| Posted: 12 Aug 2021 10:43 AM PDT I've got this RFID wristband which is pretty bulky and thus I would like to swap it for something else. Naturally my phone (Galaxy A21 with Android 11) comes to mind. With apps like NFC Tools I'm able to read the data off of the RFID chip fine, it's an "ISO 14443A RFID Mifare 1k Chip". I'm now wondering if it would be possible to emulate this chip with my smartphone. NFC Tools also allows to save the chip data and emulate with the pro version, but I wanted to know for sure if this works before buying. Or maybe there is a cheaper/better solution to this? | Locked out of Samsung for 1440minutes Posted: 12 Aug 2021 06:41 AM PDT Hi all, has anyone had an issue with their android/samsung phone where it will randomly lock you out for 1440 minutes? I entered my pin correctly then it decided to lock me out. Samsung support wasn't very supportive, I can't factory reset the phone as it won't turn off, soft reset only makes the time go back up to 1440 minutes - my phone is a samsung galaxy S20 FE If anyone has had this, or fixed this issue would be greatly appreciated for your advise! Initially my A50 was considered as "my device" and could be ticked. Now, I'm at a loss. I've redone all the steps above and I'm stuck with that error message. On https://myaccount.google.com/device-activity I've also signed out from my phone device and login again, to no avail. Considering just resetting my phone - guess that would fix it? | How to disable/get rid of extra options on heads up/pop up text notifications? Posted: 12 Aug 2021 10:48 AM PDT I can NOT find this anywhere and I'm curious if it's an app I've got, default android, or what, but there is nothing that covers the "Reply, Call, Remind" options that are listed below the heads up notifications and they're driving me absolutely insane. I have bigger thumbs and it feels like surgery every time I try to click on the notification because I have to avoid them all. I'd like to be taken to the app directly by just clicking the notification. I have accidentally picked "call" more than once and it's not ideal. Does anyone know how to disable these options? I have disabled smart replies and rooted around in settings of each app I have. Don't take that at face value, though, I may have missed specific settings or am looking up the wrong terms. If no option exist, knowing how these options are displayed and through what app will at least give me someone to yell at about it. Possible relevant apps in question:

| Non stop pop-ups are interrupting my phone all the time. Any advice on how to make them stop? Posted: 12 Aug 2021 10:11 AM PDT For about 2 weeks now, I've had pop-ups interrupt while I'm using my phone like normal. Samsung Internet pops up asking me to agree to reporting, game app pop-ups that bring me to the Play Store for whichever game it's promoting, and also, my Chrome browser seems to be affected too as it'll bring me to an ad page when I use it. I bought a malware removal app that Google recommended and no luck as the ads are still there. I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 and my carrier is T-Mobile. | Is the Huawei Nova 2S China Exclusive? Posted: 12 Aug 2021 09:37 AM PDT Hi everyone, hope you're all well, as the above title says, I'm curious to know a bit more about the Nova 2S. I couldn't find a ton of info online (other than it's specs, which still look as if they hold up in 2021 relatively well) however there is one question about it I do have. Was it only ever released in china? I've been trying to look for a Chinese exclusive Huawei phone for a while so I could try out HarmonyOS, and I have noticed the device is on the list of supported devices, and I've been trying to get my hands on a Chinese version just so it can make my life a bit easier when it comes to HarmonyOS overseas. I've tried asking in the Huawei Subreddit and sadly got no response. Anyway, if anyone does have any info towards it, such as the above title, your help would be greatly appreciated! Posted: 12 Aug 2021 09:33 AM PDT I recently got a Xiaomi Mi 11 and have noticed since I am on a pay as you go sim, that even with mobile (cellular) data off, my credit still goes down and the system apps still using my data. Is there a way around this? I have gone to each individual app & system app and turned off mobile data, however there are a lot of apps were the toggle is disabled. Posted: 12 Aug 2021 08:29 AM PDT Device: Huawei P20 Lite My device is neither rooted or has an unlocked boitloader, but is it possible to remove some system apps? I don't use most of the Huawei apps, and the particular Huawei-branded ones that I use is the Health and Weather app. I'm considering removing ones like Huawei Music, Huawei Video, AppGallery, Support, Ride Mode. And maybe HMS Core too, but it may break the Health and Weather app. Edit: I'm not too concerned about the apps still being on the storage, my focus is more of just removing them and having them not run in the background (particularly AppCenter). Also would I be able to reinstall a system app if I accidentally remove one and it was needed by another app without doing a factory reset? [link] [comments] |
| Oneplus 8pro lineagos 18.1 help Posted: 12 Aug 2021 08:12 AM PDT Hey all so for anyone who has a one plus 8 pro and lineagos 18.1 installed on it, did you have an issue where playstore won't download apps or games over like 200mb? Every time I try to install like final fantasy 3 or cod anything like that it starts downloading then stops and says that it couldn't download please TRy again, iv tryed using different gaps clearing cache and data etc. I can download from the internet just fine as I installed cod through apkpure however that's a lot of work to have to go through to download any of my other payed games so if there's a way to fix play store I'd apriciate the help! But EACH time I swap between them or just let phone sleep, game starts reloading (and it takes 2 minutes!). This problem could be with another applications like youtube or games, Reddit app even. I thought my problem consists of RAM, but I used developers mode and saw that I always have 30% of my ram available (of 4,0GB in total). So, any way to stop these reloads? [link] [comments] |

