| How do I copy text using share menu? Posted: 24 Jun 2021 04:14 PM PDT So, many times I want to copy a link of something (think a product in the Amazon app) or text from Whatsapp message(there's only the share option, not a copy text option when the text is attached to an image). On apple devices the share menu would have a "copy text" option. But on my Android phone which is a Redmi note 10. When I click share, all of the options are to open another app is. Share to messages, messenger, pdf viewer etc. Is there no way to copy text to clipboard using the share button in certain apps instead of sharing it to a different app? [link] [comments] |

To the point where i cant delete. Something seems to be constantly filling my memory even after deleting 10gigs of photos and my entire itunes playlist (use when offline). I have been making a collage of photos for a family member in picsart, and after ever one i save i suddenly have 0 memory.. Deleted almost all my apps minus Instagram and a few important apps, but still.. Wiped my Cache and now I have a gigabyte of Data left.. You cant tell me a collage of photos on picsart in the instagram photo format size takes up gigs of storage?? Any help would be great! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 24 Jun 2021 01:56 PM PDT It's the "#switchTikTokAccount" A friend of mine has had some issues in the past with both iphones and android where someone has gained access to his phones and as such he's super aware of all things that has the word "tracker" in it, which leads to a lot of suport calls from me. Usually I am able to dispell his worries with a quick google but in this case I'm stumped. I know that there is a few classes named "com.google.apps.tiktok....." that have nothing to so with the social media app and was created before it's inception, but I get nothing from google about this one. | Transferring readable backup file from Samsung S8 to my laptop Posted: 24 Jun 2021 12:48 PM PDT I know I can connect my phone to a printer and get the files off that way, but at the moment, I don't have a working printer. So I'm trying to transfer a backup file from my SMS Backup and Restore app to my laptop that is just the sender/receiver and message content like it shows when I print it, not the unreadable garbled version that keeps getting sent over. Both Google Drive and my email get the same messy files. Any ideas? *edit - be gentle, I'm not hugely tech savvy... [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 24 Jun 2021 11:57 AM PDT In the past, with older Samsung devices, whenever I have enabled Secure Startup to fully encrypt a device, I have gotten an instruction to charge it to at least 80% and leave it plugged in, as it would reboot and take about an hour for this procedure to finalize (maybe not word for word, but iirc that was pretty much what it would say). I've a used stock ROM Galaxy S9 here and I enabled Secure Startup, and it simply said that it is enabled... No restart, not an ~hour long activation process... Nothing, it just says it is enabled. When I restart the phone, it does ask for my password, but I suspect it just might be a UI/visual thing and that it does not really encrypt the device. I checked if the Knox fuse was tripped and it wasn't. Also, because I had the phone heavily debloated, I suspected maybe I have uninstalled a crucial Secure Startup related system app, so I hard reset it and tried again with no default apps being uninstalled. But still the same thing. It says it is enabled, but did not say anything about charging the phone to 80% and that it would take about an hour, or prompt me to reboot, etc. Again, this is a Galaxy S9 and I'm definitely sure it uses Full Disk Encryption (FDE) as its encryption method (I googled this). The reason why that is relevant, is because if it was File Based Encryption (FBE), I'd suspect it would be normal to enable Secure Startup instantly—as it seems to be doing it now—and not have to reboot and take about an hour to encrypt the entire phone. | Battery is acting really funny Posted: 24 Jun 2021 11:17 AM PDT Hello, sometimes, randomly my phone will die at 35% or somewhere in that range. Then when I plug it into the charger it will show 35~% and then work perfectly fine when I take it off. Since I know the battery isn't very easy to replace, I fear that it's an issue with the battery. This is on a Galaxy S9, if that's important. So, is this a battery issue I should have someone look at, an error with the battery calibration, or just something more mundane? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 24 Jun 2021 10:39 AM PDT I am transferring from a Nokia 7.1 to a Nokia X10 During the initial setup I had my backup settings set wrong in my previous device and thus it only backed up my contacts while I also wanted apps and Text messages. I got the popup telling me I could back them up again but I ran into a problem with my old device where my backup was stuck waiting so I missed that opportunity as well, but solved it later. So now Im here with seemingly no way to retrieve my backup, is there any choice but to do a factory reset? [link] [comments] |

Even after EVERYTHING is deleted, almost all of my storage is full. I have had this phone for a few weeks and the storage was full when I first got it. I have had this problem with every phone I've ever had and it seems so rediculous. If the phone is advertised to have 35 gb you should be able to use it!! | WhatsApp Video calls get worse the longer the device is running Posted: 24 Jun 2021 10:29 AM PDT Hi there, I have an older tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 GT-P3100, Android 4.2.2) I mainly use for Whatsapp; it is still good for messaging, even if it is getting really old, but video calls work alright only for some minutes after rebooting, after which it both video and audio quality worsen gradually, until the call drops with the message "Call ended because there's a problem with your phone's microphone Try restarting your phone and try again." I have tried deactivating both Google Vocal Synthesis and Talkback and deleting Whatsapp, Caller and Camera's cache, but to no avail. Is there anything I can do about it? EDIT: I tried with Telegram and, even if it doesn't let me turn on the camera, the audio seems to work perfectly, thing which doesn't seem to happen on Whatsapp even on audio only. | Android connected to Wi-Fi and mobile data at the same time Posted: 24 Jun 2021 10:07 AM PDT Is there a good way to have your phone connected to a Wi-Fi hotspot that doesn't actually provide internet connectivity (i.e. a digital camera's Wi-Fi, other non-Wi-Fi Direct devices), yet still use the mobile connection? I did a few tests, and even if the Wi-Fi device does not provide a gateway address, the Android phone will lose internet connectivity as soon as it is connected to that hotspot. Turn off Wi-Fi, and it switches back to mobile data and everything is fine. I am explicitly not looking for workarounds by using the phone's hotspot function and have the camera connect to that instead of the other way round, as the devices in question (Ricoh Theta, Ordro EP7) do not support that. I am aware of that option, and for devices that support this, probably also the cleanest option, especially at a place where you can join it to an already existing, internet-enabled hotspot anyway. My application will target video live streaming, so the mobile data will be required to work while connected to the camera. [link] [comments] |
| Bricked phone when I tried changing OS Posted: 24 Jun 2021 09:47 AM PDT I have a Xiaomi Mi A1 (Model MDG2). I tried changing the OS to OxgenOS and it bricked the phone. When I plug the phone in to charge it vibrates, goes to the Mi startup screen for 15 seconds and goes black. It vibrates and repeats the process over again until I unplug it. Whenever i get a notifications from facebook, i think push notifications, what i am listening to gets muted and then there is a ping and then i can hear what i am listening to again. | Single flickering pixel on lock screen as it goes from lit to dim. Android 11 Posted: 24 Jun 2021 05:10 AM PDT I just got Android 11 on my stock Verizon Pixel 5 and this started happening. It is a single pixel on the center near the top of the screen. It only appears briefly. When I lock the phone, it goes from lit to very dim as always. However there is a brief intermediate step, and that is when the single pixel flickering happens. I have not seen anything wrong with the display after testing with a dozen apps or so. Is there a way to turn this off? When I pause audio it means I want it paused not playing without me noticing loosing my place lol. Then I moved to the beta, no problems. Then with the latest beta, I tried to run the OTA and got "Couldn't install system update" and clicking on it just said "Installation problem". This was all after the optimizing apps and the reboot process. I also tried sideloading and nothing would work. So I wound up having to factory reset and then took the OTA.
