Build applications with python Posted: 20 Sep 2021 07:02 AM PDT Hello, how common and doable is it, that i could build applications with python for android? i saw there are a few "crossplattform" ui frameworks, but in my experience crossplattform never works if you want to make a real application. i only want to build small ones for me and perhaps a few friends, but i fear that i would bump against problems early with python. but i basically only code in python :( are there numbers/experiences how often android apps are built in python? any shining examples in the real world? in the fdroid store? How to prepare for associate android developer certification? Posted: 20 Sep 2021 06:25 AM PDT I'm planning to take the Associate Android Developer Certification by Google (https://grow.google/androiddev/#?modal_active=none). How do I prepare for this certification exam? If I know everything in the Android Developer Fundamentals Course by Google (https://developer.android.com/courses/fundamentals-training/overview-v2), will I be able to pass the exam? Is app source code copyrighted? Posted: 20 Sep 2021 07:51 AM PDT Can you take some portion of source code from another app published on playstore by somebody else and integrate it in your application? [link] [comments]
Noob question, can't find a tutorial on how to view all available network folders/smb Posted: 20 Sep 2021 06:39 AM PDT I thought this would be straight forward, but apparently not. I'm (re)learning programming and thought this would be simple, but can't find a tutorial to help me out. I just want to show a list of internal folders plus all available shared network folders/smb. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction? Doing this in Java of all things [link] [comments]
Rename app (already published) Posted: 20 Sep 2021 01:43 AM PDT So I have an app (say, "topapp") already in production. Now it turns out that the app is useful to a broader audience than originally expected. So I want to rename it to say, "superapp". If I change the app name in the source code and also in the Play Store console, is that sufficient? In addition to new downloads, I want the current app users to also automatically get the renamed app (after updating). Does Google review approve doing this? [link] [comments]
Posted: 20 Sep 2021 04:48 AM PDT My phone (redmi note 7 lavender) was on Pixel Experience 4. Everything worked fine until it turned off and couldn't boot anymore. It stays stuck on the G logo (I've tried many times and waited for an entire hour). What I've done: 1) recover all files I could from SD card (But I've got MANY important files on my internal storage that is encrypted) 2) I've tried to do a backup of my data partition. It fails each time. On the log it says each time that a file from the data/misc file is impossible to copy. 3) Tried to delete the file that won't work, but it doesn't work. Each time I do that, another file is preventing the backup from running. 4) Since it's the data/misc file that is causing problems, I've tried to flashboot the misc.img file from the Stock ROM. It seems worth since now I can only boot on the fastboot or recovery (orange fox recovery project). What I'm looking for is to boot on my os again so I can save all my precious data or save as many as I can (recordings and images) via any means but it is behind that encryption wall. Any help is appreciated, thank you very much. [link] [comments]

Anyone of you guys got the blocked by play protect warning for your apps? How did you fix it? Posted: 19 Sep 2021 12:03 PM PDT I submitted an appeal to google regarding it. It has been 1 week but the error still shows. [link] [comments]
Android Developer documentation inconsistent with 2020.3.1? Posted: 19 Sep 2021 05:32 PM PDT Beginner here. Going through the Android Developer documentation and hit a snag on the Build Your First App section. Specifically on the "Create your First App" section. I downloaded version 2020.3.1 from the Android Developers site just now. The directories "app > java > com.example.myfirstapp > MainActivity" and "app > res > layout > activity_main.xml" do not appear in project files on the lefthand side, though the rest of the files outlined in the documentation do. Assume I know nothing at all about this (I know some C++ from Arduino projects), but I did follow the steps to a tee. Is the documentation out of date? I assume that I can't go ahead without these files, but am lost for what to do next. Any help is appreciated, thank you! [link] [comments]
