to me and would really like to disable this option. I've searched, tried suggestions from the A52 sub (some hopeful but not successful) and from the Pocket Cases sub (less so...) - all to no avail. I'd like to be able to have a different setup/profiles based on my situation/role. So, different home screens, different people allowed to contact, different apps available, and more customization to app limiting. Perhaps also a timer rather than a schedule setup for a profile. Drains so fast... I am not playing games, using my phone for social media, mails, texts and basic stuff like that and i cannot hit 5hrs SoT. I know, I could block the host name foo.bar.com, but sadly a lot of other functionality relies on that. I don't care, if I have to write Code (C/Java), I have knowledge of GNU/Linux, so I could partially transfer it to android. So, like the title says, my tablet Tabitha's screen is busted after my friend dropped her from the kitchen counter. No cracks, but just impossible to revive. I didn't find it worthwhile to get the screen fixed, and instead we went halfsies and got me a new tab, Topaz. She doesn't get to go outside unsupervised any more. However, old Tabby has now just been sitting in my cupboard for months. So I thought I'd clear her out and maybe resell her. I know it wouldn't be a lot - but at least clearing both the digital and physical space will be nice for my mind. What I've tried (which isn't a lot, heh): ~ I've tried rebooting her even with the cracked screen after leaving her to charge for a while. My Google account still indicates that Tabby's inactive since when she broke, so that didn't work. ~ since my Google account is still linked to Tabby, I tried Find Lost Device. Unfortunately I didn't have that properly set up, so I couldn't gut the data with this method. I haven't unlinked my Google account from her yet, just in case someone knows a way to utilise it. I've read about the 'Android Data Eraser' app, but I'm not really familiar with it or if it's malware for my computer and I don't wanna risk Saphira without having more knowledge first. Having said this, how safe do you think it is to begin rolling out more of these devices that will probably remain in service for 4-5 years? Posted: 09 Sep 2021 02:50 PM PDT I'm worried my Pixel 3 is going to get bricked since many others are experiencing this lately, and I have a lot of accounts hooked up to the Google Authenticator app on my phone. Other than going through each account one by one and removing the Authenticator, is there a way to transfer the entire Google Authenticator to my PC or Macbook, or back it up in some way? I don't want to lose access to all these accounts if my phone bricks. I know there's an export button, but it won't let me take screenshots of the QR codes it generates, and it's unclear if these QR codes expire.
