    I went from Pixel 2, to Galaxy S20 FE, and now I totally miss the software (and hardware for that matter) experience from my pixel. I checked out some videos on the new version and I think I would totally hate only having 4 quick settings on the first pulldown. I have 6 right now and it was hard to decide which 6 I want front and center.

    Is there an option to change size or anything like that?

    Running Android on Raspberry Pi, having USB connection Issues

    TLDR; running android on a raspberry pi, unable to connect to DJI remote controller (drone product). Will x-post to RPi subreddit.

    Hello, we're running Konstakang's LineageOS 16 (Android 9) build for Android on a RPi 4. The OS works great except for this issue we're running into with DJI product connections.

    We built a drone controller app using the DJI android SDK and sideloaded it onto the device. Initially, we got the error: "Package X requires unavailable shared library com.android.future.usb.accessory" at install so could not install the APK, but we created the /etc/permissions/android.hardware.usb.xml file to point to the com.android.future.usb.accessory.jar file in /system/libs. It then ran, but can not connect to the DJI product over USB.

    We tried a bunch of things like building the libusb.so binary from source and installing that and fiddling with USB requirements in the manifest file of the android app. We added code that looks for USB devices using android.hardware.usb and found our USB device, but the DJI callback was not triggered so clearly it's having trouble identifying the USB device as a DJI product. Has anyone tried this setup and gotten it to work?

    Control android without screen?

    Hello, I'm trying to recover data from a broken galaxy S7 edge. The problem is with the screen, its completely black and unusable.

    It hadn't usb debugging, nor root. It still boots and functions but i can't see anything.

    All the info i found to help with this kind of problems are with broken touch but functional panels.

    There's any way to mirror the screen to know what I'm doing? Or use adb to do something in download or recovery mode?

    Poco F1 — Google Play Protect: Uncertified Device

    Hi, I've used LineageOS on Poco F1 for a pair of years, without anything of strange, right now I'm on version 18. Recently I have installed NikGApps and they seem working fine. The only thing I recently noticed is that, on the Google Play Store, the device results uncertified. I have already tried to register the Device ID and clean Play Services storage, but without success. I hope someone could answers, thank you in advance.

    3rd Party NFC payment apps??

    So I've been trying to find literally ANY info on a 3rd party app that can do NFC payments like Google Pay can. Does anything exists and if so what is it?

    I'm looking for this as I'm trying to move away from Google services completely and am already running a custom ROM with Micro-G and root to fake Safetynet.

    If anyone knows anything I'd greatly appreciate it, every time I search I get the same 4 answers of "Google Pay, Android Pay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay" even though 2 of those don't work without specific phones and the other is dead.

    Xiaomi - copying things between two apps

    Hey all, my gf got this new phone. It's Xiaomi 9AT. As we all know, the MIUI what Xiaomi uses is pretty aggressive when it comes to battery saving. How can I stop browser to stop forgetting copied/written things? When you write something then go to another app and back, it is gone.

    I never had Xiaomi and couldn't find any tips regarding this. TIA!

    Project advice - Data logging/capture with periodic upload via Bluetooth

    I've been using Arduino now for about 10 years but this would be my first jump into bluetooth. I'm considering building a project in an area that does not have regular Wi-Fi access but that I want to monitor certain environmental data.

    I'd like for my little widget to record environmental data (temperature, humidity, etc.), store that data (SD card?), And then keep it until it's able to connect automatically to my phone via Bluetooth. It would then upload the data to my phone and delete the SD card to start over.

    I've worked quite a bit with Wi-Fi based tools using esp8266 and esp32 but I've never done anything like this. Does anyone have any advice or thoughts about where to start?

    Android 10 Tablet unable to connect or recognize Android 10 Phone's Hotspot

    I hate to post this because I pride myself on computer stuff,, but I have a Lenovo Tablet with Android 10 on it which won't recognize my phone's Hotspot.

    My Samsung phone is also running Android 10.

    My Lenovo Laptop (running Linux) can connect though.

    I don't want to do a factory reset, because of the data usage, but I think it may be in order.

    The Hotspot does not appear on network scans.

    I tried entering the SSID and password, acting as if it was a hidden network, and it still won't recognize the network - even after changing SSID and password settings.

    I tried connecting using the QR code technique (you know, that code in the square?) and it also proved fruitless.

    3 different ways.

    Like I said, factory reset is my last resort, but if someone knows another option, please

    Thousands of contacts appearing

    I'm using android for mobile and I just realised I have 8.9k contacts of which most of them are clones of an original contact. I tried to merge them with the option from the contacts app but only four out of hundreds appear with that option. The contact clones usually don't have a number but they're stored, as an identical name to the original contact without the number. I used to have two or three but in recent months they multiplied to thousands. I would be grateful if someone knows how to solve this problem, if its a virus.. Or whatever it is going on.     Do Not Disturb is turning itself on automatically non stop

    I never get the signal because of it, I added everything to the exceptions, yet I see my signal is 0. Doesn't matter how many times I turn it off, it just instantly turns on. I did change it to "when I turn it off" option instead of specific time slot, and it changed nothing. Can I delete that feature all together or...? Its automatically in a custom rom I downloaded, and I really want this rom.

    The functionality of Dependent Spinner.

