    I'm looking to buy an 65 inch TV for my living room soon and I'd prefer it to be either Android or Google TV built in so I don't have to worry about getting a streaming stick or about an additional remote.

    I have the 2020 Chromecast with Google TV in my 43 inch TV in my bedroom. I've always been a Chromecast user so when they announced the CCWGTV I instantly jumped on it.

    I gotta say, I fell in love with how immersive the UI is and I can't pass up how great the recommendation system is. I love how everything is just right there in your face and how it pulls recommendations from your streaming services.

    The feature I dig the most is the "Watchlist" feature. I love how easy it is to just save any TV show or movie to your watchlist for later.

    I'm currently eyeing either the new Hisense U7G or U6G that are coming out this year, both which run Android TV.

    But I'm wondering if I can add content to my watchlist from standard Android TV as well or if it's something that's exclusive to only Google TV.

    Hopefully, the Hisense Android TVs will eventually get updated to Google TV. But I heard that TCL is coming out with some TVs that run Google TV and Sony already has some released. Heard the Nvidia Shield is rumored to get updated to Google TV as well.

    I'd personally rather avoid having to plug in another CCWGTV if I can.

    Best app to view PHOTOS on USB drive?

    What is the best app to view photos on an external HDD , in the form of a slideshow? I have a MiTV which has an inbuilt media player app but there is no option to start q slideshow which was present even in my 2011 TV . Thanks for the help in advance!

    4K iPlayer Euro 2020

    Hi. Is there a way to watch Euro 2020 in 4K on the Google Cast or Shield? I have a 2016 Sony tv with ATV which supports BBC iPlayer 4K, but the new Google cast does not. Is there a way to extract the APK, or grab the link to the stream? During the world cup two years ago someone got a link which worked with VLC.

    Best Sony TV - Maximum budget 2000 EUR

    Hi guys!

    I am looking to buy a new TV in the following months. I'm a big fan of Sony and I absolutely like the Android TV technology. I did a lot of customizations on the old TV.

    I would like your advice on what you think it would be the best option considering: - maximum budget 2000 EUR - Diagonal of 140 cm - Quality of the image is the upmost importance

    PS: I've seen the new Sony TV's from 2021, but I'm not sure if it's worth to pay extra for the Cognitive processor for example.

    So i got the new Google chromecast with Google tv and i cannot find the photos app. Isnt there one? How is that even possible? Not looking for 3rd party app. Is there a way to sideload an official app? This should be included in the core os.

    Trouble Connecting soundbar via HDMI (arc)

    Does anyone know how to connect the soundbar/surround sound system via the HDMI? All I can find is the Bluetooth connection. I have searched high and low on the internet but only see the Roku steps. Thanks in advance.

    Any good lyric app for TV?

    Spotify does not show lyrics on TV. Deezer is not available in my country. Musixmatch can show lyrics provided it is played from internal storage, namaste not when streaming from Spotify.

    What other options are there?

    Force apps to see device as mobile device

    I have an Nvidia shield. Trying to get a specific app to run but it says it only runs on mobile devices. Is there a way to disable/turn off this check? Or even spoof the shield as a mobile device?

    If this is the wrong place please point me to the right direction as well.

    Is is possible to downgrade the Android TV Home to a version before the homescreen ads?

    I got a Android TV box a few weeks ago and I really don't like the new homescreen ads that Google is pushing, but the Uninstall Updates feature in the settings only goes as far back as a version that still has homescreen ads. I've seen this method on XDA using ADB to install the APK for an older app version and it supposedly will downgrade it but i'm not sure if it will make something stop working since the Android TV Home is a system app. The guide also mentions the -r switch which will retain app data for the app you are downgrading but I will not be retaining the app data. If you know of any methods to downgrade the app that for sure won't break anything, mention them. Also I don't want to switch to another launcher like Wolf Launcher or the old Leanback Launcher.

    Ethernet/WiFi speed subpar on Chromecast with Google TV

    I am wondering whether anyone has experienced any similar issues with subpar internet speeds on the new Google Chromecast with Google TV. Both on WiFi and on ethernet I get underwhelming speeds of 40-50Mbps while my phone, laptop or desktop in the same spot easily get into ~250Mbps wirelessly.

    I could understand the WiFi issue: the other devices are larger and have more room for antennas so it is understandable that they can pick up WiFi better. But I do not understand why the ethernet performance is so slow. Because I cannot get the official Google ethernet adapter in my country, I bought one from Cable Matters. It is a USB-C adapter that you plug into a power socket and attach the ethernet cable to, and then you forward that power and internet to the USB-C port of the Chromecast (or any other USB C device). This works perfectly fine with my desktop where I then get those ~250MBps speeds. But on the Chromecast (same ethernet cable), the speed is always limited to around 40-50Mbps, both on WiFi and with the ethernet cable. WiFi was disabled when I tested the ethernet performance.

    So what is going on. The adapter is not broken, because it works fine with my desktop. So I would think that something is wrong with the Chromecast. It is fully up-to-date. But looking at other people's reviews, they are easily getting 100Mbps+ speeds. Did I just get a device with a lower-spec internet chip? Has anyone else experienced this before? All tips welcome.

    PS: some of you may argue that "50Mbps is fast enough as it is", but I am just trying to understand why the speed is slower. Also, in my case I am trying to stream high bitrate content via Plex so I need a stable 50Mbps connection at least.

    Anyway to spoof browser user agent on android tv? (Currently using puffin)

    Hi folks,

    I'm from Indonesia, and the Euro 2020 streaming provider is blocking access from smart tv browser, tried to access using puffin browser on my mi box s and samsung tizen tv browser (from pc browser and its android/ios apps is accessible).

    Using VPN is not an option, since they blocked access from abroad country as well.

    It seems they blocked user from smart tv browser by detecting browser user agent. Is there any way for us to spoof the user agent to look like we browse from a PC?

    Bluetooth Philips TV troubleshooting

    Hi guys, I have a Philips 50pus7303 and a can't connect any device via Bluetooth, I can find the TV in my phone Bluetooth but when I search Bluetooth device from my TV no device is find.

    Can I do something?

    Button remapper messes up the volume keys

    So as soon as I installed button remapper and switched on the accessibility for it, the volume keys started behaving weird. Like, it will increase our reduce the volume on single tap but when I tap and hold it, it doesn't increase our reduce the volume continously. Does this happen with all Android TVs? Note that I haven't even configured anything in the button remapper, only enabled accessibility.

    Problems with HDR and Amazon Prime

    I got a problem with my Xiaomi mibox, as soon as i start an Prime Series (Grand tour) my screen gets darker and its greys washed out. This is everywhere, in the menus etc. it only stops when i change the settings. Also my TV isnt showing that it's HDR content (Samsung aprox 2019 LED) it's basically unwatchable this way, can someone help?

    of all the times to go wonky, I was just getting ready to watch Nick Diaz on PPV. 😉 I have a Philips 50 inch android tv. 50pfl5604/F7 The stupid thing went black, then came back on but to the beginning screen like I just took it out of the box. WT !!! It's only 2 1/2 months old. So lucky me I get to set it up all over again. 🤣 Is this typical with Android or did I just get a lucky (?) moment with mine?

    TCL Android TV C6000 65" Harman/Kardon Firmware

    I've been using my tv for almost a year.. it started to restart randomly. The restarts have been increasing lately.. i was wondering if i could do a local firmware update as the network update shows no updates available. My current version is android TV v8 570. Found on the internet that it has been updated to v8 574 but i couldnt find the file downloads.. is anyoing having the same issue ?