Samsung has a Sound Assistant app where you can change the step volume (how many steps there are from min to max volume) but it doesn't have a way to show a number on the slider. [link] [comments] |

She has TERRIBLE battery life and complains about it all the time, I asked her to show me her phone and she had like 20+ apps open. I told her to close the apps after using them but the next day it was the same thing. It has to be something that doesn't require root access, but it does't matter if it requires ADB or developer options. Because the problem is she is almost 50 and doesn't get that pressing the home button doesn't close an app even if I tell her a million times. [link] [comments] |
| Immersive Mode on Android 11(ideally) Posted: 12 Aug 2021 07:09 AM PDT I've had a Realme GT 5G for 2 weeks now and while most of the features it has (compared to my Oneplus 5T) I absolutely underestimated the lack of Immersive mode. The Golden Ages and the Fall On my previous phones, I have used Navbar Apps to remove the status bar and navigation bar in certain apps (it worked on every app, and you can blacklist the ones where you want the navigation and status bar to always be visible) For some reason it just doesn't work on the Realme GT 5G tho, and it's a major, extreme, unacceptable ****ing bummer. Navbar Apps(on Google Play) If anyone knows how to do it with Navbar Apps, please let me know, but I will go to extremes if I have no other option: Rooting I have thought about rooting the device already, but I am hesitant because there isn't a whole lot of Unbrick guides yet and from what I've heard about Android 11 in the last couple of weeks, I'm not even sure if it would fix the problem. Also, my local banking app is really neat and detects my root whatever I do, and that's a major inconvenience, another reason I refrained from rooting. Custom OS If there is no other option, I'll probably have to install a custom OS, that's how important this single feature is to me. (Fullscrn straightup declared that it doesn't work on my device, so I am very doubtful anything else might work) The problem with custom OS' is that I've never done that and that I have no idea what OS would best fit my needs (the research I've done on them was confusing at best, it seems almost nobody has custom OS' anymore) Anything, please... If anyone knows any other solution than what I already described, I'm very desperate, I really really really want this phone. If you actually believe that there is no other way and the problem is specifically with this phone (and also live in central Europe) xxxxxxx then I can buy a different one where you know that it works. Additional information I am a Linux user (Pop Os) and know how to use ADB and have limited python and C skills, if that helps with what you have to explain to me. I installed VLC, and expected to be able to make it the default for opening videos. However I never received the "One time or Always" popup for choosing a default player for videos.

Posted: 12 Aug 2021 06:29 AM PDT While charging nothing is wrong, but when I unplug the charger my screen turns on and when I try to turn it off it instantly turns back on. It started after the phone gave me a moisture warning for moisture that wasn't there. The phone has never been wet, the moisture issue stops if I fiddle with the charger cable. Now when it's not plugged in it acts as if there is a cable being connected and disconnected and the screen won't sleep. This is killing my battery! (The cable I'm currently using isn't the original, I think that the moisture waring is due to this, but I don't know why the screen doesn't turn off.) [link] [comments] |

| Missing "sent" sms msgs when switching texting apps Posted: 11 Aug 2021 11:16 PM PDT So I have a Note 20 Ultra and have been using Samsung Msging app (with Samsungs rcs on). I switched to Google messages and noticed that most of my threads don't have the portion I sent out but do have all the received messages. Oddly enough this is even with friends with iPhone which I know for sure would go thru standard sms. Is there a way to force a sync between Samsung msgs and Google messages so I can see these sent texts? Thanks [link] [comments] |
