    I recently bought TCL 40" Class 1080P FHD LED Android Smart TV 3 Series 40S330. According to the TCL people i contacted today the current software version is V8-R851T10-LF1V091. But my TV is showing V8-R851T10-LF1V088.017661. I then came across this article on TCL ANDROID TV website. https://support.tcl.com/vulnerabilities-found-in-tcl-android-tvs It listed my tv model as vulnerable and the newer software version has been released to fix the vulnerability. But when i use system update nothing new pops up . I've emailed them again to let them know. Is anyone using this tv model? What's your experience please?

    So, when I add YouTube on the Home Screen, it says 3 channels, Recommended, Trending & Subscriptions. But, none of them are updating with time, they're just stuck and show the same videos.

    Blue tone on livestreams

    Hi guys, I just got an Android 10 Skyworth TV last night and everything was fine and clear until I try to watch livestream. The colors on the livestream is all blue/white and some colors are inverted. However, on Youtube and other apps it is showing the colors fine.

    May I know has any one encountered this, and what's your solution?

    Android TV or FireTV Stick?

    I asked this in r/FireTV, and it looks like I'm getting downvoted. I'm hoping this question is in the right place.

    I'm looking to purchase a new 4K TV, and wanted to figure out if I should look at an Android TV or remain with my 4K FireTV Stick.

    For hardware, I use a Yamaha YST-800 soundbar with subwoofer, which integrates directly with my FireTV Remote. For software, I only have a Netflix subscription, and have sideloaded SmartTubeNext and Kodi for other viewing requirements.

    Would there be any inherent quality difference between the a native Android TV and using my FireTV Stick?

    The youtube app is not great. Does anyone know of an easy way to switch accounts with family membars on YouTube app for the TV. My VirginMedia Tivo box has a YouTube app and it allows for easy account switching, how come? To switch I have to sign out and sign in to the desired account which is not great!

    Multi user voice match

    Has anyone gotten voice match to work with Google assistant on their Android TV / Google TV. Just got a Sony Bravia KE65A8 2020 edition with it built in. I cant seem to get the Google assitant to recognise multiple people. It can recognise me but if my brother wants to use his voice he has to go into settings and switch accounts for Google Assistant. So anoying.

    Incompatibility between mecool mk 2 and Denon AVR 3313

    Hello,
    I just bought a tv box, the mecool MK2, and unfortunately I discovered that my Denon AVR 3313 can't handle it (I think the HDMI protocol is the guilty).
    Can you suggest me some solutions?
    My setup is the following:
    Denon AVR is in the center, connected to the projector, the tv box and to the 5.1 audioaudio

    I've finally decided to break up with MythTV and get with NextPVR

    I was seduced by the architecture of Myth. I like the fact that you can have primary and secondary servers for handling the load, doing post-processing, etc.

    But it just isn't as stable as I want it to be. It requires a "tech mind" to fix things (which is fine by me, but it's not Wife-Proof). I don't like the reliance on MySQL/MariaDB. I don't like the lengthy configuration and the complex upgrades.

    From the client side, I have a mix of Nvidia Shields and Amazon Fire TV 4k. It's nearly unusable on the Amazon Fire TV 4k. On the Shields, I can use the Leanback launcher (which doesn't have a "Guide") with good performance, except when the hour changes (sometime this stops the stream). I can use the MythTV app, which requires a lengthy setup and is kind of unstable. It also doesn't have the video performance that the Leanback Myth app has.

    I recently had to redo some of my network (which included a different DHCP mapping) and ever since then the Android TV MythTV app (not leanback) has had serious issues with even getting connected to the MythTV service.

    I've been trying out NextPVR on the same hardware I ran my MythTV server on (Rpi 4, 4gb ram w/ 10TB usb3 drive) and it's been working great so far. The Kodi integration for it on my Shield is pretty good. I can't really complain. The setup of it was easy, since I've been using portioner and containers to do things. I like that it doesn't have a lot of external dependencies like MySQL/MariaDB. I'm willing to sacrifice for NextPVR some features that aren't available on it (like Commskipping) that never really worked great on MythTV anyway. The NextPVR setup did give me grief regarding trouble-shooting the Guide not having any data for a little while (even though I set up my SchedulesDirect ok).

    My TV input is an HDHR Prime 3 with a CableCard. NextPVR certainly survived recording 3 HD streams at once with my setup, and playing one of them as well.

    Kodi seems relatively ok with the NextPVR plugin as well. The MythTV PVR plugin for Kodi has always given me grief.

    The only downside, in my mind, is that the NextPVR android tv app costs $6.99.

    Has anyone else recently broken up with MythTV? What did you move to?

    Torrents & AndroidTV

    I used to have the files save to dropbox, then had an app that I could chromecast the file to the TV, but I haven't done that in years. I just picked up a CCwGTV and torrent on my desktop. What's the best way to send those to my TV?

    I have an issue with my Nvidia Shield audio. Whenever my shield goes into sleep mode, or I pause my show for a brief period of time, the video will play but the audio will not be audible until I rewind the show or restart the app. I am having to do this each time. Is there a setting that I am missing or something I am doing wrong? I tried updating it but it says that it is up to date.

    Setup: I have an LG tv that has a Samsung sound bar connected to it via fiber optic. All the HDMI cables are routed to the tv.

    Alternative YouTube clients?

    SmartTubeNext seems to be broken almost every other day, it's getting extremely frustrating.

    Smart Youtube TV is just normal YouTube these days, no real features apart from adblock. I already have premium so that's completely useless to me.

    I'm looking for a client with sponsorblock + speed controls. Nothing else is really needed.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    SD Card in android tv box - can I make it portable storage??

    So lately I realised my android tv box (Minix Neo T5) had an micro sd card holder, and I watch movies and stuff on my android tv box so I was wondering if I could put movies onto the sd card and then maybe put it in my phone and watch them, but what seems to be happening is that's its either in view only mode - so I have to format it - but when I format it, I cant move stuff onto it as in, in file manager apps it dosent come up?? But when it was in view only it did?

    Black screen on my Sharp Android TV

    I was watching Netflix and all of a sudden the Tv have shut down. I can still see the power button on (red) but the screen is always black now. I've tried to unplug it etc but nothing seem to work.. do I need a new tv? I bough that tv just over a year ago! Thanks for the help!

    Pairing Spectrum remote with Hisense H8G

    Is it possible to pair a Spectrum remote to control things besides on/off and volume? I'm not able to select an app on the home screen with my Spectrum remote - only adjust volume and turn on/off. Was really hoping to only need 1 remote. (Would a Universal remote allow me to control the smart TV side and the cable box?)