    Hi, Is it possible to put functionality on the dependent spinner, I have 3 spinners one is parent spinner and two of them are child spinners. I am trying to accomplish so when I choose some option of the parent spinner it will automatically change the child spinners depends what I choose(This is working). BUT the problem is that I dont know how to put functionality on that I am trying to create unit converter so when I choose for example Time(from parent spinner) it will change both of my child spinners to the Time units(Seconds minutes etc.). I'm trying to achieve this by adding functionality between the capabilities of these two child spinners and input from EditText. to convert units such as seconds to minutes, hours to minutes, etc.,and show the output of the TextView.

    I hope I have explained it sufficiently...

    I've had this issue for a while where notifications of certain apps don't come through unless I wake my phone up and others are delayed or absent. How do I fix this?

    Device: Galaxy S21 Exynos, Latest updates (the issue was prevalent on my old devices too: Galaxy S10e Exynos and OnePlus 3)

    1. Some apps like Email or Instagram are nearly instant, no matter what the phone is doing.

    2. Some like WhatsApp sometimes take a couple of seconds or lose connection to WhatsApp web now and then, but they mostly come through.

    3. Then there are some apps which are always late, but often also when my device is locked. These often tend to send multiple notifications at once, where the latest one is very nearly on time but the others were from anywhere from a minute to 15-20 minutes ago.

    4. The fourth category of apps are those which will simply not ring my phone: they come through only when the phone is unlocked.

    5. The final category of apps are those which just stop sending notifications till I reopen the app. They then send notifications for a couple of days, and go silent again till I open them.

    What I have done so far:

    1. Removed battery optimisation manually for apps I installed
    2. Disabled all sleeping and deep sleeping apps.
    3. Put the phone on high-performance mode (and all battery saving features are off).
    4. Adaptive Battery is off.
    5. Checked everything on don't kill my app to make sure I have everything open.

    I cannot understand what to do. The problem is that many apps behave like (3), (4), or (5) even with all battery saving features off, and there are apps like Instagram which behave like (1) even if manually forced into deep sleep.

    Questions:

    1. I read similar complaints about other devices. Is this an OEM issue or an Android issue?
    2. Is there a way to fix this? If yes, how?

    Need help with sd card

    At first recent apps I moved to sd wouldn't work, then I can't use the apps I previously moved to my sd card at all, like if they're uninstalled and grayed out, and any time I try reinstalling apps it doesn't let me and if I try ejecting it or reformatting the sd my phone restarts, pls help asap

    How to sort by bitrate in Android?

    Can't find corrupted video file within file system.

    Hello reddit. I have a question relative to Xiaomi Redmi Note 8.

    Recently I have downloaded video from reddit using a third-party service on my smartphone. After a while I have deleted the video and it stayed on my phone. For example, when I run Whatsapp, then going to send a message to another user using "send video" menu the File Explorer is open and I can see the video in it. But when I trying to find the video across Xiaomi's file manager I don't see it. The video is displayed as corrupted icon. I attempted to find it using adb tools but found nothing.

    How can I find and delete it from my smartphone without root and full resetting if possibly? Sorry, english is my not native language. Hope you understood me.

    How to turn off haptic(touch) feedback in specific application

    Hello! It's somehow possible to turn off haptic feedback in specific app? For example music player that has vibration when you stop music (doesn't have option within the app to turn off).

    I tried to look online for answer but I just found similar questions only for notifications.

    The only thing that works is turning whole touch feedback off which is not the solution I am looking for.

    unwanted undeleteable alexa app after updates

    Why. Just why. After I gave my samsung galaxy s7 a round of updates I noticed that the amazon alexa app had been surreptitiously installed. I went to delete it, and delete app was not an option. I disabled it, and then force-stopped it. and now it seems hidden, but I know it's still there, lurking. How can I make this madness stop. Become a ludite? Burn it to the ground and salt the earth?

    Notification dots stop working intermittently, no discernible reason

    Pixel 4a 5g, Android 11, Nova Launcher pro.

    Every once in a while, with no known changes on my part, my notification dots will just stop working. I've tried changing the settings and changing them back, but nothing except a full Restart actually gets them going again. This has happened 7 or 7 times already, again with no obvious trigger - and no changes on my part.

    Any suggestions or ideas to follow?

    New to android after using iOS for nearly a decade.

    Hey everyone so as seen in the title post I'm new to android almost a month ago I upgraded my phone and got an S20 Ultra. What I need to do is move my all of my downloaded music from my pc to my phone. I'm so used to iTunes but I have no clue on how to do it with android. Also can anyone recommend a good usb to usb c cable so I can sync my stuff. Any info would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.

    I have a Pixel 5 and I'm using a Nova Launcher (but these problems persist in the stock launcher)

    1. I'm really confused about what happens when you swipe up from the bottom of the phone. Half the time it opens the app drawer, but half the time it "zooms out" and sometimes lands on the currently opened app page (where I can clear apps I'm no longer using). Is there a way to have one thing and not the other?

    2. Can I remove the horiztonal line at the bottom of the screen? I like a minimalist, no-clutter look.

    3. Is there a way to move the time to the right side of the notification bar? I like there to be nothing near the camera hole.

    4. Is there a way to customize what swiping left and right do on the home screen? Can one of those be the current opened apps, while another is the app drawer?

    5. Google's "at a glance" is a mess. Sometimes it shows the weather, most of the time it doesn't. I tried reinstalling it.

    I want to do this not just to save my battery longer but also to prevent it from over heating any help? I tried to use apps like performance tweaker and 3c cpu manager but when I lower the frequency it returns to 1001mhz any help?
